I have been mostly a Mac user and I have been out of the loop for sometime (5yrs). I have some data that I need to have burned (user folder) that is 10gb. I would like to have this burned to DVD. What is a good program that would allow me to just drag the folder into the program and it will automatically burn multiple DVDs. Is Nero still top notch or has something replaced it? This software would be for a PC.

I'm from India and recently we has religious function at home. As this was a personal religious event we took service of professional photographer who shoot the event using his digital camera and converted it to image on his computer. he burned image on DVD . I can play DVD on traditional DVD player Though the disk is full my computer drive recognize it as blank DVD. There are total 41 DVDs and some of the DVDs are recognized and can be played on computer. My DVD writer (on PC)is in good condition. The DVD which shows blank on my computer is shown full on photographe's computer.Unfortunately he could only told me that he has transfered this event from his camera disk to computer using some new HD technology. According to him some configuration changes required on my computer. His computer also run on window 7. Also same photographer did this same event recording for me three years ago and all these DVDs play well on my computer?

When I went to burn recovery discs as advised, the instructions popping up on screen were not clear and I ended up moving the files to the temporary burn folder. Eventually I figured out how to proceed with the real burn and did end up with my recovery discs, however I still have the files in temporary burn and am being notified about them every time I turn on my computer. I'm scared if I remove them I will be deleting the actual recovery files.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just installed more ram for my computer, i was running with 8bg total with 4 2bg sticks and i had some troubles with my first ram slot not working correctly so i switched to 2 4bg sticks a 2bg stick in the three remaining. after checking my ram available it is showing 5.99gb available. Just wondering if there is some tips as to why this might be happening? my bios hasnt been updated since 2009 and is a ASUS P7P55 LX.

I have a lenovo ideapad z565 labtop running windows 7 64bit with 4GB installed memory. this morning i bought 8GB memory to upgrade the memory of the pc. I removed 1 2GB stick and installed the 8GB to make it 10GB. when i check the memory in the BIOS it shows 0245 but when i boot to desktop it show 10GB. performance of the machine just like the running the pc on 4GB. anyone has an idea of what i can do to boost the performance?
View 14 Replies View Relatedok so if i go into my computer and click on my c drive then highlight everything in there it says that i have 56gb space taken up but when i click on the hard drive itself and go to properties it says 66 gb is taken up. i have hidden files shown so i dont know where this 10 gb has gone. this happed after i turned on restore points and gave it 10 gbs but i deleted that in the screen and turned it off at the same time and it is still gone?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm coming across a strange issue with Nero Burning ROM 11 (a CD/DVD burner program). I also posted in the Nero forum but thought I would try here too, as the problem seems to relate specifically to Windows 7.I recently burned a Blu-ray data disc (UDF format) containing 11 folders. The burn completed successfully but with warnings. Something about the file descriptors not matching (I don't remember the exact message). When I go to open the disc in explorer (Windows 7), two of the folders are named correctly but the rest say "Temporary Burn Folder" (which is odd as I didn't think two folders could have the same name, much less nine).The weird thing is, this only happens in Windows 7. When I open the disc in Windows XP (in my case through a virtual machine in VMWare Workstation), all the folder names are as they should be. Also, if I use the command prompt in Windows 7 and do a dir on my Blu-ray directory, all the folder names are correct. I'm wondering if this is an issue with Nero, Windows 7, or maybe my Blu-ray burner (this is the first time I've burned a data Blu-ray in Windows).

