Can't Load Any Os From Disk Or Usb Stick
May 25, 2012I deleted my windows partition today because I got a virus in windows. Now I cant load any operating system. I have tried to reinstall windows 7 and xp from cd and usb stick I reset my bios to fail safe mode and still cant load any thing. I have the Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD5-B3 mo board and sandy bridge processor. I have the bios set to load from 1usb fdd 2 cd.

Dec 29, 2009We just acquired a new laptop with Win7 HP preloaded. One of the first things I did was try to make a System Repair CD (Start/All Programs/Maintenance/Create a System Repair Disc). The CD burning process seemed to go normally. When I tried to run the disc, it seemed to load normally until it got to a screen with the "streaks in the sky" wallpaper and then it stopped. There were no menus, messages, or anything except the wallpaper. I made two discs using a name brand with the same result. I know disc quality used to be an issue but I didn't think this was so these days among the name brands.

Nov 20, 2011I made a WinPE Emergency disk for recovery, I also made a partition backup of my system which I put on a USA 1TB external drive.Nothing is wrong with my system but I just wanted to check to see if I could access the backup image. But when I boot from the CD I get past the 'Windows is loading files' page, then to a different page with the EaseUS lgo, but the load ba only goes 1/8th of the way before my computer reboots itself.The same thing happens if I use the EaseUS Linux version of the CD.Could it be an error made during the burn process?

Nov 27, 2009Went into the Windows 7 control panel to make a 'system repair disk' (boot disk), just in case I ever needed it. Making the disk went OK, with Windows 7 telling me it had successfully finished, and to label the CD.
I then put the boot CD into my DVD drive to make sure it worked OK. Computer boots from the CD and Windows 7 says it has started loading files. Then the pretty blue background screen started (just like the one in the F8 repair console), and then there was a long pause and then I get the error code shown on the photo below. Clicking OK reboots the computer, and no repair options ever load.
I made two separate boot disks to rule out a bad CD, but still get the same error #
This is a brand new Dell computer, both DVD drives work fine, and burn CDs without problems.

May 4, 2012i bought a wiped comp on ebay, it's a dell latitude d800. it originally had xp on it, i'm trying to boot win 7 ultimate. problem is it has not been partitioned at all, when i turn it on it says "no boot sector on hard disk", then "no bootable devices--strike f1 to retry boot, f2 for setup utility" i tried going straight to the boot menu on startup and loading from the dvd drive, but it is saying the same message as before.

First it started off with my laptop crashing, I had totally forgot it needed to do a windows update and turned off my laptop in hopes that it would work properly. My laptop then goes so far before presenting me with a blue screen that is usually the screen where my accounts are. The cursor still moves but it loads no further even after leaving it an hour. I decided to make a repair disk, hoping that the problem was because of windows. the disk loads, gives me a choice on the keyboard language then does nothing. I honestly have no idea what to do, I want to keep all the files safe on my computer as I havent backed them up and I have worked so hard on the projects.

However, I soon discovered that if I boot from the Windows 7 cd and do not boot from it (By ignoring the "Press a key to boot from CD or DVD..." Windows 7 boots up fine.
I've tweaked my BIOS over and over, but the same problem persists. The drive is brand new and fine. What can I do?

Mar 10, 2012One of the hard disks suddenly failed to initialized. The first problem I found on this disk was unable to open one of the zip files then the machine crashed. After I restarted the machine the HDD drive was missing from the Computer. My computer has 6 hard drives including the missing one. One is Corsair SSD for the OS and the rest are Samsung, Hitachi and WD all of them are 1TB. When I checked on the Device Manager the Drive is there and the device status is properly working. I checked on the Disk Management and I got a message to Initialize the Disk then I followed the instruction. Again I got an error message " Virtual Disk Manager - The system cannot find the file specified." On the Disk Management windows the status of the Disk is "Unknown 931.51GB Not Initialized- Unallocated". I tried to initialize but the same error I got. I did not name this drive but it named automatically RV 01 and the Location is 0.I use Acronis Disk Director to fix the problem but it cannot change the status to online. What I did last week was I installed some programs to the Drive X instead of Drive C.My computer OS is Windows 7 64bits all the drivers and software are updated.

Nothing works other than putting in the boot disk and hitting the restart button on the tower. Then it will boot up and run fine. But how do I stop it from having to have the disk in order to load? Checked in the BIOS and the hard drive is the first load.
