View 1 Replieswindows could not connect to the system event notification service this problems prevents standard users from logging on to the system as an administrative user you can review the system event log for details about why the service didn't respond)this is the message I keep getting when I do a restart on my laptop.I went to the component service > services (local)> system event notification.. then I click on the event viewer (locals) it gave an error message.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo recently I had hardware issues, and through warranty I had several replacements done. Mobo, Video cards, ram sticks, and the power supply. After all that was fixed and replaced my computer seemed to have ran fine for a few days, and it still technically is except for this problem.The problem is when I log in into windows normally it takes a while for Windows to boot up. I get a "Please wait" screen, then after a long 4 minute log in once inside windows I get the"Windows could not connect to the system event notification service", and the toolbar is grey all old school windows like.

In services the service is called System event notification, it says that the service is running fine. Even when i try to restart it, it makes no difference at all.
My HP with Windows 7 suddenly gives me the following error message on startup: "Failed to connect to a Windows service: Could not connect to System Event Notification Service." Among other things, this prevents me from connecting to my wireless network, so I can't get on-line. Rebooting doesn't help. And the problem occurs regardless of whether I sign on as administrator or as general user.More: I can't access the Windows Help & Support pages. And I'm told to "see System Events log" for details, but when I try, it says "Event Log Service is unavailable."
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have tried each and every one of the solutions on the forums and over here. All my drivers are up to date (double checked), I rolled back and uninstalled all updates, Did sfc /scannow three times and they passed without any integrity violations. I've tried netsh winsock reset as well. The aero is gone, greyed out plus I can't select any other theme and whenever I start up the computer it displays the message "Could not connect to a Windows service".This started happening about 2 months ago when my laptop ran out of battery in hibernate mode. It didn't resume so I had to press the power button again and then it took about 8 minutes to boot with nothing but a black screen and the mouse there. The audio service isn't running every time I boot up (I have to right click and run troubleshooter to start it). I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate on a Sony Vaio VGN-NW25GF. Intel Duo core T6600 and the ATI Radeon HD Graphics 4570 card.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm having some problems with event viewer. When I go to open it, it gives me the "Event Log service is unavailable. Verify that the service is running." error. I've tried going through the steps Microsoft gives for creating new log files if yours are corrupted. Problem is, the .evt file doesn't exist.
I've researched the problem a lot and I do have UxStyle Core installed which is patching the files necessary to install third party themes, and I have heard that this may cause some issues with the event log, but everyone I saw undo any patching and even rollback updates, go to previous restore points, etc.
My HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One printer is no longer printing unless I print a test page from within the HP software. I get the following message "The Active Directory Domain Service is currently unavailable" I have completely uninstalled the printer,downloaded new HP software and reinstalled the printer. I am able to scan to my PC. My other printer is fine.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to run the event log I get the following Event Log service is unavailable. Verify that the service is running. In the services panel it is listed as running. However it is not. I have tried system restore but same issue. I don't know if it could be turned off in the registry or just what would cause this. I think the registry was modified and for some reason I have noticed certain registry entries don't always get restored if you use system restore.

My computer recently started having issues........ here is what is going on:
* boot computer
* Windows boot screen displayed ~ 1 minute
* screen goes black. Can move mouse. Drive light constantly on, not blinking. ~ 5 minutes
* log in screen comes up / log in
* Desktop loads ~ 1 minute > sometimes it loads with regular windows aero theme other times it loads with basic windows classic theme.

* Occasionally the audio service does not work as well...
From when I press the power button to when I can actually use my computer takes 10 - 15 minutes. Here is what I have tried so far:
* Turning off all start up programs / services
* Uninstalled AVG anti virus
* PC Tools Registry mechanic registry clean up
* Tested Memory - passed
* Hard Drive Self Test ---- # 1 - 7 fail / #10008 Fail > I am guessing that this is the source of the problem, however my computer does still work once everything is finally booted. So I don't know what to do with that information or if that test even matters.
* I have tried looking at the event viewer but every time it says that the event log service is unavailable > I try turning on Windows Event Log but that does not change anything
* I tried "netsh winsock reset" in command prompt, based on a different thread that I found - it didn't work

