I recently upgraded to Windows 7 Proffesional x64. I used the Asus CD to install all Asus stuff. Even the ones I don't need.
My notebook as two graphics cards. The default Intel Onboard card and the more powerful 1GB nVidia GeForce GT425M 1GB video card. Before the upgrade (which was a clean install) when I played a game (left 4 dead2, call of duty: black ops) the notebook automatically switched from the Intel to the Nvidia graphics card. But it doesn't anymore. I have read that my notebook used Nvidia Optimus technology to do this.

I have been looking all over the internet for my problem but did not find any solution.Hope you guys can help me. PROBLEM:-I have a HP pavilion dv6 notebook PC.It has two graphics -ATI MOBILITY RADEON HD 5650 and INTEL HD 3000. I recently installed COMODO firewall.After a few days I uninstalled it.After uninstalling it ,now i cant switch between the two graphics. Before,to switch between graphics all I had to do was go to desktop,right click and select "Configure Graphics Properties".But the main problem is when i right click on desktop,I do not get the "Configure Graphics Properties".Please help me I reinstalled Catalyst Control Center but nothing happened.I recently bought Max Payne 3 but cannot play because I cannot switch my graphics.
I've got problem on my laptop since build 69XX, now I'm on RC and problem is still here... Power plan settings doesn't contains Max CPU usage option and computer runs at full 1,6GHz on any power plan.

I tried to turn it back on but it just says launch star up repair (which says it cant fix the problem) and start windows normally (which just brings it back to the original screen.

I divided the 500 GB hard disk but didn't touch the hidden partition that has recovery. I formatted the C partition that had windows 7 home edition and install a fresh copy of windows 7 ultimate,,,the process was smooth , first restart asking about username and computer name, password,,,etc ,,,,but with the second restart, PC kept rebooting without completing the windows installation. Although I have used the same windows 7 CD on his other new laptop and the installation went smooth without any problem. I tried different media same problem. This laptop does have an external DVD driv, of course it is an LG and brand new What could be the cause of this issue?

I have a HP G62-225DX Notebook. My Notebook doesn't go forward after displaying ress esc key for startup menu". I press esc key but when I press f11, it doesn't run recovery which I have in e drive. All I see is a blinking curosr "-" and notebook doesn't go forward. Is there a way I can run recovery from e drive.

I have an Acer aspire 5732z windows 7 computer I tried to restore to factory settings from the same computer Everything was going well, but near the end of the installation appears like Windows can't complete the instalation because of some error! Whenever I switch user accounts the computer will start the switch and then lock up with a display message that says no signal on the monitor. It happens if the computer has been running for hours or only a couple of minutes. I have to shut the PC off and leave it off for 20-30 minutes. I can then restart and enter any user account. But if I try to switch user or logoff and pick a different user the whole cycle begins anew.
I just tried to install an old IDE hard drive (via a SATA converter card ) as a slave and managed to screw up windows 7 boot-up. The system initially booted up fine but didn't see the new drive. After checking to see if all the ports were enabled in the bios I tried again. The system then didn't see any hard drives. I pulled out the IDE and re-started. The system now will see the boot hard drive but will not boot in either safe or normal modes.
My comp broke down recently & I decided to built a new one, probably not necessary but I will add the specs below: [code] I had an old ATI Graphic Card Radeon X1300/X1500 (busted now) series card installed in my old pc, which would allow me to plug my TV with DVI-I & I could use my 23" Monitor through VGA cable in extended monitor. (& screen not referring to Cloning)However the Intel 3000 Graphic Card I am using lags alot when I play HD movies, but more importantly it doesn't allow me to use my TV output as Theater Mode.Where you play movie or video on small screen window on your primary monitor while it plays full screen on secondary screen. in ATI Cards its called Theater Mode while in Nvidia its called "Video Mirroring".Problem is New ATI or Nvidia Cards don't come with these feature anymore, I have Redeon 6790 card available but it doesn't have Theater Mode feature available, I have done 3 days worth of research so Nvidia stop the Video Mirroring feature by GForce 76xx series & ATI sort of ended by 4xxx Redeon. (I Believe)I need help finding a fast enough card that still provides Theater Mode (in 64 xp OR win 7) it can't be too old cause I do alot of Photoshop + HD Movies.
I tried using softwares like Ultra-Mon, Fusion Display & Secondary Display Video Player etc tweaked all the settings with Video Overlay etc. concluded that Intel HD Graphics series is biggest pieces of dog poo cards ever built.So please advise me which card to get which is old but fast enough & have Theater Mode or Video Mirroring feature.. (price range isn't issue nor manufacturer) however I do need to work on 64 bit to get full speed of both my processor & ram.
I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate (Build 7000) on an lenovo pc (Intel Pentium 4 - 2.8GHz, 2.00 GB RAM). my pc's actual graphics card is "Intel 82865G Graphics Controller" but windows 7 loads it as "standard VGA graphics card" which gives me a very very bad video quality but computer works great. HOWEVER,when i update video graphics back to my "Intel 82865G Graphics Controller" & play any video, the video quality is excellent & direct 3d & hardware acceleration starts working contrary to "standard VGA graphics card" but gives major computer operation problems. For e.g., As soon as i resize my VLC interface or run any other media players (like powerdvd or windows media players etc), the computer either gets stuck/hung or it shows a blue screen message saying "disable bios memory such as caching or shadowing" OR "page_fault_in_nonpaged_area" & lots of other explorer based problems.i tried changing various 3d settings in opengl as well, but in vain.
I use windows 7.When I turn on laptop (acer Aspire 5742) cannot connect to internet until I switch user and log in again. Soon as I touch any browser icon the rest of computer stops responding as well. It's only me on computer. Have virgin media security/ spyware/ virus protection. Tried CCleaner. After I switch user everything is fine.Additional info; On 16th October had great difficulty getting my emails from Yahoo. Sometimes sign-in box appeared without my security signature and different style of writing for browser remembered log-on details.

In my windows 7 rating i have got 6.3 in gaming graphics but in graphics i have got only 4.9. Why this is happening? A graphics card which is good for gaming is that not good for desktop aero graphics?
anyone knows how the HD 2500 compares to the 3000 and 4000? I'm mostly looking for improved video transcoding compared to my Pentium G620 and don't really need the "gaming" graphics capabilities. But I haven't been able to find any information as to how the HD 2500 compare.
I've completed a new custom build, but have had problems with BSOD from the beginning with any installation of Intel Graphics drivers or the installation of any graphics card.
When I first completed the build, the XFX-7950 Black was installed. I booted to BIOS without issue, but when I inserted the Windows 7 (64 bit) it would boot through the windows logo screen but immediately BSOD right after going to the first install screen.
I removed the graphics card, and was able to complete the full Windows install without issue. I updated Windows and the drivers on the system but as soon as I installed the Intel 3000 Graphics driver, it would BSOD on every restart. I recovered back prior to the Graphics driver install and installed all other drivers. I updated the BIOS to the latest version.
I have reattempted the XFX 7950 multiple times in different slots, but with the same results. I also attempted my Radeon HD 4550 from my old computer but it gave the same results. It always boots through the Windows logo screen, but BSOD within a few seconds of reaching the password screen.
I broke down and installed Driver Whiz, which did detect multiple outdated drivers that I had not caught, but none of these fix the issues.
I've attached the requested zip. I don't think all BSOD's are showing up, as I've had to use recovery points after installed drivers didn't work. The last .dmp on 19 JUL was a Intel Graphics driver install attempt that I pulled off in safe mode before recovering back to the pre-driver point.
