I have recently setup a raid 0+1 array on a computer with 4 identical hard drives. I installed windows 7 and the installation without a hitch. However on the reboot a windows error message appears and says the following:
File: \Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe
Status: 0xc0000221
Info: Windows failed to load because the kernel is missing, or corrupt.
I have tried many things in an attempt to resolve this issue. I have tried reinstalling, using a different DVD drive and removing the RAID array to no avail. I have also disconnected the hard drive which is not associated with the RAID array also to no avail.

I turned on my pc, and it would not let me get past start up, saying
file : Windowssystem32
tkrnlpa.exe
status : 0xc00000e9 Info:
Windows failed to load because the kernel is missing or corrupt
I tried a few things, mostly the startup repair option that it would (recommend) to me next to the start windows normally option. this did absolutely nothing, and the problem continued. So I said ok, I give up, and decided to back up everything and completely reformat and reinstall windows. I did this, it installed successfully. I couldn't believe it...even after completely reformatting, I could not get past start up. The system repair option still does nothing, even with the disc in and I tried reinstalling it a bunch of times, but now it wont even do that correct all the way through, keeps coming up with errors talking about files either missing or corrupt. I wiped partitions and tried again alot of times, but nothing. Now it doesnt even recognize windows 7 as being installed at all. [URL]

Since the 11/18/2012 event viewer (Event ID 219, Task Category 212) has been posting a warning:
The driver DriverWUDFRd failed to load for the device WpdBusEnumRootUMB2&37c186b&0&STORAGE#VOLUME#_??_USBSTOR#DISK&VEN (followed by name of USB device)
It only occurs on start up if I have a USB memory device plugged into a USB port. The USB memory device functions perfectly and the error never occurs when I plug in and out a memory device after boot up.The error only occurs for memory devices like memory sticks, external USB hard drive does not cause this error.Checking back to around the 11/18/2012 I see nothing that I have changed/installed that might indicate something that has caused this. No other Windows 7 failures or issues.
Booting a second hard drive with windows 7 on the same system (I have this second installation for testing faults etc), the issue does NOT occur. From checking forums and searching I have found a few others with this issue and a few articles on its cause, WUDFRd failed to load for the device, Event ID 219 is logged after you install Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2
I was just curious as to why it would suddenly start occurring after a particular date when as far as I can tell I have not made any changes to anything around this date. Also I wondered if there was a fix to stop this, other than removing a memory stick before boot up!

I want to install Windows 7 to a UEFI-compatible netbook that only has a SD Card slot and a single USB Port (the netbook I'm refering to is the CR-48 if anyone is curious)I know this computer supports UEFI (I was able to start the Fedora 14 EFI and Windows 7 x64 EFI installers) but my assumption is that EFI-based OS installs require you to have the disc inserted (both installers failed to actually load).

I had installed Seven on my Dell Dimension 4400 everything was all right and I was working successfully with that operating system but I had to upgrade my BIOS and after that it shows me error when I try to start system: 0xc0000225 (Windows failed to load because the firmware [bios] is not ACPI compatible). The same when I want to re-install Seven.. "Windows is loading files" and then I can see the menu when the problem is presented that I should choose repair system etc.. but it always ends with the same effect.I can do nothing. As I wrote above I wanted to upgrade bios but I stayed with the same version because of many reasons so I made upgrade but nothing has really changed. What's more, I'm sure that Seven may work on my machine - I used it!There's a map of my Bios: Documentation Shall you check what should I change?

This used to work, but no more ( don't know what might have caused it). I ran "sfc /scannow". SFC reported that there were corrupted files that could not be repaired or replaced and to look at CBS.log. I did but can make no sense out of it.

I recently bought a new mobo and processor for my computer. After I installed them I started mycomputer. The mobo posted but when it tried to start windows, it said BOOTMGR MISSING and wouldn't. This new mobo has sata 3 ports and I dont know if my old one did, but that is where I plugged them in. I then tried plugging them into the sata 2 ports. This time it said windows failed to start and it could be because of new hardware and I should try to repair. I tried to start it normally, but on the screen where the little balls fly in and form the windows logo, it gets about half way, a blue screen with words on it flashes very quickly and the computer restarts. When I tried the windows repiar, it can see the install of windows in my HDD, but it said it cannot repair it. The last thing I can think to do is reinstall windows, but I want to make sure I wont lose everything in the process.

