Asus Notebook Doesn't Recognize Bluetooth Hardware?
Dec 24, 2011
My computer is supposed to have built-in Bluetooth. The Asus website has a driver update for Windows 7 64-bit, but when I try to install it I get a message that no Bluetooth device was detected.
I have a notebook asus that doesn't have a disk drive or whater its called. I accidently turned my computer off while it was just starting to configure windows. I tried to turn it back on but it just says launch star up repair (which says it cant fix the problem) and start windows normally (which just brings it back to the original screen.
Client of mine has bought his notebook ASUS U31S with external DVD drive yesterday and he asked me to install windows 7 ultimate (origin was windows 7 home edition) beside other operating system Linux and Solaris. I divided the 500 GB hard disk but didn't touch the hidden partition that has recovery. I formatted the C partition that had windows 7 home edition and install a fresh copy of windows 7 ultimate,,,the process was smooth , first restart asking about username and computer name, password,,,etc ,,,,but with the second restart, PC kept rebooting without completing the windows installation. Although I have used the same windows 7 CD on his other new laptop and the installation went smooth without any problem. I tried different media same problem. This laptop does have an external DVD driv, of course it is an LG and brand new What could be the cause of this issue?

Just upgraded Vista to Win7 (install over) on ASUS F8SN. Looks good except can't install drivers for chipset. It says "ACPI x86 - based PC" no matter what. I downloaded pack from Intel (chipset 965G express). Install seems OK, but device manager still not showing system name.
Reason why I care is because CPU throttling does not seem to work. On any power profile CPU clock always is at the top range I specify in the profile.
I guess two questions, how do I force chipset driver and what's preventing CPU throttling?
I installed windows 7 version 64 bits in my M50VN but I see some problems with my notebook.

My touchpad (built into the notebook) works fine on the login screen. As soon as I hit the login button it stops totally. Buttons and touchpad. Also my screensaver works before login (on login screen) but once logged in it won't auto start but will start under 'preview'. Windows 7 home premium 64.

I have been using a HP DV3 Pavillion Note Book for last year and a half, which has bluetooth connectivity. It runs on Windows7 Home Premium OS. For the last several months, my note book cannot connect to any other bluetooth device in its vicinity, nor other devices can connect to it. Even in the notification area bluetooth icon no longer appears. It is as if bluetooth software has simply disappeared. HP Wireless assistant shows that bluetooth has been disabled. The wireless assistant screen does not show any button to enable it. What could be the problem?
I can only seem to find ones that are for Ipads and such. Anybody able to direct me to some that can be used to pair with a laptop? I already have a bluetooth mouse, i just need a keyboard.
I cant install my bluetooth driver to my HP notebook I connected my phone with bluetooth on but it is still saying I have to connect my bluetooth divice.

The Random Freezing occurs since July/August 2011, it occurs when I used Skype/Gaming/Browing videos streaming, since thats the major things I do.I had formatted my laptop and installed a new copy but Doesnt help. The probelm had already occurred 2 months. So I bought down to ASUS since it was under warranty.
Ram: Tested ok HDD : Tested ok
Firstly, the system was running fine, so they did a format but when I bought it home, the freeze occured, Then they changed the hard disk even though it was tested ok, but the freeze occurred.Followed by the whole motherboard was changed, and yet the freeze occur So I was told not to install and drivers, using the generic drivers that were already installed in my system + the latest ATI driver, it was working fine, for 2 days, However I noticed after the windows update where SP1 was installed, my system starts to freeze again.

I just built a new computer with a Gigabyte Z68A-D3H-B3 motherboard but ir wont recognize my Asus GTX560 Video Card.I have checked all the bios settings and have installed all the drivers.
I recently upgraded to Windows 7 Proffesional x64. I used the Asus CD to install all Asus stuff. Even the ones I don't need.
My notebook as two graphics cards. The default Intel Onboard card and the more powerful 1GB nVidia GeForce GT425M 1GB video card. Before the upgrade (which was a clean install) when I played a game (left 4 dead2, call of duty: black ops) the notebook automatically switched from the Intel to the Nvidia graphics card. But it doesn't anymore. I have read that my notebook used Nvidia Optimus technology to do this.
Here is my TSG SysInfo log: Code: Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.2 OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional, Service Pack 1, 64 bit Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU M 460 @ 2.53GHz, Intel64 Family 6 Model 37 Stepping 5 Processor Count: 4 RAM: 6764 Mb Graphics Card: Intel(R) HD Graphics, -937 Mb Hard Drives: C: Total - 153499 MB, Free - 82492 MB; D: Total - 434874 MB, Free - 294610 MB; Motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer Inc., N53Jf Antivirus: Kaspersky Anti-Virus, Updated and Enabled
When I try to use something on Internet Explorer that requires Flash, it always says "Flash Version 9.0 or greater is required.." But I always keep my Flash updated. Right now, it's Flash Player 11.
I assume I have a hardware problem with my DVD RW DRIVE (E) and will have to spend money to fix it or most likely replace it, but when i insert a cd into it i can hear the noise of what sounds like the driver trying to read the cd but thats it... nothing else happends. I have a dell M1330 XPS (5yrs old) using Vista 32bit. The drive is MATSHITA DVD +-RW UJ-857G ATA and its status is "This device is working properly." (which i certainly take issue with).
i just installed win7 64-bit. i have a core i5 with 8GB RAM. the computer doesn't seem to recognize all 8GB. it says there is only 4GB installed. i thought that win7 could go way beyond the 4GB limit of vista. does anyone have any suggestions on how i can get my pc to recognize and utilize all my RAM?
another thing i noticed, is that win7 seems to run my GPU (Nvidia gtx 260) hotter. its running at idle with limited apps at ~38 C compared to vista which ran at 33-35 C. anyone know why win7 runs "hotter" than vista? i thought it was supposed to be more efficient?
I've had a Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 for a short time, and had no problems initially in setting it up with my Acer Aspire 5740G notebook. Recently the mouse stopped working, however it is still showing up in the list of devices. Right-clicking on the mouse's icon does not show a remove or delete menu item, so I can't attempt to re-add the mouse as a new Bluetooth device.Other Bluetooth devices still work with the notebook, and the mouse still works with my PS3, so I don't think it's a hardware problem. How can I remove the device from the list of devices, so I can try to add it again? Or is there some other way I can try to get the mouse working again?
