Desktop Window Manager Stopped Working
Jan 9, 2013I have just up-dated all my drivers using "Driver Update" and now when I try to open some programs I get a fatal error message and a message that "Desktop manager stopped working".

Dec 2, 2009Why do I get this?. Desktop Window manager stopped working and was closed? I am using motherboard P4S8X with Windows 7 just install. And 2 gb memory.
It maybe a driver issue with the MOBO or some other device. Try and update the MOBO drivers to start with and see if that does anything. If worse comes to worse, you can do a start repair by booting from the W7 DVD.
I was actually thinking this was more specific to the video driver, as DWM has close ties to it...

Jan 22, 2010I get this problem or error "Desktop Window Manager stopped working and was closed" every time I stay logged on but "switch users". When I come back to my user account, there are two messages on my taskbar that both say "Desktop Window Manager stopped working and was closed". I have uninstalled and reinstalled my Nvidia driver and updated to the latest driver version. I have even went to "task manager" and located the dwm.exe and made a dump file.

Realtek HD Audio Manager Has Stopped Working?
Sep 7, 2012A month ago, I got my brand new, very nice Aurora R4 Alienware computer. A week after that the Realtek HD Audio Manager stops working every time I start my computer. It is very annoying. I still get sound, although now after trying to troubleshoot it, Vent tells me Direct Sound can't be enabled because it can't find a driver. Which of course is even more annoying.

Remote Desktop + WMC Stopped Working?
Oct 27, 2012I have WMC running on 3 Windows 7 x64 machines. I use Remote Desktop on my main PC in order to see my scheduled programs on all three machines on one screen. This has worked quite well for me for a long time......until this morning when WMC crashed in one of my remote windows. I visited the remote machine. When I opened WMC it had lost all my programing. It remembered my Series settings, though, which helped some. As of now, it's working on the host machine, ......however, I cannot open that WMC in the remote desktop. It crashes with this message in the details section:

Oct 16, 2012I have a new computer at my office running Windows 7 Professional. My computer at home is running Windows 7 Ultimate. Immediately after connecting via Remote Desktop (from my office to my home), I get an eror message that says "Remote Desktop has stopped working". I didn't have this problem when my machine at the office was a Windows XP Pro machine.

Wireless Mouse Showing Code 10 In Device Manager Window?
Apr 30, 2012I got this PC 3 weeks ago. For two days now Several of my devices have a Code 10 on start up. For instance my mouse in the Device Manager window has a code 10 and will not work until I use the trouble shooter and it re-installs the driver. I have tried updating the USB drivers as many recommend but there were no updates. I tried Microsoft's fix it, and it was not fixed.

DVD Tray opens and light comes on but does not play DVD. 1st USB port on left side gets - USB Device Not Recognized.One under it works and one on the right side works.OS Windows7 Ultimate. It is running kind of screwy so I wanted to reinstall Windows7 but with the DVD not operating Can't do it. Seems like maybe something in the register got erased or corrupted. If I can get the DVD and USB port to work I won't have to reinstall Windows 7

Every time I start up the laptop the desktop is black, there is no icons, and there is no bar at the bottom of the screen, and also the Libraries Window show up at the start up.
This laptop also did not come with any CD so I don't have an option to reformat do I? I think it maybe a virus but I'm not sure and I don't know what to do about it, when I try to open Mozzila Firefox from that Libraries Window i get a msg saying:

Dec 14, 2011i get exactly this Desktop-Folder-Window just randomly then and when. It pops up in the middle of the work. It puts itself over the active window. It does not seem to be related to any open software or any particular user action, its really just random...Sometimes it does not happen for a while, and then, however, it starts again. We talk about 1 new Window popping up in 5 minutes or so, sometimes more, sometimes less.
