View 1 Replies View RelatedSince the 11/18/2012 event viewer (Event ID 219, Task Category 212) has been posting a warning:
The driver DriverWUDFRd failed to load for the device WpdBusEnumRootUMB2&37c186b&0&STORAGE#VOLUME#_??_USBSTOR#DISK&VEN (followed by name of USB device)
It only occurs on start up if I have a USB memory device plugged into a USB port. The USB memory device functions perfectly and the error never occurs when I plug in and out a memory device after boot up.The error only occurs for memory devices like memory sticks, external USB hard drive does not cause this error.Checking back to around the 11/18/2012 I see nothing that I have changed/installed that might indicate something that has caused this. No other Windows 7 failures or issues.
Booting a second hard drive with windows 7 on the same system (I have this second installation for testing faults etc), the issue does NOT occur. From checking forums and searching I have found a few others with this issue and a few articles on its cause, WUDFRd failed to load for the device, Event ID 219 is logged after you install Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2
I was just curious as to why it would suddenly start occurring after a particular date when as far as I can tell I have not made any changes to anything around this date. Also I wondered if there was a fix to stop this, other than removing a memory stick before boot up!
tracking down and getting rid of things that cause error to appear in event log. one of the few left is the rx filter failed to load issue. seems to be due to roxio program somehow and perhaps related to 32/64 bit issues. suggestions or ignore?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an ACER ASPIRE 5739G running Windows 7 64-bit.No changes were made on the laptop over the past 2 months, suddenly I started to encounter the "blue screen of death" once every few days, randomly when browsing the internet (no other software was running). It started to do this more frequently, within 1 hour of EVERY startup, I then performed a system restore and now the blue screen appears within 30 seconds of every startup, as well as Safe Mode. The blue screen appears for 15 seconds, the laptop then restarts.I have attached an image of the blue screen below:I know the most obvious solution will be to re-format the hard drive, as the computer is rebooting within 30 seconds of each start up as well as safe mode.Is there any way for me to browse the hard drive on the laptop without loading up the OS, to transfer to another laptop/external HD?I have a couple of really vital documents (only 10mb worth), although the laptop reboots before I have the chance to transfer them to a USB stick. If there was a way to transfer these files, I would be more than happy to re-format the laptop.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI want to install Windows 7 to a UEFI-compatible netbook that only has a SD Card slot and a single USB Port (the netbook I'm refering to is the CR-48 if anyone is curious)I know this computer supports UEFI (I was able to start the Fedora 14 EFI and Windows 7 x64 EFI installers) but my assumption is that EFI-based OS installs require you to have the disc inserted (both installers failed to actually load).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had installed Seven on my Dell Dimension 4400 everything was all right and I was working successfully with that operating system but I had to upgrade my BIOS and after that it shows me error when I try to start system: 0xc0000225 (Windows failed to load because the firmware [bios] is not ACPI compatible). The same when I want to re-install Seven.. "Windows is loading files" and then I can see the menu when the problem is presented that I should choose repair system etc.. but it always ends with the same effect.I can do nothing. As I wrote above I wanted to upgrade bios but I stayed with the same version because of many reasons so I made upgrade but nothing has really changed. What's more, I'm sure that Seven may work on my machine - I used it!There's a map of my Bios: Documentation Shall you check what should I change?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have recently setup a raid 0+1 array on a computer with 4 identical hard drives. I installed windows 7 and the installation without a hitch. However on the reboot a windows error message appears and says the following:
File: \Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe
Status: 0xc0000221
Info: Windows failed to load because the kernel is missing, or corrupt.
I have tried many things in an attempt to resolve this issue. I have tried reinstalling, using a different DVD drive and removing the RAID array to no avail. I have also disconnected the hard drive which is not associated with the RAID array also to no avail.
Every time I boot up I get an error message that says, 'failed to load branding configuration'...what can I do

I tried a few things, mostly the startup repair option that it would (recommend) to me next to the start windows normally option. this did absolutely nothing, and the problem continued. So I said ok, I give up, and decided to back up everything and completely reformat and reinstall windows. I did this, it installed successfully. I couldn't believe it...even after completely reformatting, I could not get past start up. The system repair option still does nothing, even with the disc in and I tried reinstalling it a bunch of times, but now it wont even do that correct all the way through, keeps coming up with errors talking about files either missing or corrupt. I wiped partitions and tried again alot of times, but nothing. Now it doesnt even recognize windows 7 as being installed at all. [URL]
Win 7-64 on Gateway FX6860 i7 system 8gm ram tons of HD space. Got "Page Failed to Load" error attempting to change my Windows 7-64bit display resolution. This used to work, but no more ( don't know what might have caused it). I ran "sfc /scannow". SFC reported that there were corrupted files that could not be repaired or replaced and to look at CBS.log. I did but can make no sense out of it.

I realized some of these are not Windows 7 related but most are. While the computer "works", I do experience frequent reboots and freezes. Perhaps some of these driver loading failures are part of the cause of my issues.
I dont know if this is posted in the right area but I'm so desperate to get my laptop working its unreal. First it started off with my laptop crashing, I had totally forgot it needed to do a windows update and turned off my laptop in hopes that it would work properly. After that my laptop has not been working. The machine turns on and gives me two options. Start windows normally or do a repair. Upon starting windows normally, it loads so far before sending me back to the two options of start windows normally or repair. On the second time I clicked repair. My laptop then goes so far before presenting me with a blue screen that is usually the screen where my accounts are. The cursor still moves but it loads no further even after leaving it an hour. I decided to make a repair disk, hoping that the problem was because of windows. the disk loads, gives me a choice on the keyboard language then does nothing. I honestly have no idea what to do, I want to keep all the files safe on my computer as I havent backed them up and I have worked so hard on the projects.

Admittedly, I'm not 100% certain the DSL is properly working, but I will speak with my ISP tonight to make sure that it isn't the issue.

View 7 Replies View RelatedA few days ago, I started having trouble with Dell Latitued D800, Windows 7. First, Windows would not boot up. I was able to boot windows using the F12 option. When Windows loaded, the screen display had shrunk and was centered with a black perimeter. I contacted the guy that sold me the computer and he suggested that I check the boot sequence for the boot issue. That worked fine. To resolve the resolution issue, I was advised to select the "last known good configuration" from the F8 options. After I did that, the Windows Error Recovery Screen. A Recent Hardware Or Software Change May Be The Cause. I attempt to start windows normally.
