View 2 Replies View RelatedMan, my computer for the last two weeks have been crashing like an emo. I mean, when I play GTA: San Adreas, in 20 minutes, I get a BSOD with a stop error. When I put hardware acceleration to full, in a half an hour, I get a BSOD with a similar error. Believe me, I got three kinds of errors, and some were from different time. I believe the problem either came from the either the PSU, new 512 mb of ram, old 512, CPU, system board, or the graphic card. I'll try to post the error as best as I can. So, is there a solution to this?

View 6 Replies View Relatedlaptop was infected with the Antivirus 2009 after surfing the web and I removed it using malwarebytes program. Then shortly after the laptop would show a blue screen, displaying "KERNEL STACK INPAGE ERROR" and then reboot. After the reboot, my laptop seemed to run fine, I downloaded AVG antivirus software to check if there was a boot sector virus (?) and after running the laptop for about 30 minutes, it showed the blue screen again and reboots. This kept on occuring.
Then I tried to reformat the laptop. The first time I tried to format it as FAT32, it got to about 60% before rebooting. The second time I managed to get past the formatting (FAT32 [quick])and I got onto the part of installing windows. About 20 minutes into the installation. View 14 Replies View RelatedDell Dimension E520.The machine came with Vista but it doesn't work with any of the applications that we need. We just went out and dropped the wad of cash on Windows XP and resized the hard drive with the Vista Disk Management.When we boot into the WinXP cd, it loads all the drivers etc but when it gets to "Starting Windows XP" screen at the end of the driver loading (no graphics yet), it suddenly bluescreens and says to check for a virus or run a checkdisk. We tried this a number of times and its not working.Due to the fact that nothing is set yet for installation, the WinXP disk should _not_ be even yet touching the hard disk, just loading into RAM. The machine is new and has 2GB of RAM on it, more than enough for an XP install.Does anyone know what could be the issue? I am wondering if we have to find/install additional drivers at the initial XP disk loading, but I am not sure.

I just installed XP SP2. I have a Sr100T 2.8ghz desktop. I used this cd about a year ago to do a fresh install of xp, and everything worked, I think, I don't remember honestly. Now I used the same cd, installed, but after the Compaq main screen comes up (where it gives options to boot menu, setup, recovery) the screen goes black for about 10 secs, then a tons of white bars in a line appear on the bottom of the screen shows up.

Basically, I have an IDE CDROM into the mobo, and a SATA HDD hooked to a Koutech Initio-chipset SATA controller card. In the card's setup at boot, it says the drive is "passthrough". I confess I'm not sure what that means. I'm new to SATA. I slipstreamed the Inic1620 drivers into a new CD with nLite, which stopped the "Setup cannot find any hard drives..." error, and allowed Setup to continue. After loading files, however, on restart I get the ever popular STOP 7B BSOD. Windows DOES begin to start, and the splash screen shows for a second or so, then it's into the ol' freezerino. Email to Koutech support has gone unanswered.
The machine is a Gigabyte 6IEML/P3900/500MB with an Intel 82815/801B chipset. I also tried restoring an image from another machine with an Intel chipset--though not the same one--and it stops at mup.sys, but that may have nothing to do with the SATA card. Interestingly, although Windows Setup couldn't find the drive, a Hiren's CD, with no SATA drivers loaded, could. Actually, a bit more than interesting isn't it?
All new system Asus MB core i7 4 gig ram with sata drive. All hardware is up in the bios and recognized. I get the Stop:0X0000007B on install of XP pro service pack 2.

Well, after installing and rebooting up dates came up. I let in automatically install updates. I know 'stupid'. I now have it set to notify me before installing. Anyway, one of the updates was some version on windows explorer. It is always attempting to Install. It doesn't say what what it is installing. I look on the internet and one told me how to find out what it is attempting to install. It came back as "3.1.400.5512" I'm think that is internet explorer 3.1 not sure. It slows my computer, won't let me go online because it interfers with the sign on window pop up.

I have tried to change the bios setting for the HD to IDE but I do not find anything about storage or AHCI. All i see is a place to change raid configuration. Raid is disabled. View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I think I was affected by the SP3 update. I went out and got another harddrive to reinstall on since the other harddrive wouldn't even boot up. I can format the disc and the setup files load and then the system does the reboot. But after it reboots it ask me if I want to install XP and it takes me through the prompts of which drive I want to partition.
View 13 Replies View RelatedFirst my computer was cutting off in the middle of any program. I decided to delete everything on the drive and reformat it and reload windows xp. While trying to load windows xp it would load the set up but when going to load files it locked up everytime. I tried also loading windows 98, 95 and they too locked up. At one point it said I had a virus in my boot sector and at another time it said I had a virus in my RAM. I got a program called PC Beginner to help partition my drive and redo the MBR. I can partition the drive and format it but windows still doesn't load. Now I wonder if there is a problem with the mother board and I have a dual bios board, I was wonder if there is a program loaded in the dual bios that may somehow causing my problem. If so what can be done to clear the problem? How can I get windows reloaded?

ive tried using 2 different type of memory on the m-board and still get the same error.
there are no other hardware besides a cdrom and hdisk, mosue and keyboard. i did have an old logitech mouse but swapped that as i read that can cause problems too.
i dont know how to go about fixing this as their is a hotfix for acpi problems but thatr equires u to actually have windows on teh pc in teh first place i.e safe mode.
i can get into bios and it performs POST no problems. the only other thing is it boots fromcdrom but it says no emulation.

I've tried to run system restore, but it won't let me go back a month on the calendar or change system restore settings so I can't restore any point that isn't the restore point made today, after the errors started happening. Also, every time I run an app, it says "ctf loader can't run" and comes up with the error report screen, I click don't send, it goes away and the app works fine.
