i get exactly this Desktop-Folder-Window just randomly then and when. It pops up in the middle of the work. It puts itself over the active window. It does not seem to be related to any open software or any particular user action, its really just random...Sometimes it does not happen for a while, and then, however, it starts again. We talk about 1 new Window popping up in 5 minutes or so, sometimes more, sometimes less.

My laptop had been infected with stubborn virus.whenever i open a program theres a window suddenly popup saying to delete the file.how to delete this virus.ive tried running rkill in safemode then scan with malwarebytes,superantispyware and microsoft security essential but still that popup always coming out.ive tried already running online scanner.how will i clean this one?i want to run combofix but i read in the forum not to do unless someone technician assist me.

I go to choose the "icon size" for my photos and it will not remember the selection, "medium icons" for the size of my photos in the selection window. It always reverts back to "large icons". I can only see 2 pictures at a time with "large icons" instead of 8 with "medium icons". No matter which option I choose to view my pictures it always reverts back to "large icons".

I have looked at my windows processes and even done searches to see if I can generate a shutdown log, but get no clear answer on how to identify what the window is from. My internet searches get me nowhere as becuase all I get it security functions of logging in and logging out of Windows.

Usually it shows after a minute or so after windows boots. Even if i keep my computer idle it shows up automatically (but only following a boot). This is irritating me quite a lot
I tried re - installing Windows but still the problem persists. I have a IBM Thinkpad T510 loaded with Windows 7 professional 32 bit. I googled this qute a lot but could not find a fix.
I wanted to install Movie Maker but it comes packaged with Live something or other, and it includes Live Mail, the newest version. Now, I do not have Movie Maker, don't even ask! But I have a newer version of Live Mail which I dislike -- that ribbon! Can I uninstall the Live software and reinstall the old Live Mail? This install window that pops up is very annoying and if I click cancel it still loads Live Mail. I saw a similar case some time ago when I opened MSN Messenger.

Lately on occasion the cmd.exe window will appear very briefly. Normally it comes and goes so fast that I cannot clearly see what is actually happening. Today it appeared and contained the words "0 files copied" which changed to "1 files copied" and then "2 files copied" before disappearing. This was the first time I could actually see what was written. About 5 minutes later it appeared very briefly again and I noticed the word "taskkill" before it disappeared.

tried system restore, tried Cmd prompt thing... what may have happened is that I recently was uninstalling things... umm made sure this was a software thing ... defaulted my laptop's touchpad used other mouses and still same result.
This started suddenly after I turned my desktop pc off before going away for a week. When I came home and turned it back on, it hasn't been "normal" since.When I start my computer, go to my user folder, documents etc., all appears fine. Folders/thumbnails and images within the folder appear as normal.However, if I open (for instance) my "downloads" folder, the folder icons and associated icons are initially displayed as "normal", but I see that the explorer bar (where I see C:/user/downloads, etc) is "computing items" but it never stops. A green "progress bar" SLOWLY moves across that "text window" and then it stays green. As if the pc is having trouble reading what is in the folder.Once that happens, if I back out of the folder and then go back in to it, most of the folder icons/thumbnails/pictures are no longer visible. If I navigate to other folders, it's the same thing; many (but not all) of the folder icons and the thumbnails within are not displayed. Example: in my "user file" the AppData and Tracing folders, the icon is non existant....yet my Contacts, Desktop, Favorites, Documents etc. are shown as standard windows "yellow folders" but not the thumbnails that I have associated with them. Also, the file info (if I highlight a file name) does not appear at the bottom of the explorer window, as it normally would for me.I have run my anti-virus, malwarebytes, which are showing no problems and I have also tried "indexing" but no luck. I do have an external drive that is close to full, but it is disconnected. My C drive is
currently 873gb full of 1.35tb. Recovery partition is 1.63gb free of 13.2gb - which I have never "messed with", though I have previously done 2 "reset to factory settings"
Kindly am running on windows 7 and the open folder in the same window option is not working.

Every time I start up the laptop the desktop is black, there is no icons, and there is no bar at the bottom of the screen, and also the Libraries Window show up at the start up.
This laptop also did not come with any CD so I don't have an option to reformat do I? I think it maybe a virus but I'm not sure and I don't know what to do about it, when I try to open Mozzila Firefox from that Libraries Window i get a msg saying:

New install of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.What causes ghosting or shadowing from a previous window on the desktop or next window you have on top?As we were setting up the wireless connection a pop-up from the network icon in the lower right taskbar area seemed to ghost or shadow on the next window that came to the top and even the desktop. It did not go away till the PC was restarted. This was a Windows 7 pop-up, not a software popup.
