ok, after I unzip the program I click on the setup.exe and get this message: "C:WINDOWSSYSTEM32AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for runnung MS-DOS and Mircosoft Windows application. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application." I had this program before so I know it can be run on xp.
View 2 RepliesI'm using Win XP and, using the built in Zip feature,have zipped up 14 files that include one .exe file and one .bas file.When I try to Extract All files it extracts all except these two files.It says that the files have been blocked to protect the computer, then I can click on a link to find out how to unblock the files but the instructions to do so don't make sense.The instructions tell you to save the file, then right click/properties/unblock, but I can't see how you can save a file if it hasn't been unzipped.How can I stop the .exe and .bas files from being blocked
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been using Add/Remove icon in Control Panel to remove programs. Although the Win2k Pro is running fine ,the icon of Add/Remove Program is not opening the next window to remove the programs.
When an attempt is made to access the Internet or open a program, the computer rapidly opens lots of episodes of the same program on its own.Norton Antivirus has been run several times with no virus detected, and Spybot has also been run with no spyware detected. Spyware Blaster also guarding the computer.

When I right click Play or double-click my D and/or E drives after inserting a cd or dvd, I get the message "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel." I have tried several things already including running a thorough cleaning, fixes recommended on the Web including one here and NOTHING works. I cannot burn cds either. Hope someone can help me. I am pretty savvy at following the instructions, even if it includes going into the registry.

However when I close the error message it keeps popping up every 20 seconds or so. When I went to microsofts website that told me that service pack 2 was installed on my pc. I have ran a full viral scan using the latest version of Panda and have also ran Reg-cure to see if the problem was in the registry but the error message still keeps popping up.

First of all this occur cause i was trying to install NET FRAMEWORK 3.0 on my computer but the instalation never ended and it give me some errors, so i uninstall every version of the program trying to reinstall them again (i read this may be a solution (i use add/remove programs and a clean up tool specified for removing net framework)), first i try installing 1.0, but a message says that i already have it installed, then 1.1 which i could install fine, then the SP1 for 1.1 says that i need version 2.0.5556 in order to install this service pack, then i try to install 2.0 but an incompatibility error appears referring that i may have installed " framework 2.0 sp1" (wich i don�t), then i try installing 2.0 sp1 but i get a "setup error" nothing else, same when trying with 3.0.
i have try different things like starting/stopping msiexec (on safe mode), installing and removing net framework several times or trying to install IIS (wich i couldn't cause i dont have the original windows cd) as possible solutions, but this problem is driving me crazy! Is there a solution like uninstalling all, installing all again without format? i think it maybe has something to do with file extensions missing, i read something about MSI files, but im not share.
I can't login to my computer so I was doing a repair with the setup disc and got a registry error.I don't know what to do because I can't log in to fix the problem.

i think it's a compatibility issue but the problem is that i launched the same setup files b4 and they worked,,i have WINXP Pro SP2 and i think i've had this problem after i installed the SP2,,i right-clicked the setup file and i changed some of the compatibility options and it still doesn't work.
Trying to install XP on a SATA W.D. Raptor I've did it before but now when I put the floppy in for the Drivers I keep getting TXTSETUP.OEM missing I've checked the floppy for its contents and it is there, The drive has XP Pro on it now but been running it for a year and like to clean it up.

At first i was able to get to windows setup (Blue screen) when i had the disc and partitioned to install the XP Disc. The computer restarted and i get to "press any key to continue (with the disc)" and i do so and it says "set up is inspecting your computers hardware" and then screen turns black and nothing appears. When i take the disc out it says "Error Loading Operating System". I can't really do much of anything now. Only screen i can get to is f1 to the "bios setup utility".I have an HP a450n.. I keep trying to install .net Framework in order to be able to instal a number of other programs. However, when I try to install Framework, I always get a message saying that an error has occured when trying to create a directory in such and such file an the setup shuts down. i know for sure my account has full admin. rights so I know that can't be the problem. Any idea what I can do? As I said, there are other programs I want to install however they say I require .net Framework to install it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI wrk for a company that has a server with Windows 2003. There are multiple 2000 and XP users who map drives from the server. Now here is where the problem begins. 2000 has no problms at all mapping drives. XP however has an issue with one folder. No matter what letter you pick, when you map the drive you get an error message "Setup requires a different version of windows. Check to make sure you are running setup on the Windows platform for which it is intended. Error 102" First of all im not running any type of setup. Im merely mapping a drive. This error occurs regardless of what drive letter you pick. And the really weird part, is once mapped the drive will open in Explorer or any other mode EXCEPT through My Computer and double clicking on the drive. If you right click the drive and hit open or explore, both will open the drive just fine. You double click and you get the error. When you right click the drive you also get an "autoplay" feature which makes no sense being its a folder on the server.
It acts like it has lost its association. Like if a JPG file is associated with nothing it wont open, but if you tell it to open with paint then it will. Its really weird and after weeks of searching i have found not a single similar problem to this one i can relate or get help from. It just plain makes no sense. I am going to unshare and reshare the folder when everyone leaves and see if that helps, but it works fine in 2000 currently and not in XP just in my computer.
