View 9 Repliesi have a dell optiplex 780 desktop computer with 160GB hard drive and 4GB ram and its a 64-bit OS , I had a windows 7 installed on it but once my couzin used it and he put on a password on thw windows and then he obviously forgot the password but anyway i couldn't get in to my user so i googled and tried some ways to crack the password but didn't work so i kept restarting my computer to try new passwords and at one point my computer just wont work after the windows logo , Now it just goes blank after the windows starting up logo , so i decided to do a new clean windows 7 (32-bit) but when i choose to boot it from the CD room and it asks me to press any button to boot from Cd or dvd and i do press but after loading the files i get a blank screen and it would just stop, i can hear the cd running and all but no display

I've run into a problem that's preventing Windows 7 from loading normally. I'm still able to bring up windows in safe mode perfectly fine. The problem starting happening yesterday, when my computer froze up while I was surfing GameFAQs, forcing me to perform a hard reset. Ever since then, I cannot make it past the "Starting Windows" screen. Afterwards, instead of going to the "Loading" screen, my screen goes to blank, with a message that it cannot detect an input and my pc just hangs there.Since I could still bring up safe mode, I've tried the following things, with either no success, or Windows can't detect anything wrong:
1. Performed a System Restore to a day earlier.
2. Startup Repair didn't detect anything wrong.
3. WIndows Memory Diagnostic didn't detect anything wrong.
4. Performed an Error Check on my hard drive with the built-in Windows tool with auto-repair on.
5. I rolled back my video card drivers (Nvidia GTX 460) to a previous version.
I bought a hp laptop about a year ago and have been having a problem for the last couple days. I have windows 7 and when I go to start the laptop up it shows the HP screen then goes to the windows screen like its loading but then goes back to the hp logo and is stuck. I ran a HDD test and memory test those came back good. I tried to go into safe mode it acts like it loading then shows a blank screen. I try to do a system recovery and system restore the screen stays blank. I also took the battery out and press the power button down but that hasn't work. It's no longer under warrenty.

1. When attempting to use the Reinstallation DVD from Dell, the DVD boots and the progress bar moves that says "Windows is loading files," then the computer restarts and it is stuck in an infinite loop.
2. When attempting to use a copy of Windows 7 on a USB drive, the drive boots up until you see the cursor to begin the reinstallation process, then the computer restarts and it is stuck in an infinite loop.
3. When attempting to use a Windows XP DVD, it starts the setup process, and then I get error: STOP: 0X0000007B (0XF78D2524, 0XC0000034, 0X00000000, 0X00000000)
I have been able to boot command line Linux distros (haven't tried any graphical distros) without any problems. Dell instructed me to run diagnostics on everything, and everything passed, so it doesn't seem like there are any apparent hardware issues. I tried pulling the battery and just using the power cord and also removing one of the sticks of RAM and attempting installation, but I have the same problems.

When I try to do a clean install of Windows 7 I get the loading files white progress bar you normally get during an installation, it then goes directly to the scrolling progress bar that would normally appear before a Windows startup, and then goes to a blank Windows 7 desktop with only a cursor (that I can move).I have a computer with the following specs:[CODE]I have tried to install with every version I can get my hands on, both 32 and 64 bit. None of them are upgrade versions. I've tried installing on a fresh WD Raptor and an Intel G25 SSD. All other drives have been disconnected. I've moved my memory around and tried with one stick. My mainboard has the latest official BIOS, although there is a new beta.
I ran the Windows 7 compatibility test and didn't see anything that would cause this problem.I have searched the internet and have not been able to find a solution sonstalling Windows XP has never been a problem, just Windows 7, always with the same problem. This is one of the few times when I have not been able to look around a find an existing answer to a problem and I am stumped.
I'm new here.I couldnt find any solution for my problem anywhere and i thought i can find it here.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit and im trying to install it for about 6 months. I installed it once but after one week,os is gone and stuck at classpnp.sys
Here are the steps i followed when trying to install; Selected Boot Menu > CD/DVD
Seen windows is loading files. Seen Starting windows but its gone before the 4 colored windows logo comes.
And endless black screen. I also tried to boot from dvd in safe mode.It hangs at disk.sys I checked rams. I have 1 gb x 2 rams. There is blue and brown sockets for rams on my motherboard.
Both of rams connected to blue ones. When i disconnect one of them pc opens but same issue. When i disconnect one of them and connect it to brown socket pc didnt opened.
As of today I have been unable to download anything, when I go to download the page just goes blank and says loading, that is in googlechrome, in explorer I get to the download and it just does nothing, so I thought I would take of my AVG free and try a different antivirus (Avast) from C-net and filehippo, fool that I am, I can not down load either of them, so at present I do not even have antivirus on here,I have restored my pc.I have scanned my pc for problems emptied history and cache.rebooted my router.

