BSOD Mostly While Gaming (has Been In To Asus Twice For Repair)?
Jun 6, 2012I have been suffering from sporadic BSOD mostly while gaming for some time. My computer has a terrible gpu so I thought that was the cause and it was getting up to some very high temperatures, but I sent the computer in to Asus and they replaced the fan and some cooling parts and the computer doesnt run hot any more but then I started to get Bad Pool Caller and page fault BSODs. I sent it in again and they replaced the hard drive. I have had it back for less than a week and the BSODs are back.

CPU Throttling For Asus F8SN Notebook?
Apr 10, 2011Just upgraded Vista to Win7 (install over) on ASUS F8SN. Looks good except can't install drivers for chipset. It says "ACPI x86 - based PC" no matter what. I downloaded pack from Intel (chipset 965G express). Install seems OK, but device manager still not showing system name.
Reason why I care is because CPU throttling does not seem to work. On any power profile CPU clock always is at the top range I specify in the profile.
I guess two questions, how do I force chipset driver and what's preventing CPU throttling?
Asus M50Vn Notebook Drivers
Jun 27, 2009I installed windows 7 version 64 bits in my M50VN but I see some problems with my notebook.
I installed windows vista x64 drivers from asus CD and of the site of asus, but I continue with problems in some hardware components
Multimedia Touchpad - only of the one for basic operations, dont work function the operations to player. for example windows media player
Keyboard - some keys dont word for exemple "FN" actions , the interaction keys those that allow disconnect touchpad and to change mode of the battery, display settings and etc...
Camera - Have bad and poor qualitity of the image
Microphone - Dont work, i cant use .

I formatted the C partition that had windows 7 home edition and install a fresh copy of windows 7 ultimate,,,the process was smooth , first restart asking about username and computer name, password,,,etc ,,,,but with the second restart, PC kept rebooting without completing the windows installation. Although I have used the same windows 7 CD on his other new laptop and the installation went smooth without any problem. I tried different media same problem. Jan 8, 2012i have a system which i got 1 month ago and it was stable and good till recently i started getting BSOD at random times , i tried to update my bios as most were saying but i couldnt because whenever i click on bios update utilite i get black screen! with no respond (i tried the updating from bios not windows Asus dont offer bios update from inside windows ) however . i noticed i get this bluescreen often when playing shogun 2 but in general i still get BSOD when doing other stuff at random times (ex: other games/work on office package) also sometimes when i play other games i either get BSOD or a sudden system lag where everything stops with a noisy sound coming from my speaker.
btw : in my BSOD i get the famous physical memory dump 100% line at the bottom
and i also updated my graphics drivers and rolled back to the old stable one but with no use

The Random Freezing occurs since July/August 2011, it occurs when I used Skype/Gaming/Browing videos streaming, since thats the major things I do.I had formatted my laptop and installed a new copy but Doesnt help. The probelm had already occurred 2 months.So I bought down to ASUS since it was under warranty.
Ram: Tested ok
HDD : Tested ok
Firstly, the system was running fine, so they did a format but when I bought it home, the freeze occured, Then they changed the hard disk even though it was tested ok, but the freeze occurred.Followed by the whole motherboard was changed, and yet the freeze occur So I was told not to install and drivers, using the generic drivers that were already installed in my system + the latest ATI driver, it was working fine, for 2 days, However I noticed after the windows update where SP1 was installed, my system starts to freeze again.

Windows 7 picked up the headset fine and everything has been working "straight out of the box".
I only had to change the name of the device in audio properties to distinguish between speakers and headset. Mic has worked perfectly and sounds fine with no adjustments. (Tested on ventrillo)
The only thing drivers/package seems to offer is changing EQ settings or various "technologies" available which im not interested in.
or is there something else i'm missing which I would need the drivers for?
