I have installed Win 7 RTM on several PCs and I like the new Win7 animation (the windows colors rotating then merging into the logo symbol). For some reason on my HP Mini 5101 this animation is replaced by the older Vista animation (the line of dashes moving left to right over "Microsoft Corp".. Is this "normal" or is there something I can do to change it to the Win 7 animation?
View 2 RepliesI have been getting problems when booting. Whenever I boot the windows startup animation stops until I press enter. Then it spots again for a couple minutes until I press enter. I tried clean boot and safe mode which did not help.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen it came back I installed everything and whenever I start it up there is a 10 second delay before the startup animation starts. then it takes its normal course. When my bootup starts now it seems as if it has a much longer bootup than before I rmaed it and it is quite annoying seeing as I have to shut it down because it will not resume from hibernate or sleep.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI cannot find an answer to this, why this is happening, done several installations of Windows 7(32 or 64 bit) but it will never show correctly the boot animation. It only does show it when it wakes up from sleep, which the computer fails to hibernate or enter sleep mode.

My old hard drive crashed, so I went ahead and bought a new one.I installed the new one, and popped in my Windows 7 CD. The first problem happened here. During the installation where I partition my drive, it told me no drivers were found and I had to insert a floppy disk with the drives on there for my hard drive.I didn't know what drivers I needed, nor had a floppy drive so I just transferred the hard drive to another computer in the house, and successfully installed Windows 7 on it from there.After transferring it back to my original computer, the computer boots up (takes a long time unless I request the boot sequence to boot directly from the HDD) to the Windows 7 starting animation, where the four colors come into the Windows logo, then restarts and repeats in the process.
I've searched online, and I'm not sure if it's a connection problem or not. I think the connection I had previous to this new hard drive is the same.The only difference is my old hard drive was SATA but it was connected with the 4 input power chord, but my new one is just connected by the SATA power connector (no option for the 4 input chord).I'm not sure what the problem is. I tried going into the BIOS to change SATA settings and boot order preferences, however I don't see the option. I'm sure I tried checking under every setting.
I have an MSI a6205 laptop, and have recently reformatted my computer to reset everything in it. My problem is this: Ever since I re-installed Windows 7 my computer has been starting up, getting to the little 'Starting Windows' animation, then the screen turns off completely, with no back light (the fans and LEDs still function perfectly). The way I have been getting it to work is by turning it on, waiting for the screen to turn off, then tapping the power button and putting it to sleep, after a few seconds I hit the power button again to awake it, and the screen turns on and functions perfectly.
I know this isn't a hardware issue, because I also have Ubuntu 12.04 installed on the machine, and it works perfectly. It's just Windows 7 that is giving me this problem.

my system crashed yesterday due to gpu overheating. now it boots till windows animated logo but at the point right when welcome screen usually comes there is nothing now but a moveable mouse cursor on a completelly black background.now i have following stuff to get back to normal: two very old restore points and a recently created macrium reflect system image but no repair disc. i will be very happy, if there is a way to use the image since i know that some of you prefer macrium reflect insted of microsofts system image solution. unfurtuntelly my restauration points are way to old (april 2011).
View 7 Replies View RelatedI updated my computer last night with this update [KB2744842]. This morning I tried to open windows 7, but it gets stuck in the opening animation. I went into safe mode and try to do system restore, but all the restore points disappeared.... Finally, I tried "Advanced startup options" and chose Last Known Good Configuration (advanced). With this I was finally be able to boot into Windows 7 64-bit, but now my internet would not work either Ethernet or wifi.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've assembled a new computer and everything is good, but when I put my Windows 7 Ultimate disk the Windows Loading is starting then the animation, but since then the screen is completely black. I waited at least half an hour. I tried to replace the disk drive and the IDE cable, but no change. I put the disk on another computer, and it works properly and displays the screen with the blue Windows 7 background where the installation begins (and asks for the installation language), instead of that black screen.

I am sure everyone recognizes this: at almost every startup, you see the boot animation. Windows 7 uses those 4 colors that merge into a Windows flag.
But the animation freezes at a random moment, then after 3 seconds it disappears and there we have the normal menu where you choose a profile to login with.
I want to see the animation completely, so making use of those 3 seconds where the OS is loading to continue the animation.
You have this in Windows XP too, where the loading bar freezes.
Are there any solutions for this? It would be fantastic to see the Windows flag at the end, and not just those 4 colors about-to-merge.