I have an Macbook Pro with an Intel processor, which I have partitioned as a dual boot and have Windows 7 Ultimate X64 installed. This setup has ran fine until last week. I installed an old Guitar DVD course, and the default video player was Windows Media Player. For some reason the videos would only play sound but no video. The videos would play fine if I went to the folders and used a different media player, but within the lessons software it by default used Windows Media player. I tried updating all the codecs to play avi files but with no luck. I read where it was a known issue with WMP 12, and rolling back to WMP11 usually solved the issue. I found an older version of WMP 11, but I think it was infected with malware, and I was caught in an infinite boot loop where Windows wouldfind a problem, try to repair it, and couldn't, and reboot only to keep doing that over and over. I ran /fixmbr and /fixboot and managed to get out of the boot loop, but now I keep getting an error "Windows is unable to start due to a missing or corrupt file WindowsSysWOW64DriversSZKG64.sys From researching some it seems to be a driver from an antivirusspyware program I have installed called StopZilla. I've looked everywhere for some way to get past this but can't seem to find a solution. Also I have ran three different rescue cd's and nothing has shown up.

I just wanted to document my ordeal here for two reasons: 1.) in order to share my experience and 2.) beacause after 36+ hours of attempting to find a solution to my problem I could NOT find one and did a few things myself to remedy and fix the situation. This experience needs to be shared in case someone else goes through this and like me, NONE of the suggested fixes work. After a failed windows 7 install using an upgrade disc (clean install, no previous OS - this is possible with the right sequence of installation, google it). I continually recieved the error "Bootmgr is missing press ctrl+alt+delete+ to restart".There are many walkthroughs on the internet detailing how to remedy this problem BUT all of them are assuming Windows has been successfully installed and that you can repair it using the install disc and clicking "repair" when putting it into the disc drive and loading it before booting. My problem of course was that the OS was not successfully installed, therefore I had no way to access the repair options.I removed the hard drive and put it into a working PC and it was detected; reformatted the drive, scanned it using Western Digital's (it's a WD Caviar Blue 500gb) software to check for drive health as I assumed the drive was bad. The drive was reformatted successfully and the long test revealed no issues, the drive was healthy. I put it back into the new rig, checked cables, replaced sata cords, powered on and "Bootmgr is missing press ctrl+alt+delete+ to restart"
Went into BIOS and made sure boot order was correct - it was.Used a piece of software meant to fix bootmgr issues (url...) - no luck.I went ahead and performed memtest86+ 4.21 and detected tens of thousands of errors in the ram. This narrowed it down. I replaced the ram with ram I know has no errors and booted up. "Bootmgr is missing press ctrl+alt+delete+ to restart".This is when I realized that it must be connected to the bad install and that before tossing this PC out of the window of a moving car, I should wipe the drive completely and start over, as something on the drive must be corrupted, despite the reformat and health of the drive. Using DBAN Boot and Nuke (http://www.dban.org/download) I wiped the drive completely (took 10 hours or so). I prayed this would solve my problems and guess what: IT DID! At this point after restarting after Boot and Nuke and putting in the upgrade disc and went forward with my installation NO "Bootmgr is missing press ctrl+alt+delete+ to restart" and the install went perfectly.

