[code] On checking my event log after some slow response, I noticed that I am getting: Desktop Window Manager is experiencing heavy resource contention.Reason : Graphics subsystem resources are over utilised.I am using Windows recommended settings. Mozilla on the main screen and outlook express on the slave screen.Ran the usual clear temp files and ran malwarebyes and superantispyware scans.I am not playing any games or music, just browsing one website (secure) and outlook express, why am I getting resource contention on the Desktop Window Manager?

I have just up-dated all my drivers using "Driver Update" and now when I try to open some programs I get a fatal error message and a message that "Desktop manager stopped working".

I am installing more RAM in my system, and want to monitor the page file for improvement/reduction in size and use. Other than performance monitor, can I see the page file in either task manager or resource monitor?

Why do I get this?. Desktop Window manager stopped working and was closed? I am using motherboard P4S8X with Windows 7 just install. And 2 gb memory.
It maybe a driver issue with the MOBO or some other device. Try and update the MOBO drivers to start with and see if that does anything. If worse comes to worse, you can do a start repair by booting from the W7 DVD.
I was actually thinking this was more specific to the video driver, as DWM has close ties to it...

Ive got a problem with my aero, It turns off after a couple of seconds on power up.Getting a massage that Desktop Window Manager is disabled, while its started in services. Event viewer shows error message : (0x88980406).

I get this problem or error "Desktop Window Manager stopped working and was closed" every time I stay logged on but "switch users". When I come back to my user account, there are two messages on my taskbar that both say "Desktop Window Manager stopped working and was closed". I have uninstalled and reinstalled my Nvidia driver and updated to the latest driver version. I have even went to "task manager" and located the dwm.exe and made a dump file.

I simply want to change the backup schedule, but I get this error message instead:"Transaction support within the specified resource manager is not started or was shut down due to an error 0x80071A91."Immediately before this message began appearing, I ran a manual file backup (including a system image) which apparently completed successfully. Before that, I deleted the previous backups and system image to make room for the new ones. I'm Running Windows 7(64bit)Each time I boot into Windows 7 Prem (64) a open window apears requesting my username at the top of the open window to specify a a program to open it?I've clicked on note pad and I get the following information that apears, each time though it requests, or looks for a program to use to open.

I got this PC 3 weeks ago. For two days now Several of my devices have a Code 10 on start up. For instance my mouse in the Device Manager window has a code 10 and will not work until I use the trouble shooter and it re-installs the driver. I have tried updating the USB drivers as many recommend but there were no updates. I tried Microsoft's fix it, and it was not fixed.

Every time I start up the laptop the desktop is black, there is no icons, and there is no bar at the bottom of the screen, and also the Libraries Window show up at the start up.
This laptop also did not come with any CD so I don't have an option to reformat do I? I think it maybe a virus but I'm not sure and I don't know what to do about it, when I try to open Mozzila Firefox from that Libraries Window i get a msg saying:

I click apply and it says Unable to remove threat then it want me to scan online. but i havnt tried pressing that button...

i get exactly this Desktop-Folder-Window just randomly then and when. It pops up in the middle of the work. It puts itself over the active window. It does not seem to be related to any open software or any particular user action, its really just random...Sometimes it does not happen for a while, and then, however, it starts again. We talk about 1 new Window popping up in 5 minutes or so, sometimes more, sometimes less.

New install of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.What causes ghosting or shadowing from a previous window on the desktop or next window you have on top?As we were setting up the wireless connection a pop-up from the network icon in the lower right taskbar area seemed to ghost or shadow on the next window that came to the top and even the desktop. It did not go away till the PC was restarted. This was a Windows 7 pop-up, not a software popup.

I have tried all the common fixes with no success,I have tried opening one window then another and draging the second window to the full screen size and then closing the first and second windows while holding the ctrl key I have tried to reset IE settings, all that has done is NOTHING to help.This started happening after I just did a fresh install of Windows 7?

sometimes while in an active program or internet window the window will disappear suddenly and my desktop will appear. When this happens a slight movement of my mouse will return the window I was in.

I've been experiencing this strange thing happening with my windows 7 startup. When it loads my desktop, there is a tiny window in the top-lefthand part of my screen. And when I open task manager it's named window1, I can close it and my computer still runs fineBut I'm just curious if anybody else has encountered this problem or knows how to stop it from opening every time I boot

I have an MSI Laptop which I bought about a year ago was running fine and at the beginning of September started having the issue of a black screen, for about 45-60 seconds, between the windows logo and the desktop loading.
The laptop has:
Intel Core i7 460M Processor 2.53Ghz
Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit
4G DDR3 memory
Nvidia GeForce GT 540M
15.6" 1366x768 HD
Intel® HD Graphic VGA
[code].....
The above 3 files exist in the directories asked for so not sure why it can't load them.Although the laptop works fine when it's loaded, the additional time on this blackscreen is just winding me up as it didn't do it before.