I have tried several applications that I already have installed like Fireworks, Vegas or Corel VideoStudio but none of them seem to handle that job.
My Windows 7 has stopped booting after a restart, the system would just endlessly play the boot animation and not boot properly... system restore won't work, startup repair won't work, chdsk and sfc won't work. I have yet to try and see whether a Registry fix works. Windows loads the WRE VERY slowly.

It didn't really do anything so I disabled and uninstalled it. However, now when I reboot there is no Windows loading screen, it just goes black after the Mobo splash screen and then shows the Windows login.This isn't a huge deal but I can't seem to figure out why this is happening. When the screen goes black, my USB keyboard and mouse go off too (the back-lights go off). I don't know if this has anything to do with anything but I thought I would mention it.Also, in msconfig the option for No Boot GUI is not checked.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Inspiron and a while ago I shut down my PC and the next morning I was faced with options to repair my computer. It hung on the screen for ages before it actually came up with startup repair and supposedly fixed the problem. A few days later, everything got very slow and started to freeze a lot and before long, booting the computer got very slow as well as it hung for about ten minutes on a black screen after the 'welcome' screen before finally starting up. I decided to reinstall the operating system (I did NOT reformat the C drive), so I borrowed my Grandma's external hard drive and copied my files. After reinstalling using a Dell Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium Re-Installation DVD, I copied and deleted the files off the external hard drive onto my PC (I didn't know it would create a Windows.old folder) and started installing programs. Then I left it overnight to install quite a big program. This morning, somehow it had turned off. I turned it on and it gave me the safe mode options and a 'start windows normally' option. I chose the latter and after typing my password it hung on the welcome screen again. I left it for ages and it just went back to the user login screen again. I pressed the red button in the corner to shut it down but it just hung once again on an empty screen so I did a hard shutdown (held down the power button). I turned it on again...startup repair. It gave me the option for system restore, which I did (then realising when it finished that I hadn't made a backup). I booted it, and again it wouldn't start properly. At this time, safe mode booted fine. After trying various things (even using a compressed air can to get rid of dust) and a few hard shutdowns, suddenly every option from the advanced boot menu took me to startup repair except 'Repair your Computer' which gave the normal options for repair (although now it only gives me 2, Startup Repair and DataSafe Restore and Emergency Backup. Now when I do startup repair, some times it says it has fixed the problem, and sometimes it says it cannot be fixed automatically and gives me information on the problem (a few things it said were: 'StartupRepairOffline', 'AutoFailover' and 'CorruptRegistry').
I can't reinstall my computer because then I would lose my precious files.
Is there some way I can save my files and reinstall or even just save my files somehow or am I screwed?
I have an old Dell Optiplex GX620 with Windows 7 Professional that I have been using as a media PC hooked up to my Panasonic flatscreen. I normally do not shut the computer down that often, instead putting it into sleep mode when not in use. Last night when I tried to wake it up it just showed a blank screen with a cursor. I manually shut it down and when it restarted it would not boot up and went into a loop of restarting. I put the installation disk in and let the Startup Repair program run overnight. When I tried to start the computer the next morning it booted up to the point where it shows the Starting Windows animation and then goes to a black screen with a cursor. I ran the Startup Repair program again but it reported that there were no problems. I restarted again and again it proceeded past the starting windows animation but no further. I am able to move the cursor but it will not proceed past this point. I have tried booting up in Safe Mode and get the exact same result, black screen with moveable cursor.

Going back and clicking on the Standard User icon gets me running for the most part. Here's the BIG problem. Every time I try to install any program, the User Account Control box drops down and asks for the Administrator Password, plus the question,"Do you want to allow the following programs to make changes to your computer?" You click "Yes", but, since no one is in the Administrator office, your installation comes to a halt. This blocks "Install" and "Uninstall". I get lots of messages I need Adobe Flash Player. I've trie over and again to install it, going to Windows 32 bit, but can't uninstall my previous tries. It will always download, and that's all. I've tried to install my digital camera's CD, but can't.
recently i have a problem with my laptop, when restarting it loads normally but after a second desktop load something i dont know caused the desktop unclickable and the loading animation circle is still spinning, after about 2-3 minute it finished and my laptop works well as usual again (no slow), i wonder what makes that happen, sometimes its very annoying when we want to use the laptop immediately after restarting or turning on

I'm using my other built right now coz I have to work. I don't remember what updates I did last night but I do remember the dvd drive firmware was updated.I popped in the system restore disc, start it up and the same page appears: Start with windows start up or Start windows normally. Tried both and neither one of them would bring up system restore. This built was only a month old and was hardly used so far so no system restore point was created at this point. I have files in it that I would like to keep but I can't get to them right now so a clean fresh install is needed but I can't get it up.
