My Windows 7 has stopped booting after a restart, the system would just endlessly play the boot animation and not boot properly... system restore won't work, startup repair won't work, chdsk and sfc won't work. I have yet to try and see whether a Registry fix works. Windows loads the WRE VERY slowly.

The problem is that when the bootscreen is showing, the animation plays just a bit and then it freezes, but windows boots ok. How do I fix the bootscreen animation?

A few days ago,my laptop was working fine..when suddenly it started to hang up..i tried to logoff but it dosent...i waited for 15 min but it didnt respond...then i force shutdown it..when i restarted it,it showed up with BSOD saying "unmountable_boot-volume"
and then restarts itself again...it came up with "windows has failed to logon" i selected "Startup Repair" it took 2 days continuously repairing it up...but it goes on for "attempting repairs''...finally.i lost my patience and press cancel..it hanged up again..i restarted my PC it again came up with BSOD again mentioned above.When i tried to run startup repair,this time it wont start...Then i tried to load windows in safe mode,no luck,in safe mood with command prompt to run chkdsk,but i wont load..it stuck up at driver.sys... i got an answer to run tools for checking up my hard drive,i downloaded DFT from Hitachi and run it ...but it wont..it stuck up with a cursor blinking and saying "Loading DFT"...i waited for 2 hrs but nothing happens...Then i ran seagate tools..it runs..check for errors ...it came up with answer : Bad Sectors Found..then i ran up advance test to repair bad sectors..it repaired 2 sectors and then : "Repair Failed Bad Sectors Found.."i was just googling up to see if Bad sectors Can be repaired...i found HDD Regenerator..but i dont know if it can really repair Bad Sectors on my hard drive..
1) should i first go for HDD Regenerator to repair Bad Sectors...
2)Should i backup my data....?

After restoring my pc from a system image, when windows resarts, it won't boot, & I'm taken to the "startup repair" option screen. After Startup Repair is performed I get the message "Startup Repair Cannot Repair This Computer Automatically" with the following problem details:

I have just purchased a new pc that came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, which wont run my company software, which was made in 1995, 16 bit. This 16bit software ran fine on my previous pc, which had Windows 7 Starter 32-bit. But the 64 bit Windows 7 version wont run it, I cant use Windows XP Mode on my version of Windows 7, need Pro - Ultimate Version.
I want to install and run the Windows 7 32-bit I have, on my new pc (I still have the installation disk) on a separate partition and keep the 64 bit version to. Is this possible to install both 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Windows 7 and then select which to run when the pc boots?
I have an Asrock Extreme6 Z77 motherboard, and of course it comes with their signature Instant Boot.I have a Crucial m4 so booting wasn't an issue but I enabled it anyway to test it out. It didn't really do anything so I disabled and uninstalled it. However, now when I reboot there is no Windows loading screen, it just goes black after the Mobo splash screen and then shows the Windows login.This isn't a huge deal but I can't seem to figure out why this is happening. When the screen goes black, my USB keyboard and mouse go off too (the back-lights go off). I don't know if this has anything to do with anything but I thought I would mention it.Also, in msconfig the option for No Boot GUI is not checked.
View 3 Replies View RelatedYesterday's evening I was watching a movie on my Asus P52J lap top and then I decided it's time to sleep so I went to brush my teeth (I left the computer running) but when I came back lap top's screen was black and it said "disk read error press ctrl+alt+delete to reboot" (or something similar) when I rebooted the same screen popped up so I just pushed the power button to power off. Then I removed battery and put it back in (in the past it worked for other crashes). When I started my pc that window came up with two suggestions to run windows normally or to fix it.
I tried to start it normally but on the windows animation screen the "windows" didn't show up and it automatically started system recovery... It took forever to load it. But when I got to the system recovery tools I saw that it says "Operating system: Unknown on (Unknown) local disk" . It really startled me. I decided to go with Startup repair. At first it was scanning for errors and then it said that it was fixing them. But it keeps on fixing them for hours. I don't know what to do... I don't have the windows 7 home premium x64 original disk because I got the computer with already installed windows.
When I boot up my laptop I get a black screen with two boot choices.First one is "Windows 7 Home Premium" Second is "Windows 7 Home Premium (recovered).I wait and windows opens up the first option "windows 7 Home premium"How can I get boot up to by pass this screen and boot straight to Windows 7 Home Premium.?

