i just switched from windows xp to new windows 7 ultimate edition. i tried to install Nero 7 on it to burn some dvds. but whenever i tried it it showed me "some files missing" error. what shud i do, now? The same Nero soft was working fine with windows xp.
View 9 RepliesI'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, and system is about one month old. Bought the Ultimate because it's supposed to allow you to install older programs. Today, I tried to install my Nero 7 Ultra Edition Enhanced (retail disc). It went so far and threw up an error. Tried reinstalling to no avail. Now it won't even let me uninstall it (it starts to uninstall then throws an error). It appears to have all the folders on my C drive now but it does not start. Should I try reinstalling or uninstalling in Safe Mode

I have been assured by nero that their new program, Nero 11 which will be released in October 2011 will eradicate this problem.I have sent two diagnostig logs ( Nerovision.txt & Dx Diag log ) to Nero with which they said that they were unable to fix.I have also enquired with nero that they would look into this matter with regard to a possible patch for nero 10 in the future & pointed out that their reputation was at stake over this.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use a program known as Folder Lock 6.4.2 and previously whenever I burn the "FLK" file using Any version of Nero ((Currently using Nero Version 10)), When I go to open up the Burnt Data Dvd to put in my password info into the Folder Lock program, I get the error message "Mount Not Working. Due to some reason encryption not working. Please restart your computer to resolve this issue or select another locker top open.". I have uninstalled and reinstalled everything more than once, Folder Lock 6.4.2, Nero 7, Nero 10. When I switch over to Windows XP, I put in the password it opens up just fine. I am using Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate.

I also posted in the Nero forum but thought I would try here too, as the problem seems to relate specifically to Windows 7.I recently burned a Blu-ray data disc (UDF format) containing 11 folders. The burn completed successfully but with warnings. Something about the file descriptors not matching (I don't remember the exact message). When I go to open the disc in explorer (Windows 7), two of the folders are named correctly but the rest say "Temporary Burn Folder" (which is odd as I didn't think two folders could have the same name, much less nine).The weird thing is, this only happens in Windows 7. When I open the disc in Windows XP (in my case through a virtual machine in VMWare Workstation), all the folder names are as they should be. Also, if I use the command prompt in Windows 7 and do a dir on my Blu-ray directory, all the folder names are correct. I'm wondering if this is an issue with Nero, Windows 7, or maybe my Blu-ray burner (this is the first time I've burned a data Blu-ray in Windows).

I have tried to reinstall and repair the HDD but the disc fails to recognize my HDD (Western Digital Scorpio Black 500 GB). My HDD is Basic, has 3 primary partitions and 1 extended (3 logical). Ubuntu 11.10 can boot fine.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've built a brand new PC and decided that I would like to install windows 7 64 bit on my SSD, I got a disk+key from my university before christmas so that'd i'd be ready once i'd built it.
I built the PC yesterday and realised that I'd left my external DVD drive at my university accommodation, I'm at my parents house for christmas break so that's a few weeks left. I can't really wait that long so I used my parents laptop (which I'm posting from now) to turn the disk into an .iso and use the microsoft USB utility to make a USB stick that i could install from.
However when I tried the install gets to 'installing features' and gives 'windows cannot install required files' error code 0x80070570 I looked the code up on google which sent me to a lot of threads here, so far I've tried:
Taking all but 1 stick of ram out and the graphics card. Reseting the bios to default Installing again without rebooting after error. using cmd to select the right partition
First off this is a newly built computer, all fresh components. aftercleaning/activating the hdd via shift +f10 at Windows 7 setup,(which took me a day to figure out) i was very excited to see my hdd available for Windows 7 installation. as i proceed windows does its thing, after installing its time for the first restart. it restarts right back to the initial windows 7 setup ive done a lot of research, and majority of the problems seem to be the boot priority in bios. so i made sure that it was usb-hdd, then hard drive. (Windows 7 on flash drive for me, no dvd burner available). still the same thing, right back to initial setup. i tried maybe to remove the flash drive during the 10 second countdown to restart, but when it restarts, the windows splash screen comes up and then blue screens and restarts real quick. cant see what the error is on bsodthere have been a couple different start up issues, "windows did not start properly" "select version of windows to start from" (or something to that effect.) but its all the same outcome. windows 7 just wont finish installation
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a re-install of all components following a complete corruption of the boot sector on my drive which could not be fixed with repairs. The last time I installed everything fresh, I had no issues. Between then and now, there have been no hardware changes on my system, but now I am having issues installing the IDT Codecs. I keep getting an error along the following lines: Quote: ExitError: Error=Device Object not present, restart the system and run setup again. Running under compatibility mode, and running drivers from both the motherboard CD and the manufacturer website both have the same effect. The CD, when booted, says "This OS not support!" and only contains 32-bit vista codecs. ECS' website download indicates the IDT drivers as being compatible with Windows 7. Both do not work. It is almost as if the hardware "disappeared," despite the fact that I was using the drivers quite successfully till just 2 days ago, when the boot sector went kaput.
Windows has installed its own default set, which do nothing to power the 8mm jacks which I use with my speakers, but instead put sound through the HDMI, which is useless because I use a dedicated graphics card. I have tried uninstalling this codec and re-installing IDT, to no effect. Windows replaces with its own default codec.I have referenced this thread here, but offered solutions do not seem to work for me: Intel IDT Audio Driver will not install

I have fought NT Kernel & System on 3 computers running Win 7 x64 ever since Win 7 has been out. No one yet that I know of has been able to solve the issue. I now need to install Java and can't because of NT Kernel & System stops it. I have tried everything on every forum and sites l find with Google searches. Nothing has worked yet.