But every time i enters an url, it loads the url( as i can see the title bar showing the website title) but the browser shows the blank page. So it does suggest that my internet connection is in good shape since the page title loads.

View 6 Replies View RelatedRecently, my computer starts up windows and after the loading screen it just sits at a black screen forever with a cursor and it doesn't even make it to the log in screen. I have tried safe mode with the same results. What I've Done So FarTried to Repair Startup with Windows DVD Tried to use sfc /scannow at boot (Says pending changes and needs to restart) Tried logging into my Ubuntu partition and virus scanning (None found) Tried copying Reg Files from Regback into config while I was in Linux Tried to Repair Install (But I can't log into Windows ) Tried to bootrec /fixmbr /fixbot /RebuildBcd (Which destroyed my dual boot linux grub, but I was desperate. And still nothing) Interestingly though, after I do /RebuildBcd command it says something like "Found Windows Installations: 0" Tried to System Restore (Gave me an Error, wouldn't you know) At this point I'm not to confident that this can be fixed. If anyone has any ideas I'm willing to try. Or if you have any snazzy suggestions on how I could fix it using another computer, I have a different Windows Pro x64 computer that I can put the HD in if there's someway I can save my data/fix it/repair install from there. I just don't know how.
Edit: I finished the chkdsk and there were no bad sectors, though it did give me a message "Failed to transfer logged messages to the event log with status 50."I did a Windows Defender Offline scan with no viruses and I'm currently scanning with Kaspersky Rescue disk. I don't believe it is a virus, I think it's a corruptregistry at this point. I had just cleaned my registry with CCleaner before the shutdown that led to this >.<
I have read a lot on this getting stuck. I had an issue with it getting stuck, so I had HP to send me the recovery disks and I backed everything up and did a clean install. It did its thing and now it is at the Windows is loading files screen. Bad news is, it has been on this screen since last night at around 8:00 (12 hrs), Good news is, it has been moving. I put a sticky note on the progress bar, even this morning it has moved about a half an inch. Should I be worried or just patient? It said it may take up to 3 hours and it has been 12 hours.
View 6 Replies View RelatedEverything shows up fine until the welcome screen after that it normally used to fade to the desktop but now it goes blank. The screen in Black with only the mouse pointer. Its not hung, i can move the mouse pointer. Then after a minute or so it advances to the desktop. Everything on the desktop loads up in less than 5s. The PC runs fine, it is really fast as there are only a few programs, but only boots slow. My total boot time is about 3-5 min. I think it should be like in a minute or so.I have not tweaked much with the system but have installed a few programs like MS office, Nero, Acrobat and Photoshop. These are the only heavy programs in the PC right now. The only games on the PC are AC1 and AC2. I have uninstalled my graphic driver and reinstalled. I already minimized the programs in the msconfig>startup to the minimum. I have run ccleaner, spybot s&d, Antimalware and i also have a trial copy of Kaspersky AV (upgrading later to 1-year license). there are no peripherals attached during boot except the USB keyboard and mouse. A printer is attached too but is most of the time turned off.

Anyhow, it would eventually boot up, all though one time I got a BSOD Stop: 21C error. For the past 3 days, no sound is coming out of my speakers. All of a sudden it is coming out of my HDMI monitor instead, I went and bought new speakers because I thought they had died. It is still doing it though. Even if I plug headphones in the front jack, I get nothing.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an HP desktop running Windows 7 Professional, and a Lenovo laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium. I am having the following problem on both computers:
I cannot drag and drop files to a blank CD on either machine. If I put a blank CD-R (or CD-RW) in the drive, then open Computer, then click on the CD's icon, I get an error message: "Windows can't read the disc in drive E: Make sure that the disc uses a format that Windows recognizes. If the disc is unformatted, you need to format it before using it."If I right click, then click "Open," or "Open with," I get the same message. There are no options to format the disk.
I have tried uninstalling the drive through device manager, then rebooting and letting the computer find and reinstall it, but that does not solve the problem. I have tried running the Troubleshooter, but it finds nothing wrong.
Two interesting things to add to all this: First, My wife's Toshiba laptop works fine. I can take the exact same blank CD that my 2 computers cannot write to, put it in her's and drag and drop files to it just fine.
Second, All three computers can then read that CD, and any others that were written on her computer.
I have Dell studio series 1558,I have two issues: After Powering on the laptop and inputting the password for login to Windows 7, I get a black screen with the Mouse cursor active. In the background the login seems to have happened but I don't get to see the Desktop. When i open any program or web page, e.g. yahoo messenger, the messenger/webpage display is very small, i had to manually enlarge it to view properly, i tried changing my screen resolution, but didnt work.

