tracking down and getting rid of things that cause error to appear in event log. one of the few left is the rx filter failed to load issue. seems to be due to roxio program somehow and perhaps related to 32/64 bit issues. suggestions or ignore?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had a lot of blue screens occurring in June-July, but that was fixed from removing my antivirus and replacing it with microsoft security essentials. Since 7/22 I've been getting blue screens randomly--sometimes when I turn the computer on from hibernation it will crash, or the wireless drivers will "disappear" and reappear after the computer crashes and restarts. They all seem to be caused by ntoskrnl.exe and are driver power state failures.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOkay, I was playing with the settings of the Live Family Safety Filters and I cant seem to get rid of this pop up message when i start my computer. See attachment. I click ok and it goes away PLUS I have no problems surfing the iternet. There is some inconsistency cause I shouldnt be able to suf the internet as the error messg states.
There should be a much simpler way to turn this off.
By the way i am the administrator and sole user of this computer.

It only occurs on start up if I have a USB memory device plugged into a USB port. The USB memory device functions perfectly and the error never occurs when I plug in and out a memory device after boot up.The error only occurs for memory devices like memory sticks, external USB hard drive does not cause this error.Checking back to around the 11/18/2012 I see nothing that I have changed/installed that might indicate something that has caused this. No other Windows 7 failures or issues.

The same when I want to re-install Seven.. "Windows is loading files" and then I can see the menu when the problem is presented that I should choose repair system etc.. but it always ends with the same effect.I can do nothing.As I wrote above I wanted to upgrade bios but I stayed with the same version because of many reasons so I made upgrade but nothing has really changed. View 9 Replies View RelatedI have recently setup a raid 0+1 array on a computer with 4 identical hard drives. I installed windows 7 and the installation without a hitch. However on the reboot a windows error message appears and says the following:

I have tried many things in an attempt to resolve this issue. I have tried reinstalling, using a different DVD drive and removing the RAID array to no avail. I have also disconnected the hard drive which is not associated with the RAID array also to no avail.
I turned on my pc, and it would not let me get past start up, saying

I tried a few things, mostly the startup repair option that it would (recommend) to me next to the start windows normally option. this did absolutely nothing, and the problem continued. So I said ok, I give up, and decided to back up everything and completely reformat and reinstall windows. I did this, it installed successfully. I couldn't believe it...even after completely reformatting, I could not get past start up. The system repair option still does nothing, even with the disc in and I tried reinstalling it a bunch of times, but now it wont even do that correct all the way through, keeps coming up with errors talking about files either missing or corrupt. I wiped partitions and tried again alot of times, but nothing. Now it doesnt even recognize windows 7 as being installed at all. [URL]
Win 7-64 on Gateway FX6860 i7 system 8gm ram tons of HD space. Got "Page Failed to Load" error attempting to change my Windows 7-64bit display resolution. This used to work, but no more ( don't know what might have caused it). I ran "sfc /scannow". SFC reported that there were corrupted files that could not be repaired or replaced and to look at CBS.log. I did but can make no sense out of it.

Log files show below that 4 things failed to load. Tuesday couldn't boot up PC again.. tried to restart like 4-5 times.. Finally comes up and in the logs there's numerous things that failed to load. Running a sfc /scannow right now.

I realized some of these are not Windows 7 related but most are. While the computer "works", I do experience frequent reboots and freezes. Perhaps some of these driver loading failures are part of the cause of my issues.
I'm trying to select my own sounds in the sound event settings in windows seven, but when I test the sound, it doesn't play. All of the default sounds can be used, and I haven't noticed any other sound problems, but it won't let me use my own sounds, even if they are in the .wav format.

The line where it says "SYSTEM RESTORE" is the point at which I restored the computer to after installing some software and having the "Starting Windows" issue recur. I check the Event Viewer with every boot. The only Error and Critical events are (generally) Power events when I am forced to reboot manually due to a "Starting Windows" freeze.
View 5 Replies View Relatedi have recently built a computer and i am experiencing frequent freeze-ups and bsod events with it. none of my previously built rigs have experienced this, and the most recent computer used several of the components currently in use, including the ssd, graphics card, case/ps, cpu cooler, and windows 7. [code] all of this has been assembled recently, though many of the components (listed above) have been in service for some time.nothing is overclocked.i have experienced more freeze ups than bsod. these have come at all different conditions, including web-browsing, watching video (both wm player and online Internet), downloading files while computer is unattended (i return and find computer unresponsive) and occasionally while gaming (mostly ms flight sim x). i have not determined a pattern.cooling is very good in the case, and the asrock board fan controllers maintain the cpu reported temp below 45c at idle and i have not seen the core temp above 60c in any situation other than a run of the program 'core damage'. i followed the directions for how to assemble a help thread for this forum, but i have not looked up any error codes yet (have not ever needed to with windows 7) so i will look into that in parallel.

How the problem occurs: I will be playing audio through winamp just fine from first playback. The problem occurs after I decide I would like to STOP the song that is playing and open another application. After I've finished with that application and return back to winamp to hit PLAY the song won't playback.The song will simply sit there looking like it is about to play but no response. I have already uninstalled Windows OneCare (virus protection). However, when Windows 7 was installing, my Spyware Doctor opened up and I had to click "yes" on it for the Spyware Doctor box to go away. Do you think that could have caused the upgrade to fail? I had turned off Spyware Doctor, but I'm thinking I should uninstall it before trying Windows 7 again. What do you all think?

Windows cannot copy files required for installation. The files may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070241 I have downloaded the iso's again (from the Microsoft partner site) in case there was a corrupt download, but I get the same error.
The VPC image was using the ISO directly, and I copied the files from the iso to a usb drive for the netbook install. Anyone else see this?