I've set the boot device to the optical drive in the BIOS configuration, and I've tried other CD's that might make things different. I've got it from America, as I've just moved to England and had it shipped over, and am trying to use a British installation disc for it. I've got the product key and everything I need and the installation discs have the stuff on it. I know this because I booted my Nana's computer from the DVD and it works.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo my desktop computer had a nasty virus or something on it, and it was originally a 32-bit Windows 7 Home Premium (as it came with the computer).To get rid of it, I decided to wipe the whole HDD and install a clean Windows 7 Ultimate. But I noticed that the boot time for computer now is MUCH slower now. Before on the Home Premium it would only hang at the "Welcome" screen for only about 5 seconds, then go straight to the desktop and I would be able to use it within minutes. Total boot time: probably under a minute.Now on Ultimate, it hangs on the "Welcome" screen for about 30 seconds, then takes another 10 seconds before I can do anything. Total boot time: 1.5 or 2 minutes.I've tried disabling some of the startup programs and ran a clean boot, but nothign wouthe boot time as fast as it was before. I know that Ultimate has a lot more features, does that explain the extra boot time?

Boot Manager list Windows 7 first, which is what I wanted and set via msconfig.
I think I am going to trash my Vista and install a clean Windows 7 on C drive.
I am thinking to do this:
1. From within Windows 7, go to msconfig and reset boot sequence to C Drive
2. Reboot. From within Vista, go to Disk Management and delete the W partition (and therefore Windows 7) and then to resize my C drive to full amount of C/W size (500GB)
3. From within Vista, load in Windows 7 DVD, go to My computer and set off setup.exe & do a clean install...or do I have to change boot sequence thru bios first and reboot to the DVD drive to do this?
I have all discs/drivers for my other applications and they are all working fine on my present Windows 7 drive
Or would I simply do an in-place upgrade?
I know I have to either purchase a new copy or an upgrade copy of Windows 7.
Is my thought process above correct?
Every time I would boot up instead of the boot animation of windows 7. I get a loading bar instead how do I change this?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI cannot find an answer to this, why this is happening, done several installations of Windows 7(32 or 64 bit) but it will never show correctly the boot animation. It only does show it when it wakes up from sleep, which the computer fails to hibernate or enter sleep mode.
An example of what happens on boot is in this video:
I have been getting problems when booting. Whenever I boot the windows startup animation stops until I press enter. Then it spots again for a couple minutes until I press enter. I tried clean boot and safe mode which did not help.

But the animation freezes at a random moment, then after 3 seconds it disappears and there we have the normal menu where you choose a profile to login with.
I want to see the animation completely, so making use of those 3 seconds where the OS is loading to continue the animation.
You have this in Windows XP too, where the loading bar freezes.
Are there any solutions for this? It would be fantastic to see the Windows flag at the end, and not just those 4 colors about-to-merge.

It is highly bothersome that I cant keep each volume letter unchanged so I can identify each one of my 6 hard drives + the Usb drives. I always keep 2 HDD inside the PC tower plus another 4 inside an external enclosure. Additionally I have an external Sabrent USB-DSC5 Hard Drive adapter with one HDD or Optical drive connected to it and the PC.
Is it possible from Windows 7 to set it in such a way that the drives lettering e.g. C E F G H J K etc etc remain linked to each individual HDD? If Windows does not offer that capability how do I solve this need? Is there any known software I could install that deals with this issue and solves it efficiently?
I am having a problem. The OS(Windows 7 x64) finishes installing but when it finishes it boots up again like normal then flashes a quick blue screen error message. I have tried doing what the comments told you to do except for downloading the ISO and burning it to a disk. I just get the same error. I have researched this processor and it turns out it has been known to be VERY dodgy with Windows 7 64-bit.

Alright, here are my pc specs first: I5-2310, 8gb Ram, geforce 560 gtx, 450 watt psu. 1.5 tb hdd. I am having an issue where my pc will randomly hang for a second or too, sometimes when something loads sometimes it just does it randomly, its really starting to worry me, I've scanned for viruses, and defragged my hard drive and this has not fixed it. Does it every 30-60 mins on average.