I would have to wait for approximately 5 minutes for it to show up my logon screen. I've been having this issue since the start of the year and have attempted to solve it but they have been unsuccessful. Display: 1.Mobile PC Display
Resolution: 1920*1080 (recommended)
Orientation: Landscape.
I opened up my PC to move the front audio cable so that it wasn't sitting on the graphics card (was causing EM interference). When I tried to reboot, my computer now gets to the windows loading screen, then stops outputting video - so the monitor goes blank and eventually turns off. Windows continues to load in the background as I can hear the startup sound play.
Computer Setup:
Gigabyte GA-EX38-DS4 Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 CPU
Gigabyte 670 GTX Factory OC GFX Card
4GB RAM (I think XMS2)
500GB Samsung Spinpoint F3 7200rpm HDD
Corsair 650W modular PSU
Linksys PCIE wireless card (can't remember model)
Things I have tried:
1) Booting into safe mode (works fine, can view the desktop etc.)
2) Booting into low resolution mode (doesn't work, same issue)
3) Booting into safe mode, un-installing the graphics card, booting into normal mode and reinstalling drivers for graphics card (doesn't work, same issue)
4) Trying a different PCI-E slot (doesn't work, same issue)
5) Trying a different output on the graphics card (doesn't work, same issue)
6) Hard CMOS reset (doesn't work, same issue)
7) Trying a different graphics card (even worse, didn't get any video out even at BIOS screen - can't guarantee card is working as I don't have a second machine to test with but it was working the last time I used it a couple of months ago. Second card was ATI rather than Nvidia so shouldn't be using same drivers).
Things I intend to try but haven't had time:
1) Plugging into a different monitor (heard some people mentioning it may be to do with the monitor drivers not reporting max screen settings properly, I could find any windows 7 x64 drivers for my monitor as its so old but I do have a TV I can test with)
I let computer downlod updates for windows 7 and then when I hit restart like it said I had to for updates to be complete the screen went blank and the computer justs sits with a black screen. View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to install Windows 7 for days now...with no luck at all so far...and I'm getting quiet frustrated as you can imagine.
The installation always stops after the installer loads the files, screen freezes on the windows logo, and the progress bar stops immediately stops moving (or it freezes even before the logo is even fully displayed). The DVD then stops and no matter how long I wait nothing happens from there. If I run the text mode install, it stops on disk.sys.
I've looked everywhere on the net and tried many things:
unplugged anything not necessary during install (all usb, got rid of sound card, tried another graphic card, removed ram, switched ram position)
cleared cmos, no change
bios: disabled all unecessary (floppy (I don't use any) enabled/disabled parallel/serial port (for some it was a fix on other mobo's...or so I have read), messed around with lots of settings
tried other DVD drive, burned another DVD.
Now this issue isn't new to me, since I have never been able to install vista either. xp and ubuntu gave me a lot of problems too, but with xp pressing F7 during the initial loading would solve the issue and the install would run fine, on ubuntu adding no acpi would also allow install. With vista and windows 7 setup, pressing F7 during the file load doesn't apparently work, and I don't know how to bypass the acpi check.
If I try to run the install within xp, I get a compatibility report saying that my computer isn't acpi compatible...while the k7s8x bios clearly says it is. I tried enabling/disabling the acpi in the bios and it makes no difference (my bios is the last available, the 2.60)
I have seen people asking for k7s8x lan drivers for windows 7 on this forum, so I guess it is possible to install vista/windows 7 on this mobo after all.
Any suggestions welcome, as I'm completely out of ideas now!
I have just bought a new PC 5 hours ago .. I have bought everything GPU/CPU/MOBO/RAM/PSU/CASE .. only thing i did not buy was a HDD and DVD-Rom.. Because i own both and both are only 4 months old.. So i have put the new Parts together.. Then went to old PC , Formatted C drive.. Then added HDD and DVD=ROM from old PC to New one .. Booted and everything was fine except ofc no windows so gave the boot.msgr is missing thingy .. So i put in my Windows DVD .. Set it to boot from DVD .. It boots .. Goes through the "Loading Files" Then it shows me the Windows logo and stays there for a small while.. Then it suddenly turns black with a small gray bar at the bottom... and thats it .. it stays there forever and after some mins i can even here the DVD stops running.. I have uploaded a PIC to help u understand.. Also i tried installing from USB flash drive and same problem.
Here is the PIC of where i am stuck at *Notice the barely visible gray bar at bottom? : [URL]
