I have a notebook asus that doesn't have a disk drive or whater its called. I accidently turned my computer off while it was just starting to configure windows. I tried to turn it back on but it just says launch star up repair (which says it cant fix the problem) and start windows normally (which just brings it back to the original screen.
Client of mine has bought his notebook ASUS U31S with external DVD drive yesterday and he asked me to install windows 7 ultimate (origin was windows 7 home edition) beside other operating system Linux and Solaris. I divided the 500 GB hard disk but didn't touch the hidden partition that has recovery. I formatted the C partition that had windows 7 home edition and install a fresh copy of windows 7 ultimate,,,the process was smooth , first restart asking about username and computer name, password,,,etc ,,,,but with the second restart, PC kept rebooting without completing the windows installation. Although I have used the same windows 7 CD on his other new laptop and the installation went smooth without any problem. I tried different media same problem. This laptop does have an external DVD driv, of course it is an LG and brand new What could be the cause of this issue?

My computer is supposed to have built-in Bluetooth. The Asus website has a driver update for Windows 7 64-bit, but when I try to install it I get a message that no Bluetooth device was detected.
When I open disk defragmenter it doesn't list my C drive -- which is the primary internal HD on which the OS, windows 7 64 bit, is installed. I have another partition that came with my computer (Dell Studio XPS) on which Dell has some a backup recovery image on, and this drive 'Recovery (D' _does_ show up. Just the 'OS (C' drive does not -- which happens to be the drive I'd like to defrag.I haven't tried any other defrag programs yet. I'm the administrator user on this computer if that's relevent. Also, if I go to properties on my C drive via my computer and click defrag from there, it'll open disk defragmenter and still just list the D drive.
Just upgraded Vista to Win7 (install over) on ASUS F8SN. Looks good except can't install drivers for chipset. It says "ACPI x86 - based PC" no matter what. I downloaded pack from Intel (chipset 965G express). Install seems OK, but device manager still not showing system name.
Reason why I care is because CPU throttling does not seem to work. On any power profile CPU clock always is at the top range I specify in the profile.
I guess two questions, how do I force chipset driver and what's preventing CPU throttling?

My touchpad (built into the notebook) works fine on the login screen. As soon as I hit the login button it stops totally. Buttons and touchpad. Also my screensaver works before login (on login screen) but once logged in it won't auto start but will start under 'preview'. Windows 7 home premium 64.

The Random Freezing occurs since July/August 2011, it occurs when I used Skype/Gaming/Browing videos streaming, since thats the major things I do.I had formatted my laptop and installed a new copy but Doesnt help. Ram: Tested ok HDD : Tested ok
Firstly, the system was running fine, so they did a format but when I bought it home, the freeze occured, Then they changed the hard disk even though it was tested ok, but the freeze occurred.Followed by the whole motherboard was changed, and yet the freeze occur So I was told not to install and drivers, using the generic drivers that were already installed in my system + the latest ATI driver, it was working fine, for 2 days, However I noticed after the windows update where SP1 was installed, my system starts to freeze again.

My notebook as two graphics cards. The default Intel Onboard card and the more powerful 1GB nVidia GeForce GT425M 1GB video card. Before the upgrade (which was a clean install) when I played a game (left 4 dead2, call of duty: black ops) the notebook automatically switched from the Intel to the Nvidia graphics card. But it doesn't anymore. I have read that my notebook used Nvidia Optimus technology to do this.

I've installed ASUS Wi-Fi USB adapter (model USB-N13) for LAN. There is Windows 7 Home Premium x64. Through control panel I see that adapter works normally and the drivers are the latest. However my PC doesn't see the adapter - the ASUS utility notices me "ASUS Wireless LAN card is taken apart from your desktop PC".I have the same Wi-Fi adapter at another my PC with Windows 7 Home Basic, and everything works nice. Of course I changed these adapters between my computers. Conclusion is both adapters are working good. The same models, the same drivers. Actually I don't understand where is the mistake?
I'm trying to fix my mums laptop for her, it's an Asus X5DIJ operating on windows 7, she has only had it a few weeks but her trial month of anti virus had run out and she was having a few probs with it so I tried to restore it to an earlier point as i thought she might have a virus, it took over an hour to do this and appeared to have frozen so i switched the power button off!!!! i now realise that was a big mistake as when it restarted i was getting a whole load of error message with missing .dll files and not being able to do a lot of things so i tried undoing the restore but it wouldn't allow it as it said restore was still running, i also tried a different restore point but it wouldn't allow that either... I then tried the repair computer options at the boot menu but it didn't work either so I thought i might as well just restore it to factory settings as she hadn't had it long enough to have put much on it anyway.... the recovery disk gets to 32% and then spits the disk out with this message Failed to restore disk from the Asus Recovery DVD Error code is :-3 I have tried it a few times and this is what happens each time, i have also tried just putting the next disk in (3rd out of 4) but it just reboots and wants to start the whole process again.I have the number to call asus support but they are closed today, also the recovery disks are not supplied by the manufacturer but instead on initial start up you are asked to make your own but i didn't do that as my cousin has the exact same laptop so I used his disks..
I have an EeePC t91mt with a 32gb solid state hard drive which is too small for my needs. Can I upgrade it to 100+gb.if yes, what drives are compatible.Has any one upgraded their machine? I have already upgraded the memory.
I cannot access my cd rom drive. I look in the drive section under computers and I see the C drive and the D recovery drive but no cd rom drive. I go to device manager and don't see anything relating to a cd rom drive. I have an HP Pavillion Notebook DV 9810 US and the cd rom drive itself is Lightscribe. I have tried to go into the registry through cmd, regedit and control etc but found no upper filter nor lower filter to delete. Instead when I click on the last folder,4d36e965 I see 0000 and properties. In the upper right I see default, class, class desc, enum prop pages, icon path, installer 32, no install class, silent install.
