I look on the microsoft site and there were language interface packages. I tried one for german and afrikaans and they work fine. The english one however is not there, it takes me to a readme html file for some reason.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm posting this as a help guide for all those out there who have had Windows explorer.exe start doing crazy things. I'm the go to guy for tech problems amongst all of my friends and I've discovered that I'm not the only person with one of these explorer.exe bugs.Firstly I know that explorer.exe is the Windows service controls the UI and allows you to browse files, have icons on your desktop and have a taskbar. However of late bugs have been appearing that are causing it to malfunction in ways that shouldn't be possible.
View 14 Replies View RelatedCurrent situation: When Windows XP boots it displays Windows logo, black screen and then a small error window with title "User Interface Failure" and text "The logon user interface dll msgina.dll failed to load. Contact your system administrator ..." There is a button to restart the system. Booting causes a loop back to the same state; I cannot get the system to boot to safe mode. Other than the lack of a logon and desktop the rest of the boot process seems to continue OK; I can access network shared drives from another system. Using BartPE I can see that msgina.dll is in C:windowssystem32 as it should be. Unfortunately much of the data I need to access for my work is not on shared drives and cannot be accessed by BartPE so I am in big trouble.
Background: The express version of SpyCatcher was installed a few daus ago. All was OK until I restarted the system and arrived at the current situation. I also have BartPE which I have used to look at the SpyCatcher logs and found entries that msgina.dll was quarantined (along with many other safe items). I believe this is the cause of the problem and not anything else.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe Explorer program (%systemdrive%program filesinternet exploreriExplorer.exe) creates the familiar Windows interface, but you can use this setting to specify an alternate interface. If you enable this setting, the system start the interface you specify instead of Explorer.exe.To use this setting, copy your interface program to a network share or to your system drive. Then, enable this setting, and type the name of the interface program, including the file name extension, in the Shell name text box. If the interface program file is not located in a folder specified in the Path environment variable for your system, enter the fully qualified path to the file.If you disable this setting or do not configure it, the setting is ignored and the system displays the Explorer interface.START > RUN > GPEDIT.MSC > USER CONFIGURATION > ADMINISTRATIVE TEMPLATES > SYSTEM > FIND CUSTOM USER INTERFACE > RIGHT CLICK > PROPERTIES > CLICK ENABLE > FIND AN ALTERNATE USER INTERFACE > OK

View 3 Replies View RelatedHave not done any updates lately, nor anything unusual, however, suddenly laptop displays two error messages re/Win logon.exe and Isass.exe failure. Part of the solution noted in the forum was to restart "using last known good configuration", but this doesn't work. It simply attempts to start again and comes up with the error messages again.
View 5 Replies View Relatedafter a few hours my computer slows down and then freezes. The internet and the network interface also doesnt work, meaning I can't ping 127.0.0.1 but for some reason the email still works. When I ping localhost I get a request timed out error. When I try to go to a site an alert pops up in firefox thatthe document contains no data and in IE it simply says server can't be found. I have run spybot, norton, avast, and updated the network card's drivers. I think that the problem with eventually freezing is nortons active protect process which seems to always run at 75% plus.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI can't get past the box that says"Logon User Interface Dll Msgina.dll failed to load. Contact your system administrator to replace the dll or restore the original dll."
Does any body know how to replace the original dll? I tried to run a system recovery on my laptop but I dont know the keys to use.
He is running xp pro and when we start the computer up this is the message we recieve - User interface failure. The logon user interface dll msgina.dll failed to load. Contact your system administrator to replace the DLL, or restore the original DLL. I found this at Microsoft.com http://support.microsoft.com/kb/836683/ and followed the instructions, but when we go to last known good configuration, we recieve the original message again. I've tried to boot in safe mode, and recieve the same message. I searched the forum and found similar cases, except that he does not have a recovery disc. He doesn't know whether the system restore was enabled.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy system uses Intel 810 Motherboard and Penitum -3, 800MHZ processor. I have Windows XP Professional installed. My problem is that the system has slowed down very much. It takes a very long time to even load the interface fully. Most of the programs in Startup (MSConfig)also do not load. I have recently installed Norton 2005. I have scanned the system for Trojans, viruses, SpywareAdware etc. But nothing shows up. Is it because of NAV?? MSConfig/Startup also does not have any unknown entries.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI own a copy of Windows XP SP1 but I want to download and use a customized and slimmed down version. 99% of those you can download will not validate with Windows Genuine Advantage checking so I would like to change the key on one downloaded and use my own legit key. No I don't want to spend the hours to create my own. I can have a real XP copy thats been slimmed for performance by someone who's sharing it with me - I wont get into how or where for reasons I'm sure are obvious.I have that key and an OEM WinXP Home version but that has no key I dont think and I'd have to extract it and work on it - not ready for all that fuss.Guess the question is: Anyone know where I can get the tools to change my Windows OS key out and slipstream mine in? Would Nlite do all of this?I'll keep searching and thank you for any replies.