Yesterday I came home from work to a black screen that said "Error Loading OS". Not sure how this happened, so I restarted it and it came right back to that. Spent a few minutes digging around and found out that my hard drive was not set in the BIOS as a boot drive (although no idea how that changed), so I switched it back and the computer booted fine.Today, I come home from work and again, I see the black screen that says "Error Loading OS". I restarted, went in the BIOS, and saw that of 4 hard drives in the system, only 1 (non boot) showed up. This is weird. I shut down for a few minutes, booted it back up to the BIOS, and my primary hard drive was listed again. Selected that, and Windows booted up fine.
Was using the computer for about an hour when everything just froze. The mouse still worked and moved, but nothing else at all was working. So I restarted again, and I got to a "Windows failed to start" / 0xc000000f error. Off to the BIOS again, where again, only 2 or 3 of my 4 hard drives were listed. I shut down, left it for a few minutes, rebooted back, and selected my primary drive again. Then I went ahead and created an image of my primary drive just in case.I have no idea wh thought it might be a hard drive failure, or it could be something messed up in my motherboard. I have a 64GB Crucial M4 SSD drive that is less than a year old, along with an ASRock Z68 PRO3 motherboard that was bought at the same time.

I'm not sure where to even begin to fix these problems. Some online searches suggested doing a system repair but I want to get some more feedback here before proceeding. Here is the message from the event log:The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
AFD
cmdGuard
cmdHlp
CSC
DfsC
discache
ElbyCDIO
[code]...
I realized some of these are not Windows 7 related but most are. While the computer "works", I do experience frequent reboots and freezes. Perhaps some of these driver loading failures are part of the cause of my issues.

I dont know if this is posted in the right area but I'm so desperate to get my laptop working its unreal. First it started off with my laptop crashing, I had totally forgot it needed to do a windows update and turned off my laptop in hopes that it would work properly. After that my laptop has not been working. The machine turns on and gives me two options. Start windows normally or do a repair. Upon starting windows normally, it loads so far before sending me back to the two options of start windows normally or repair. On the second time I clicked repair. My laptop then goes so far before presenting me with a blue screen that is usually the screen where my accounts are. The cursor still moves but it loads no further even after leaving it an hour. I decided to make a repair disk, hoping that the problem was because of windows. the disk loads, gives me a choice on the keyboard language then does nothing. I honestly have no idea what to do, I want to keep all the files safe on my computer as I havent backed them up and I have worked so hard on the projects.

I just got a computer for free, a Dell Studio 1555. When I got it, it would try to boot, then come to a screen that said that bootmgr.exe was missing. Sometimes I got a message that said something like mpio.sys was corrupted or missing. I have a Win 7 disk, so I put it in and tried to repair the installation. Each time I ran it, it said that the repair had failed. I tried to reinstall windows 7, and It made it to the first restart in the process. It showed the "Starting Windows" screen, but the colors of the windows logo never appeared, then I got the missing bootmgr screen. I decided to install Ubuntu and see if that worked, and it did (I installed it alongside the Windows installation). It was Ubuntu 10.04. I thought, "OK, so i'll just use this as a Linux machine"...and I decided to go back and reinstall so that I could use the entire hard drive. It never worked correctly again. Each subsequent time that I installed Ubuntu, I was told something along the lines of "Gnome Power Manager did not install correctly" and got a slow and choppy Ubuntu installation.Tried to install 11.10, and it failed completely. I opened the Ubuntu live from my usb drive, and opened the disk utility. I now cannot format, reformat, partition, or delete partitions on the drive. Is all of this just a case of a hard drive on its last legs, or is there something else going on here?

Ok i have windows 7, Recently i have found out that i have a full list of errors that happened pretty much overnight:Here's the list 1. I can't go onto Control Panel It say's " This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator" I AM THE ADMIN.. I am the only account too. 2. My Task bar is missing, When i go ctrl-alt-del i see no option to open up my task bar. [FIXED] 3. I cant RIGHT click on anything on my desktop, as well as my folders and stuff. Although i can right click while playing games or browsing the internet, so my mouse is definitely not broken. So u must be thinking, this guy has a virus for sure... Well if i do have a virus it must be made by ******* Bill Gates. Because i can't find it.I have the FULL version of Trend Micro Cillin as well as Norton 360, I've just recently downloaded Malvare Bytes, and that couldn't find anything as well. I've done a full system scam on both anti-virus programs, i see no viruses. I did get a virus a week ago, but Norton quickly picked it up, I'm thinking it may have changed a few settings in my computer before i managed to delete it.
