View 5 Replies View RelatedThe only way I can get my computer to start is to cut, then restore power. Then I get the beep, and the Windows introduction graphics start showing up.Then the machine abruptly shuts down and the green led blinks 3 sec on, 3 sec off. The next time I cut and restore power,I may get a screen that offers to "restore". That option may or may not work.If it does work, the computer finally boots and acts normally.Or I might get a screen giving me the option to repair or start normally.Choosing to start normally usually works. What do I need to do?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have posted previously about my computer starting and then stopping and doing this continuously with no beep.I tried replacing the hard drive and this made no difference. One thing I notice is the orange reset light is not on and only flashes on when it turns off.

View 3 Replies View RelatedConstantly had problems with the sata 3 ports. Sometimes it works and I can see my two hd, other times I have to reboot, go into bios (make no changes), exit and it works again.I just purchased an OCZ 120G Vertex 3 SSDto use as a boot drive and can't get it to work on the sata 3 ports. I've read that the Marvell 9128 controller isn't the best but I would think It should at least recognize the drives.

View 4 Replies View Relatedthe sound crashes randomly, and any videos also start lagging, (both Internet videos and windows media player videos,) at the same time. it occurs any time, sometimes half an hour from when i started the computer, sometimes after 6+ hours. the only thing that solves the problem is to reboot the computer. i installed a clean install of windows, but it still crashes. the sound works fine when it's not crashed. i always have conversations in skype, maybe that has something to do with it?
my computer is an acer aspire m5810:

I think that Windows might be disabling my sound device during gaming because it thinks it is idle. I don't know if this is the exact reason but after much testing have come to this conclusion.
Anyway, the problem is that while playing some games (for example Borderlands, Civ 5) the sound will be fine but after a while playing the sound will cut off completely. It seems to occur when I am playing a game for more than an hour although I can't be very specific. If I exit the game and try to play an MP3 etc in WMP then the program just behaves like it's trying to do something in the background and won't actually play the file. There are no system sounds or any other sound at all.
This doesn't happen in all games, for example, when I play Audiosurf then the sound plays as normal no matter how long I play. This is why I think it may be a Windows issue thinking my sound card is idle and then turning it off because when I play Audiosurf, the game plays my MP3 files and so presumably Windows knows my sound card is in use but when I play any other game that just uses the game's own sound files/effects, then Windows isn't recognising this and after a certain period of time is then disabling my sound card.
Does anyone know of a solution for this or has come across something similar? I have an external sound card that is connected via USB (Line 6 Toneport UX2). Let me know if you require any more system specs, oh I'm using Win 7 HP 64bit btw.

Please can someone help me with this as it's driving me mad and when gaming online and chatting to my friend through Skype, the sound will suddenly just go off. While he can still hear me talking into the mic, I can't hear him or the game's sounds/music and he has to resort to typing me messages in-game.
my sound works everytime i start my computer up but after a few hours it stops working on Internet and vlc/foobar/media player but when i hit log off, the sound works again (the logoff sound even plays.)

View 6 Replies View RelatedIm running 7 32-bit RTM on asus p5n-d and im getting poor sound levels.
Compared to my old pc that was blowing my ears out just on 50% the full sound
Is there any fix for this? I tried updating the drivers that boosted the sound only a bit but it isn't enough for me.
I'm getting no sound whatsoever on Windows 7 RC1. I'm new to Windows 7, but I can't get sound to work on my Asus A8V-XE. I am using the built in sound chip.
Windows 7 has the driver label as:
Digital Audio (s/pdif), High Definition Audio Device.
I have the above mobo, just installed windows 7 64bit. Everything else is fine but I cannot get the sound to work even though when I test or play music I see the bar rise and fall. I have exhausted everything I know to do. I did see the CM6501 thread here but after trying the drivers, it still does not work and when I click the CM6501 icon, it freezes the PC and I have to reboot.
Any ideas?
CM6501 integrated USB soundcard.
I have a PC. It is Asus P5LD2 SE. [motherboard? I don't know much about computers]
I am running Windows 7 Professional. There is no sound on it. To my knowledge sound comes from modem/motherboard; I have speakers but no sound-card. Sound worked on Windows XP until I went to Win 7 about a week ago. I have done updates etc. I have even gone to the Asus site and have looked for drivers for my motherboard number that are compatible with Win 7. My number is not in the extensive list.
Interestingly, I dual booted with Ubuntu today and in the Ubuntu box the sound is fine.
In another thread someone asked for the device numbers. They are:
HDAUDIOFUNC_01&VEN_11D4&DEV_1986&SUBSYS_1043818F
HDAUDIOFUNC_01&VEN_11D4&DEV_1986&SUBSYS_1043818F&REV_1005
As a long-shot I downloaded the Asus driver with the closest number to mine. That didn't work.
Should I give up on drivers and get a sound-card? If so which one should I get for my system?
I've installed the RC on my computer, everything works great except I get no sound output at all. It shows that it's connected and playing sound, I can see the green volume bars jumping around but no output. It even shows the front green jack as connected and disconnected when I take the headphones out.
I've tried the original bundled drivers with the RC, the old Vista 32bit sound driver from my mobo website, and the Realtek 2.29 driver. All have no luck at all.
I'm using the 7100 32-bit build.
System Specs are:
Asus P5WD2 Premium Mobo
Newest BIOS
Drivers as above.
Waiting for the new 2.30 to become available but apart from that does anyone else know of anything with this board?
On reading through everyone else sound problems, Asus motherboards prop up a hell of a lot! I'm not majority worried too much about the sound at the moment and I know it's an RC so can't have everything!