View 2 Replies View RelatedBasically what the title there says, the quotations show the only information given to me on this issue. I've turned off Comodo as I read on a different help topic that they can sometimes interfere,I'm using Home edition, 64 bit, if that helps at all.ackup software to use perhaps? Basically, my computer has had issues with it before (some that have completely stumped even my most tech-savvy friends!) and after multiple instances in the past solved only by a full re-install, I'd like to make sure it -stays- functional, without me having to wipe my drive due to some inexplicable error and fully re-install again.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have tried to install this update six times today (07/05/12) after it was flagged as an important update this morning. Looking at my update history it also failed to instal on the 18th October last year but it has not bothered me since and i have not noticed it until now. Of the seven attempts I had the following error codes from earliest to latest : 800B0100, 80246007, 80010108, 8024200D, 8024200D, 8024200D, 8024200D. I have followed advice from MS running KB947821 and FIX IT also disabled my Norton 360 firewalls and auto protect but to no avail. Also I do not have a DVD with Windows 7 as it was not supplied with my PC and I don't want to restore my computer and lose all my installed software.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Asuru laptop, Windows 7 64-bit with 8 GB RAM.Just bought it 5 days ago. However, recently the booting up process has been horrendously slow, taking ten minutes for even the screen to refresh.I loaded up the laptop in Safe Mode; this seemed to help somewhat. In an attempt to fix the issues, I went to Event Viewer. Was not able to access Event viewer or the information contained within it, was presented with the following message:"Event Log Service is unavailable".
View 6 Replies View RelatedI know this issue is a popular evergreen. But I have done my best to go through this forum and all others to find advice - but this time everything I have read doesnot So once again a thread on temp accounts, HP Elitebook 8540w,Windows 7 professional x64 OEM,local network with XP computers as work group,I use the preinstalled system for a year now, automatic Windows updates were disabled in the recent days, system protected by Avast my personal account with admin rights (I call it "xxx") was on D:users with a link in C:users pointing to it (with mklink /d xxx "d:Usersxxx")this had always worked fine,yesterday my system crashed in a BSOD when loading an online 3D viewer. Not the first bluescreen on this system, but for the first time with lasting effects: when I login to "xxx" I only get a temp account (blank default desktop) and the message that the path c:windowssystem32configsystemprofiledesktop is not accessible. This is still the case. Additionally all new accounts I create start up as temp accounts with the same message. Luckily the original admin account is still alright.(all failed, logging into anything apart from "administrator" opens a temp account and brings up the systemprofiledesktop message!
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble installing sp1 despite other windows updates having been flawless so far. I tried following instructions found at the Windows site but the System Update Readiness Tool didn't find any errors and repair installation aborts. Sorry to bother you with another "sp1 fail" thread but I have exhausted my search options for solution here and in other sites, which makes this request for help my last resort.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a program running that automatically syncs some of my data online. It is running on a computer with Windows 7 Pro as well as a Windows Server 2003 that I use as for file storage. Unfortunately it does not startup until I log into a profile, but since I don't really use these computers, sometimes this doesn't happen for days on end. I decided to create it as a service (used the sc.exe utility - sc create DataBackup binPath= "C:Program FilesData Deposit Boxackup.exe" DisplayName= "Kineticd Backup" start=auto). The service was created successfully, but when I try to start the service, I get the following error.
Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion
On July 12th 2012, my computer installed updates. After rebooting and waiting for me on the login screen, I gave it a hard shutdown to check on the BIOS settings (for a little side project, in the end I did not save any changes). After booting and logging in again, I find that many services are not running. I ran a very thorough check for malware and viruses (took over 24 hours to complete), and still no solutions. I have uninstalled/reinstalled my Broadcom 802.11g Wireless Driver several times.
I now look in the Event Viewer and find that the DHCP Client service is not running! It is set to automatic start in Services.msc, but when I try to manually start it, it gives me error 1075 (some dependencies do not exist or are marked for deletion). Running ipconfig, I notice that my system is using an APIPA-formatted address (169.254.x.x), indicating that the computer couldn't find a DHCP server.
My Event Viewer is peppered with:
Event 7003, Service Control Manager
The DHCP Client service depends the following service: Afd. This service might not be installed.
Event 7001, Service Control Manager
The WinHTTP Web Proxy Auto-Discovery Service service depends on the DHCP CLient service which failed to start because of the following error: The dependcy service does not exist or has been marekd for deletion.
And that keeps repeating many times in a minute (about 30-40 cycles of it).
I have tried connecting to my router with both wireless and lan cable but they both fail. What is strange is that my vista laptop (currently using) has no problems connecting either wirelessly or using the same lan cable as my desktop failed with. My windows 7 desktop was working fine earlier today but after I went out it installed the updates and since then no amount of rebooting or restarting of the router has fixed the problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI booted my computer this morning and I could tell that something wasn't completely right. It took an incredibly long time to get to the user account selection, didn't play the startup sounds, and when I finally log in, the Windows Aero theme had been set to the classic one similar to Windows 2000. I tried to restart the computer and it couldn't do it because it was waiting for the log off sound, which wasn't playing. I clicked force restart and the computer just sat at the desktop. After a hard reboot, I started Windows normally and in the lower right corner I got a message saying that Windows failed to connect to a Windows Service.

After turning on my computer today it fails to connect to the internet or windows service. My computer doesn't acknowledge my internet network and now at the bottom right of my desktop says Windows 7 is not genuine when it is. I did a system restore several days back and the problem still persists. I just failed to use Malwarebytes even in Safe Mode + Networking because it is now corrupt, missing files, or mabservices is down. I did a virus scan with indexes last updated feb 28th and found nothing.

View 1 Replies View Related"Failed to connect to a windows service. Windows could not connect to the System Event Notification Service". This problem prevents standard users from logging on to the system. As an administrative user, you can review the System Event Log for details about why the service didn't respond. This is the error message I receive when I log on to my computer. It doesn't seem to happen every time I log on but probably 50% of the time. When this error appears the only things I seem to notice differently are that the audio doesn't work and the windows tool bar's graphics are basic (as if i was in safe mode).
