for some reason i cant find how to enter safe mode on this mobo (its a new computer)ive hit F8 and it just takes me to a boot priority. F10 11 12 arnt for safe mode either.

Oct 23, 2012I've been having an issue with a system error that has given me problems over the past 3 months. As you can see in the attachment, this is what is wee when I either first start up my computer, or I try to print something. Various small differences will show up in the error, such as the weird characters will be in different order etc. When I try first start up my machine and this error pops up, I only have to click okay once for the message to disappear. However, when I try to print, I must click "OK" at least 20 times before the message stops popping up. Its getting annoying and I'm afraid that it will eventually get worse. I've always troubleshooted my own problems, however I'm not even sure where to start as I cant understand the characters or what program could be causing this.

Mar 26, 2012I have Windows 7 on Intel D945GPM MB, 3 GB RAM. System always reboots itself several times duing startup (3-4 times, including 1-2 BSOD). Took 4-5 minutes. After 3-4 times, Windows 7 loads normally, then I can use it the whole day without any problem what-so-ever.
After I shut it down or go into hibernate, then I have to repeat this multiple reboots again each time.
I read extensively about it. If it is driver or hardware issue, I don't understand why it ends up stable after 3-4 times. I don't have any problem with any problem with devices after Windows loads up eventually. The reboots only happens during startup.
Safe mode or Windows repair does not make a difference. I tried them all. It is so strange. I just have to wait for system to reboots itself 3-4 times.

Nov 6, 2009I am running Windows 7 on both my new Desktop and my 2 year old laptop. My laptop was the first to receive the upgrade to 7 and has been working awesomely. The start up is phenomenal and shutdown is no hassle, however my laptop runs on the 32 bit software. Now my desktop, I just recently upgraded it to 7 last week however I haven't noticed the same performance boost as I have on my laptop. I do run 64 bit on my desktop, but I am curious as to why the shutdown and startup times are rather slow.
I have gone as far as to limit the start up programs as well as some of the boot options being the GUI boot and maximizing the number of processors that are used during startup. Sometimes even during the start up the screen goes black for a few minutes after I enter my login password. I have Intel Quad Core 2 with 8GB Ram and TB of Hard Drive space. I just don't understand why it takes much longer to start and shut down when my laptop with less performance can.

Feb 22, 2012start and crawling along at startup. So I adviced he disable all programs except the antivirus at msconfig > startup. Next day he told me this at first worked right, but after another system start, he said the system got unstable with error dialog boxes showing up. My friend says he enabled all those programs back in msconfig > staI've learned a lesson: no matter how insignificant a change to a system, do a system backup, but...isn't it surprising that simply disabling a few programs not to start with windows can create such trouble?.

I have installed VM Workstation 8 and wanted it to load windows 7 or XP at the Start-up like when you turn on the computer it loads/boots automatically in to the virtual OS. Jan 8, 2013For about the past 2 weeks my computer has been becoming slower and slower on startup, and just general usage. And so today I decided to take some actions to try to make it startup faster and just run faster in general. So i ran msconfig, disabled some startup entries and some non microsoft services. Also, knowing that disabling the boot GUI made the computer startup faster, I disabled that also. Then when I went to restart, I ran into problems.
When I turned the computer on I knew it wouldnt show the bootGUI and so I let it just sit and do its thing. After a very long 15 minutes (longer then it ever had been before) with just a black screen, I held the power button to turn it off. Then turned it back on, and got to the windows recovery window. So I hit f8, went into safe mode, loaded up msconfig, and enabled the bootgui, and restarted.
This time it showed the boot gui. However, once the windows logo was shown for about 15 seconds it switched to a screen that said "Windows is loading files" With a loading bar under it. I had never seen this before so I just let it load at first. As I was waiting for it to load I went and got dinner. Roughly 30 minutes later I went back and it was still stuck at not eve 1/4th of the way. So I held the power button again, restarted, went through the whole process again and then it brought up a message that said the communication with the device was gone. And that it happens when you pull a flash drive out or a hard drive or DVD drive looses power.
I do not think that my hard drive is going back. It is about 5 months old. Along with the rest of my computer. Pretty new. 5 months about.

Unable To Startup Repair And System Restore
Jan 15, 2012I recently downloaded a damaged file, which caused my computer (not this one) to be unable to start up normally. The computer now boots up in Startup repair, which is unable to repair my computer "automatically" and when I then click "View advanced options for system recovery and support" and go to the "System restore" tab and choose a Date and time for the restoration, it tells me that "There is not enough free space to restore the disk". I seem to have no options to try and sort out the missing space on the harddisk, which should be unnecessary because I am pretty sure there is still alot of disk space on the C.

Feb 16, 2012i got a hp pavillion running windows 7 i was installing the windows update and pressed restart now, after this the force restart thing came up but i pressed cancel and it didnt like this, after 2 minutes of program errors it restarted and went straight into startup repair. running it on normal mode doesnt work and safe mode is not available. when it runs startip repair it wont fix anything and tells me to restore, i can get to the windows restore part and have restore points but they do not work and an error is shown, x8000xffff if i remember correctly.
