"Temporary Burn Folder" In Windows 7 Explorer (Nero 11)
Mar 11, 2012
I'm coming across a strange issue with Nero Burning ROM 11 (a CD/DVD burner program). I also posted in the Nero forum but thought I would try here too, as the problem seems to relate specifically to Windows 7.I recently burned a Blu-ray data disc (UDF format) containing 11 folders. The burn completed successfully but with warnings. Something about the file descriptors not matching (I don't remember the exact message). When I go to open the disc in explorer (Windows 7), two of the folders are named correctly but the rest say "Temporary Burn Folder" (which is odd as I didn't think two folders could have the same name, much less nine). The weird thing is, this only happens in Windows 7. When I open the disc in Windows XP (in my case through a virtual machine in VMWare Workstation), all the folder names are as they should be. Also, if I use the command prompt in Windows 7 and do a dir on my Blu-ray directory, all the folder names are correct. I'm wondering if this is an issue with Nero, Windows 7, or maybe my Blu-ray burner (this is the first time I've burned a data Blu-ray in Windows).
I use a program known as Folder Lock 6.4.2 and previously whenever I burn the "FLK" file using Any version of Nero ((Currently using Nero Version 10)), When I go to open up the Burnt Data Dvd to put in my password info into the Folder Lock program, I get the error message "Mount Not Working. Due to some reason encryption not working. Please restart your computer to resolve this issue or select another locker top open.". I have uninstalled and reinstalled everything more than once, Folder Lock 6.4.2, Nero 7, Nero 10. When I switch over to Windows XP, I put in the password it opens up just fine. I am using Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate.
I went to the "recording" tab in my DVD burner's properties, changed the drive from C to D. Now there's a folder called "Windows Burn Temp Files" in my D drive. But the problem is, while burning, files are still being copied over to C in a temporary folder there. Shouldn't it be copying to D:Windows Burn Temp Files instead? Example, when I cut paste some files from D drive on to the DVD drive before burning, it should be instantaneous, as the temporary files should also be shored in the same drive, D. But this is not happening.
I would like to be able to view the various temporary internet file folders like I used to with my previous version of Windows. Can anyone tell me how I can do this. I have tried using: C:> UsersMy DirectoryAppDatalocalMicrososft. According to my antivirus scan tool, the temporary internet files are located within the Microsoft directory but when I try to access that directory it's not there.
Issue #1: All of a sudden, I couldn't print .pdf files (various adobe error messages in different browsers, or messages telling me I hadn't selected a print range - yes I did!).
Issue #2. I followed some advice and uninstalled Adobe Reader, then tried to re-install it. I can't re-install it. When I try to re-install using Internet Explorer, I get the first two dialogue boxes where I checked "run," but the third dialog box I am supposed to get, according to Adobe, never pops up - the one that is suposed to ask me if I want to grant permission). I temporarily disabled my software security and tried again, but the third box never comes up. The adobe instruction page just sits there - no signs of life, download activity, brainwave activity, etc.
Issue #3. I followed more advice and tried to install Adobe Reader using a different browser - Mozilla. Just for fun, the issues are different this browser - still can't download, but this browser tells me "unable to write to temp. directory C:usersmynameappDatalocalmp29061 error = 3 = > The system cannot find the path specified" It tells me to change my permissions, or save elsewhere. It never gives me the opportunity of a choice to save it elsewhere, and I can't get access to the folder to change permissions. I can't find it, after getting advice on how to find it. It's just not there! I am the administrator of this home computer.
Issue #4: In the meantime, I had placed a call to Adobe's help desk. They called back and told me to first install Google Chrome, which is more compatible with newer versions of Adobe Reader.
Issue #5: When trying to install Google chrome, I went through the same download problesm as under Issue #2 and issue #3. I found a version of Google chrome already downloaded on my computer, however, and launched it.
Issue #6 I tried to download Adobe Reader now using Google Chrome. Nope, same issues as before. I spent lots of time trying to get find and/or get access to temp file. Can't find it to change permissions on it .
Issue #7 I am minutes away from throwing pc into a snowbank and running over it with my car. Multiple times.
I have a new Asus laptop. When I went to burn recovery discs as advised, the instructions popping up on screen were not clear and I ended up moving the files to the temporary burn folder. Eventually I figured out how to proceed with the real burn and did end up with my recovery discs, however I still have the files in temporary burn and am being notified about them every time I turn on my computer. I'm scared if I remove them I will be deleting the actual recovery files.
I have been mostly a Mac user and I have been out of the loop for sometime (5yrs). I have some data that I need to have burned (user folder) that is 10gb. I would like to have this burned to DVD. What is a good program that would allow me to just drag the folder into the program and it will automatically burn multiple DVDs. Is Nero still top notch or has something replaced it? This software would be for a PC.

Today, i was trying to burn an ISO today when i got this message."The image didnt burn burn because an error occurred. The drive reported that it is performing a long-running operation, such as finishing a write. the drive may be unusable for a long period of time. (Error code: 0xC0AA0207)"Haven't started a write since my computer turned on.
I can burn a normal audio cd, yet i can not get it to burn mp3's (data cd, also says for mp3's in software) i have tried a few burning programs and always get the same result. so i figure its a windows 7 issue.
