New ASUS Notebook Doesn't Complete Windows 7 Installation
Jan 27, 2012
Client of mine has bought his notebook ASUS U31S with external DVD drive yesterday and he asked me to install windows 7 ultimate (origin was windows 7 home edition) beside other operating system Linux and Solaris.
I divided the 500 GB hard disk but didn't touch the hidden partition that has recovery.
I formatted the C partition that had windows 7 home edition and install a fresh copy of windows 7 ultimate,,,the process was smooth , first restart asking about username and computer name , password,,,etc ,,,,but with the second restart, PC kept rebooting without completing the windows installation.
Although I have used the same widnows 7 CD for his other new laptop and the installation went smooth without any problem.
I tried different media same problem. This laptop does have an external DVD driv, of course it is an LG and brand new

I have a notebook asus that doesn't have a disk drive or whater its called. I accidently turned my computer off while it was just starting to configure windows. I tried to turn it back on but it just says launch star up repair (which says it cant fix the problem) and start windows normally (which just brings it back to the original screen.
My computer is supposed to have built-in Bluetooth. The Asus website has a driver update for Windows 7 64-bit, but when I try to install it I get a message that no Bluetooth device was detected.
Windows 7 has suddenly started freezing in the boot-up process. The system hangs when it comes to starting two weather-related services - didn't used to be that way. When the weather services don't load, nothing else - IE, MS Outlook - can be started - they hang as well.
something shut down my new laptop when i went to put on for some reason it needed to reinstall windows 7 home premium.... after loading windows files appears ....then it stops says please wait..... the screen goes black then reads setup is starting services a box appears andsays ........windows could not complete the installation............i push OK...it then says to install windows on this computer restart installation ............th;is happens over and over again....and nothing more........i have tried a restore, systems check, tried to open in safe mode,....
Just got a new HP laptop for Christmas (yeah. It's not even 7 on Christmas morning and I'm already having problems.) I've seen a lot of people with this problem, but I can't fix it the way they did. "Windows could not complete installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart the installation." Here's the catch:I can't start it in Safe Mode.I can't access task manager.F11 does nothing.I've tried alt+tab to see if these things are running in the background; they're not.I don't have any disks. It's an HP Pavilion dv7, and I got it refurbished.
I have just restored my c drive and now during setup is preparing your computer for first use a message appears saying windows could not complete the installation. To install windows on this computer, restart the installation. It shows this message everytime I startup and keeps resetting the computer
I had a Windows 7 installation but then installed Windows 8 over it, a few weeks ago.I felt like my computer was getting too bulky and slow, so I decided to restore it to the factory conditions (system restore) by using my Windows 7 recovery disc. The restore finished and restarted, and went right to the Windows 7 loading screen, where it ended in this error message: Quote: Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart the installation. I can't restart the installation though, since the "System Restore" option is grayed out on the Windows 7 recovery disc.
Error: Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart installation. Then it gives me the option to select ok, but when I do, it will keep repeating itself. The pc will not do anything else. I have tried F2 and selecting some options, but its still the same thing. I guess what I am trying to say, its that it does nothing else but repeat itself. I do not know what else to try.
so i was trying to do a clean reinstall of windows. so all was good till i got to the completing installation part where it just stoped and said windows could not complete installation restart and try again
after this is said setup is starting services then a pop up comes up saying windows could not complete installation. to install windows on this computer , restart theinstallation. after i restarted my labtop the same thing pops up and it loops this message and my system is a windows 7home p 64bit
I am totally at my wits end. Been trying to get Windows 7 Home Edition to work on my pc for the last 4 days but no joy.I installed it first on Sunday, which worked, loaded up and I started putting on my antivirus, updating graphics drivers and windows updates. Then, it all froze on me, and since then I have been unable to load Windows 7 at all. I assumed it was down to a corrupt download/update it had done, so I tried the Repair option on the Windows 7 disc. No fix there. So, I decided to format the drive, and redo a clean install, but now, it reaches Completing Installation stage, and either goes into a reboot loop, over and over, or it reaches the Setting Registry Settings, and then goes into a reboot loop. I've tried so many options through the google sites, but nothing is making it work again. Can anyone advise me what to do to fix this and get it working again?
I am trying to install my windows 7 and it wont complete the setup. After all the files load from my original disks, the computer restarts and starts the setup but its been a blank screen for over 2 hours now and still nothing. I can use the restore from an image file and it sets up in 30 minutes and works but i have no home group setup and cant read some external hard drives right so I wanted to try a clean install. The computer is a Gateway 64 bit.
