View 2 RepliesYesterday I had a PC technician around to see why my PC was not booting-up properly and also to change my SSD to a larger SSD. As I am visually challenged I cannot do hardware upgrades etc, so I got a Techie guy in. We used Zinstall HDD by-the-way and I would highly recommend this application for such a job plus, it is extremely fast.Anyway, while he was diagnosing my boot-up issue he discovered I had a malfunctioning network card; while removing this, he noticed all the SATA settings were set to SATA 2.When he reset these to SATA 3, the PC would not start-up! When he set them again to SATA 2 there was no problem and it worked fine?

I tried to turn it back on but it just says launch star up repair (which says it cant fix the problem) and start windows normally (which just brings it back to the original screen.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an Asus M4A785TV-V Evo motherboard. It has an integrated Hd 4200, but that is not used. It also has two PCIex16 slots, one of which has my HD5770 in.
If I get a second HD 5770 and put it in the other PCIe x16 slot, will I be able to run Crossfire?
The motherboard manual says that it supports Hybrid Crossfire between dedicated and integrated cards, but nothing about Crossfire between two dedicated cards.
If it doesn't support crossfire, can I still put a second graphics card in and use it in the same way?

I bought the game Rage and it lags BAD, it was suggested to upgrade to Windows 7 x64 bit and it would be awesome. I just don't know if this old board is set up to run it. It can run Win XP x64,so not sure the differance ? Is anyone running Win 7 x64 on a ASUS P4P800 SE motherboard ? It also has a vga in, so i can plug it in as a secondary monitor on my other computer, but touchscreen doesnt work when i do. I called HP and asked for the touchscreen driver (some touchscreens have special drivers), but they had no clue of anything like that. I thought WiN7 was supposed to come preloaded with it, but if i look for "tablet" settings in my computer, its just not there, even though i see it on my AIO. I dont get it, where is the driver for touch? And will touchscreen still work plugged in as a VGA?
View 4 Replies View Relateddoes anyone know if there is any official windows 7 support for the asus a8n-sli premium motherboard?
i have looked on the asus support website and it doesn't list windows 7 as one of the available operating systems do download drivers for.
Running the Microsoft Windows 7 advisor; it says that the laptop is OK for upgrade and I have to uninstall the ASUS Security Protect Manager (ASPM) prior to upgrade.
Looking for more information in the WWW, I found different opinions of people that did it and others said that it doesn't support.
Now I am confused whether to continue or not.
Does U6S support the Windows 7 upgrade?
If no, when will it support?
If yes, what is the proper replacement to the ASPM.
I am trying to install Windows 7 on a new computer and i keep getting this error message. I have been researching up on the Asus Crosshair III before i purchase. I have been reading reviews about how you need to download Win7 drivers and the most recent bios from the Internet which is not a problem. However i came across one concern. I am building a computer from nothing, and the drivers that come with the Asus Crosshairs are not for win7. I also read that in order to update the drivers to win7 you need vista.
I just need confirmation that this is true. Is it possible to update my motherboard's drivers/bios just by purchasing the full version of Win7? Or do i have to purchase vista and update the drivers/bios and then buy the upgrade for win7? Just a little confused as to what needs to be done.
I went on the asus website and found the drivers. Just need clarification on how i install them.