I used to make a FTP folder in my windows, so that I can access the FTP folder directly through Windows explorer. But I don't know why I cannot do it now.I tried to use "Add network location" wizard, type in my FTP location in "Choose a custom network location".However, it popped out an error message that it is not a correct folder.I have checked the settings of the Internet Explorer, and reset all the settings, but it still cannot solve the problem.
I really use the functionality of win xp explorer regularly (e.g., moving files to new folders as the project status changes). Is there a way to make win 7 explorer look and act like xp explorer. I also like the search feature of xp explorer and the fact that I can easily see the path name, creation and modification date. All of that stuff is essential for my work. If there is not a way to truly make win 7 professional act like the xp explorer (i.e., efficiently) is there a program I can use to take over this function?
I have a problem with my Windows 7. I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit. The problem is that when I try to enter a certain folder in my external hdd explorer crashes... Can it be the size of folder? It's 524GB big... Maybe explorer can't take it? Just upgraded from Vista and I had no problems on Vista what so ever... I've tried CCleaner and other pc cleaning software.
I was attempting to export some links from FireFox to IE. It didn't work properly (no error messages). The error message when I attempt to delete the files says I can't delete the folder. That it can not be located
On Windows 7 x64Windows explorer crashes whenever I try to make a new folder or right click. I have disabled every non microsoft context menu using SellExView but that did not help. I think there is a way to get a stack trace and analyze it but I have no idea how to do that?
Window properties shows a folder has 17 files and 81Mb - opening the folder shows only 12 files and 65Mb. Settings are showing hidden and system files. Folder has no subfolders. This is not an uncomment occurrence.
about 3 months ago I installed a software called "right click image converter" and I don't think it was removed properly, and ever since, when I right click on any folder, windows crashes and restarts itself everytime. Could anyone please tell me a good way to fix this issue without having to reformat my computer?
How to make each newly opened folder replace the previous one, I selected the "Open each folder in the same window" option in the tools folder options panel but it keeps on opening separate window for every folder I double click.
i just switched from windows xp to new windows 7 ultimate edition. i tried to install Nero 7 on it to burn some dvds. but whenever i tried it it showed me "some files missing" error. what shud i do, now? The same Nero soft was working fine with windows xp.
I recently installed Windows 7 and now when I open a folder containing wav files explorer jumps up to 50 to 80 CPU usage. The folder contains wav music files because I am converting them from 320 mp3, and FLAC to use in Ableton Live, which is a music workstation. The folder it originally happened to came from my previous hard drive, which may have got damaged, so the files might be corrupt.. but this issue didn't happen with the folder in question after the hard drives incident (which may have resulted it having bad sectors), when I was using windows xp.Recently I converted a FLAC file to wav using this new windows 7 install. When I tried to access the folder that it was put it, again explorer jumped up to 80 percent, dllhost.exe is also contributing the cpu strain, with around 30 cpu usage.I googled this and I was recommend to download a patch for windows 7 which promised to solve the exact problem I had, it said something about explorer taking up CPU and corrupt wav files, however even after this fix.
When we open our storage HD for media (flicks and TV) and other folders with files and or other folders inside the File FOLDER. the command bar shows a column for size, length, date, etc but it shows no information. We'd mostly like to see the size of the file FOLDER with the files and folders in it.M/Videos/Folder/folders/files how to display size of the red folder in the size column in windows explorer?
When I open a folder using the tree in the left pane the position of the selected folder change. It's like the layout of the tree pane is not working fine. Maybe they autoscroll in order to display all the child's folders but I don't like this. When the folder i want to open is in the middle of the pane (vertically) it moves often to the bottom and i can't even see the child's folder, and some time it move the opened folder to the top of the pane
I just would like to have the thing working as it's in XP. When we open a folder, this one don't move and the children appears under this one.
i have nero 6 & have just bought a new computer with windows 7. when i launch nero cd burning rom it tells me that i have an internal error when i drop & drag a song across from a cd.
I would realy like to install Nero 6.6.0.18 Ultra Edition on my new Laptop running Windows 7 Professional (32bit). I have no problem paying for a newer version but 6.6.0.18 is the newest version that will run with DVD Shrink. Can I install and run it in compatability mode. It runs flawlessly on Windows XP (Service Pack 3)
We have just bought new PC with Windows 7 after old PC died. Have tried to transfer files from a memory stick (mainly word / excel) onto new pc but Windows exploer says memory stick folder is empty. When put stick into laptop (running I think on XP) it clearly shows files are present. Have tried copying files onto different stick but get the same problem.
New PC has Kapersky and it scanned the stick when 1st put it in and found no problems with it.
I have just upgraded to Windows 7 and have discovered an annoyance with Windows Explorer. When I expand a folder's contents (tree) by clicking on the arrow icon, the entire contents of the left panel jump to the bottom of the visible screen (rather than just the subfolders expanding). The annoyance is that every time I expand a tree in the Explorer, I also have to scroll the contents of the left panel back up (because it jumped down). For example, in Vista, if I expanded a folder tree, only the sub folders would expand and move downward.