I have an Acer aspire 5732z windows 7 computer I tried to restore to factory settings from the same computer Everything was going well, but near the end of the installation appears like Windows can't complete the instalation because of some error! I have tried many times to reinstall it in all modes but I gets the point where tells me to reestar again and again?
i have a problem..my labtop isnt starting up. its constantly telling me that windows couldnt complete the installation. to install windows on this computer, restart the installation.
My sister has a miniHP 110, which was experiencing virus troubles, so I offered to do a factory restore. I have used that option several times on my regular HP laptop with no issues, but on her's, it's giving me the error message 'Windows cannot complete the installation in safe mode. to continue installing windows, restart the computer.' It goes on in a loop. I've tried booting it in safe mode, but to no avail. I've been playing around with it for a couple of days, and got to the screen where you choose accounts from. It said the account had been disabled, and to check with my administrator. I would go through the trouble of getting a windows 7 disk, but with this version of HPmini, there is no disk drive. I'm at a complete loss, is there anything I can do?
Trying to complete installation set up on my laptop for windows 7 professional. Accidentally turned off and wont complete installation even after restarting. The same message keeps coming back again and again.I do have the CD but I am unable to go past that message to attempt to reinstall.
Model: Asus F6VE Processor : P8800 @2.66GHz Installed Ram: 4 GB (3GB Usable) Graphics: ATI HD4570 System Type: Windows 7 Professional 32bit
The Random Freezing occurs since July/August 2011, it occurs when I used Skype/Gaming/Browing videos streaming, since thats the major things I do.I had formatted my laptop and installed a new copy but Doesnt help. The probelm had already occurred 2 months. So I bought down to ASUS since it was under warranty.
Ram: Tested ok HDD : Tested ok
Firstly, the system was running fine, so they did a format but when I bought it home, the freeze occured, Then they changed the hard disk even though it was tested ok, but the freeze occurred.Followed by the whole motherboard was changed, and yet the freeze occur So I was told not to install and drivers, using the generic drivers that were already installed in my system + the latest ATI driver, it was working fine, for 2 days, However I noticed after the windows update where SP1 was installed, my system starts to freeze again.
I need to install windows 7 home premium 64 bit OS in ASUS A42JK notebook. My backup recovery was deleted & i don't have any backup CD/DVD to re-install. I did the new installation with WIndows 7 premium 64 bit OS DVD, after completed the installtion and gets restated. It displaying the error and not booting inside. where to download the Windows 7 OS for ASUS.
- build a system with 1 WD1101FALS HDD and installed Windows 7 64 bit no problem. All was good for few days until I got a bug to set up a RAID 10.
- Went out bought 3 more of the same drives. All 4 drives are WD1101FALS 1TB.
- Set up the RAID 10 array on the ASUS motherboard, got the RAID drives for Win7 64bit on a USB key.
- Start install, no problem. Win7 asks for drivers, I click browse and select the drives from USB for the RAID. Install continues, files are copied, thing are flying, it's fast.
- Then 1st re-start
- Windows continues to install (finalizing things, registry update, etc).
- I get to 4 check marks on the Windows Install screen and then it goes into the last step "Completing Installation". The progress bar goes to about 80% complete and then
BLACK SCREEN, computer re-starts. Windows comes up with a message "The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation can not proceed. etc.." It assks to press OK and and PC re-starts and the installation re-starts from scratch. I tried about 15 times, with different RAID drives, from XP to Vista, to Win7.
I have no clue what else I can try. Usually people have problem with the RAID drives but I have no problem with that step. The drivers are selected and seem to be working fine. The install almost completes.
Here are the images on how far along the install goes. The progress bar actually goes more than that, I just took a picture before the black screen.
So i have a new SSD Corsair Force 3 240 gig and all I want to do is install Windows 7 Pro on it. This board does not support parted magic (cannot wake from sleep and there are no onboard video to wake up to) so ive resorted to clean all.I have not been able to successfully boot the OS on the SSD. I never intended on setting up raid but apparently all the literature i see is on raid. I created a USB install disk as reccomended onto a 8gig ntfs primary active did the bootsect /nt60 X: and it successfully worked copied the cd over to the flash drive and copied the rste drivers in a folder called drivers My SSD is installed on port 1 6gig sata intel (as this board doesnt have marvel apparrently) My DVD is installed on 3gig Sata port 6 I set up Raid in the bios as reccomended by others (as this is the only way to install ssd?).
