My touchpad (built into the notebook) works fine on the login screen. As soon as I hit the login button it stops totally. Buttons and touchpad. Also my screensaver works before login (on login screen) but once logged in it won't auto start but will start under 'preview'. Windows 7 home premium 64.

My wife's Samsung notepad keyboard and touchpad have stopped working. The odd thing is that the keyboard does work at startup - I can press F4, arrows, Enter, etc to start up in safe mode, but still the keyboard and touchpad do not work as soon as we get to the login screen. I have tried system restore, unplugging the cord and battery. At the moment I can get it to work using a USB mouse and the on-screen keyboard
View 1 Replies View Relatedin past I did have this problem with Windows 7, and now that I came back (was on XP Sp3), they annoying me again.I have a DELL Vostro 1510. Sometimes, after I turn on the computer and it loads my desktop, the keyboard doesn't work. The weird thing is that the media keys are working fine all the time, however all the letters, caps lock, num lock, F1-F12... well, every single key simply doesn't respond.So I go and check it on the "device manager", and it shows I have a keyboard installed. I scan for hardware changes... and no changes detected... The driver is there, the hardware is perfect (I never had these issues while on XP, and I was with 7 on past, did have these problems, then did migrate to XP, and now back to 7 and having it again).
I know how to solve it... I simply need to go to the device manager, click on uninstall and then "scan hardware for changes" and it comes back to life. If that doesn't work, just need to reboot and Windows 7 install the driver for me (after uninstalling it, of course).The annoying thing is that I don't want to do those steps... I want it to keep always working... And this is just not normal, so for sure there is some cause.DELL doesn't offer drivers for notebook keyboard on their website, at least not for my model, because it's simply a default one... So the default driver should handle it.
So I have a little problem with my mouse and keyboard. It stops working at the login screen. The same thing happens when I try to log on safe mode, etc.

Sometimes it works and I can see my two hd, other times I have to reboot, go into bios (make no changes), exit and it works again.I just purchased an OCZ 120G Vertex 3 SSDto use as a boot drive and can't get it to work on the sata 3 ports. I've read that the Marvell 9128 controller isn't the best but I would think It should at least recognize the drives.

View 9 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded Vista to Win7 (install over) on ASUS F8SN. Looks good except can't install drivers for chipset. It says "ACPI x86 - based PC" no matter what. I downloaded pack from Intel (chipset 965G express). Install seems OK, but device manager still not showing system name.
Reason why I care is because CPU throttling does not seem to work. On any power profile CPU clock always is at the top range I specify in the profile.
I guess two questions, how do I force chipset driver and what's preventing CPU throttling?

Keyboard - some keys dont word for exemple "FN" actions , the interaction keys those that allow disconnect touchpad and to change mode of the battery, display settings and etc...
Camera - Have bad and poor qualitity of the image
Microphone - Dont work, i cant use .

The Random Freezing occurs since July/August 2011, it occurs when I used Skype/Gaming/Browing videos streaming, since thats the major things I do.I had formatted my laptop and installed a new copy but Doesnt help. The probelm had already occurred 2 months.So I bought down to ASUS since it was under warranty.

Firstly, the system was running fine, so they did a format but when I bought it home, the freeze occured, Then they changed the hard disk even though it was tested ok, but the freeze occurred.Followed by the whole motherboard was changed, and yet the freeze occur So I was told not to install and drivers, using the generic drivers that were already installed in my system + the latest ATI driver, it was working fine, for 2 days, However I noticed after the windows update where SP1 was installed, my system starts to freeze again.

I thought my computer frozen so I would restart it , but I just hooked up my keyboard and mouse and they work just fine on the laptop , but when i unplug them i can't use my keyboard or mouse to my computer. View 2 Replies View RelatedI just installed windows 7 ultimate on my daughters, acer aspire 3050 laptop. It was running vista home basic before. The vista install was damaged by viruses, so I decided to upgrade her to 7. All the hardware was recognized, but for some reason the keyboard does not work, it was working fine with the virus riddled vista install. For some strange reason the windows key does bring up the start menu, but none of the other keys seem to do anything.
They all work in the BIOS just fine. Also the touch pad does work, but the cursor movement is very jerky, and it was also fine in vista. I went to acer's site, they don't have any windows 7 drivers available for this model, or any vista drivers for the keyboard, I installed the vista touch pad drivers, but they did not seem to help. I also messed with the keyboard settings in control panel, but nothing seems to help. Does anyone have any ideas, on what I need to do to fix this. I have been really pleased with 7 on my other computers, and would hate to have to go back to vista.
my laptop's right key below the touchpad at times needs to be clicked more than once to respond..but recently d right key stopped working with d touchpad when used together..like fr selelction of text nd stuff..

Using a wired mouse everything is normal. Is there a setting in Windows to correct this, or is it a ribbon not properly connected or similar problem?