Each drive is independent and I will be systematically filling one drive before going onto the next.The problem is that the Popcorn Hour players communicate with the PC by specifying one folder via SMB that contains all of my media. Since I am doing independent drives, there will be one master folder on each drive containing all of the media for that said drive. I want to be able to copy certain files from this folder (normally around 40) and place them in a brand new folder, I want to be able to do this with nothing more than a txt file that has all the file names I need copying in it with every file name on a separate line.I receive around 10 new txt files each day so you can imagine how tedious it is searching through 2000 files, picking out the 40 I need, times a day everyday.To make things even more complicated, the txt files I receive don't always have the correct file names in them, maybe there's a misspelling or a word or two missing for some of the names. That's ok when I'm going through picking out the files I need to copy myself because I can normally tell which file is being requested, but I can't see it being so easy for a program or whatever to do, I'm guessing it'll need to have a search feature where it picks out the most likely file.I'd like it to be as automated as possible. I receive the txt file, make sure each file name is on a separate line then a program or script or whatever goes out and picks out the files (or most likely files for the name's that aren't exact matches) and copies them into a brand new folder (which I'd like to be the same name as the text file it's using to choose the files).

Note that the system was not initially set up to capture the dmp files so all the earliest ones are missing. I presented the initial problems to the original seller who recommended sticking with MSE and uninstalling Norton 360 and I did that. Another forum suggested that Virtual Memory was the problem and I disabled and restored VM. Still having multiple crashes and I am hoping that I can get real help here. I do note that all the crashes have ntoskrnl.exe in the driver stack although sometimes alone and sometimes with other drivers.[CODE]

I only started here a few months ago and I am working on upgrading their Dell xp systems to Windows 7 systems.The problem begins to crop up when say a user named Sally will come in and sit down at this system for the first time.. Well, she needs to login, click on outlook icon, let it find her exchange PST and copy settings to her user profile, then she launches the application for the scanner that she uses to scan in ID's and insurance cards for every patient coming in.. The scanner is set to default settings and needs to be tweaked on color depth and double sided, etc.. Then after that, she needs to launch her Medical EMR application.. and then choose various options in the citrix client, ..TL;DR - Each user needs to spend 20 minutes resetting the defaults at this updated system.
Well this is fine except, I am planning on updating 2 front desk systems at each clinic, the user Sally will need to do all these things EACH time she finds herself sitting down at a system I just swapped out the previous evening.My thought is this, put a single system down in one clinic and let it sit a week giving most of the float users a chance to work on it for a day, setting all of their preferences etc.Once I get a bunch of them with user profiles on the local drive, grab an image of that drive and just deploy that to each system I roll out..Couple issues I am running into:First would be that I would have to register each Windows 7 copy with a new serial, which I have The next issue is, we have a mis-mash of Dell optiplex systems. 330's - 380's even a couple 320's..
I have been getting a fairly random blue screens and I cannot pin point it myself. I know a bit about diagnosing and repairing issues but this one is just a pain in my butt. I have attached a second monitor to my laptop which runs Windows 7, however, I need to set different resolutions for different monitors, because the display does not fit to fill the screen on both monitors.
It is also noted that the display is replicated, and I would like to have the effect of having different desktops e.g. being able to use different applications such as debugging code on one monitor on an IDE such as Visual Studio, and, viewing the browser on the other monitor.
Currently it does not seem possible since the behavior seems to be that the same resolution is replicated on both monitors.
I use WhoCrashed to analyze these errors but I dont know how to solve. Maybe my hardware cause these.

My graphics card is older, a Nvidia Quadro FX 1700, but it is perfectly capable of driving both displays at the same time. It's a minor annoyance, but I'd like to get it working if it's possible.

View 3 Replies View Relatedit doesn't matter if I use a third party program or the W/7 burn image feature to burn an iso, I end up with a dvd that has written data that can't be seen in explorer. All I can see in explorer is "files ready to be written to the disc > desktop."
The desktop file is [.ShellClassInfo]
LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%system32shell32.dll,-21815
If I try to burn that file it says "no files [staged] to burn"
I've tried different dvd's including Vertbatim, but all have been +RW.
Verify disk confirms the data is burnt and closing the disk does not make any difference....the files can't been seen.
Optical drive = LG H20L (with latest firmware)
Edit....the files I'm burning should be visible, but in any case I've got "shown hidden files, folder & drives" selected in folder options.