Nothing UEFI is enabled There are no other drives hooked up to the computer. Just SSD, USB cordless mouse, keyboard and no network cord or WIFI i started with a clean ssd as reccomended my bios recognized the ssd on post i booted into the win 7 install (MBR not uefi) i loaded the 64 bit rste drivers from asus as reccomended by others i left the machine to install the usb then booted into windows install (for whatever reason) i pushed f8 to boot my corsair windows brings up an error on a black screen File: windows/system32/drivers/adpahci.sys driver did not load Status: oxc0000221 Info: Windows Failed to load because of a critical system driver is missing or corrupt
First, my laptop is a Aspire 5250-BZ853. I received it back in October, I think...may've been earlier. But anyhow, it was working just fine yesterday until I did a Windows Update. I had to restart, and it was fine again. But then it began running sluggishly slow, and just terrible overall so I restarted it once more and that was when the problems began.
This entire day, this has been driving me nuts. I have important files on here, and I backed up most on my external harddrive a bit ago but there were a few I missed and hadn't the chance to get (ironically enough the most important, papers and such.) At first, it said my password was wrong -- as if someone had changed it! I restarted it once more, thinking it an error or something, and did that again so I restarted it again. Finally, it worked but I think it logged me in as safe mode somehow. After that, it restarted on its own and began this loop. I did a LOT of searching on Google until finally someone suggested to someone else to try pressing "ALT + F10" I think it was as it was starting, and finally I made progress. Before that, it was just going into a constant rebooting loop and I couldn't even log into safe mode. Trying to reset it back to a time it was working was futile, because it said there was no recovery time there! So that shot that idea down. At last, I got somewhere.as well. I clicked the reset to factory settings, but still keep all the files (and they would be saved to "C:Backup" and I thought it had finally worked. But now as it reinstalls, I got an error saying something about how it needed to restart or something...so when I clicked "okay" it began again, and finally it all just came to a stop on "Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart the installation."
Setup is starting services.Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart the installation.About one month ago I decided I wanted to have a clean install of windows 7 on my acer machine. I did this by using an acer made pre-installed program. It claims to be very straightforward, all you have to do is click a button and they will reinstall windows 7 for you and even back up all your data ,so that after the clean install you don't lose a thing. Sounded great but in reality it has stopped my notebook from working.I am now in a circle-jerk of the error message I stated in the beginning of this topic. Once my computer restarts it just gets me the same error message again. I tried booting from a bootable USB-key with the windows 7 iso downloaded from official sources. But this did not do anything from me. I also went to acer support in my city. They offered me to fix it. All they had to do is copy all the info of my hard drive I wanted to keep and do a fresh install of windows 7. Would take them 3 hours. This is the easyiests option for me. But problem is I live in China and I don't trust those tech support guys for good reasons. I went there with my laptop, the tech-support guy put in a usb-key and started up my computer. It started some kind of diagnostics. After 20 minutes of this he stopped the diagnostics and started running some chinese software on my computer. Presumably booting from the USB-key. After a couple of clicks he was browsing around on my hard-drive. I was right behind him and could see him every move. He was snooping around my folders looking for all sorts of personal stuff. He was going to folders he had no business going to. I think he thought I had no idea what he was doing or would not recognize he was snooping around on my computer. At one point he went into a folder and told him not to go there in chinese. He quickly exited, but then couple of seconds later went back to that same folder to do some looking around. Presumably cause he thought I would not notice. So I do not trust these people one bit. And would not want him to copy all the info of my hard drive to then re-install windows7.
We took his computer back to factorysettings however when the system is trying to install Windows 7 we keep getting an error: Windows could not complete the installation. To install windows on this computer, restart the installation. How would I do that? I have tried safe mode but it won't let you install in safe mode, when shutting off the system or restartingit always gets to setup is starting services page and then the error message.
Just upgraded Vista to Win7 (install over) on ASUS F8SN. Looks good except can't install drivers for chipset. It says "ACPI x86 - based PC" no matter what. I downloaded pack from Intel (chipset 965G express). Install seems OK, but device manager still not showing system name.
Reason why I care is because CPU throttling does not seem to work. On any power profile CPU clock always is at the top range I specify in the profile.
I guess two questions, how do I force chipset driver and what's preventing CPU throttling?
I installed windows 7 version 64 bits in my M50VN but I see some problems with my notebook.
I installed windows vista x64 drivers from asus CD and of the site of asus, but I continue with problems in some hardware components
