DVD (not Working) Not Found In Device Manager, 1 USB Port Not Working?
Oct 22, 2012
I have a HP dv6910us Pavilion and the DVD is not listed in Device Manager. DVD Tray opens and light comes on but does not play DVD. 1st USB port on left side gets - USB Device Not Recognized. One under it works and one on the right side works.OS Windows7 Ultimate. It is running kind of screwy so I wanted to reinstall Windows7 but with the DVD not operating Can't do it. Seems like maybe something in the register got erased or corrupted. If I can get the DVD and USB port to work I won't have to reinstall Windows 7
I have a hp pavilion dv9700 running windows 7 home premium, and the atheros wireless device keeps disapearing out of the device manager and stops working sometimes it works again if i reboot ,i have tried a replacement but the same happens.
my Internet explorer 7 has been totally deleted and I think this is most of my problem with my other programs. My device manager wont work at all, the error msg says that it will not work on any Internet exp. earlier than 5.5. So I need to reinstall IE7? How do I do that (free) And my windows help wont work either.

I've discovered three problems with this laptop and think they all might be related? Windows Update not working with error 0x80070057 - I have searched the internet for help on this and tried suggestions like; starting/stopping wuauserv service, deleting WinUpd cache. System Restore not working; unable to create restore points or restore (the last point is from November), this gives error 0x81000101 Shadow Copy Timeout. Again searched and tried fixing all suggestions like making sure the SysRestore services are running. Device Manager is completely blank; also tried suggested repairs like setting correct permissions on Enum folder in registry. On top of the problem specific fix attempts I've also done the following general fixes: sfc /scannow - found problems but unable to fix repaired registry from RegBack reset all Services to default ran combofix and malwarebytes chkdsk /r removed McAfee have checked Windows & Sytem32 folder for correct user permissions I'm sure I've done a few other things but can't recall everything I've tried.Have also tried Windows Repair but stays at "Checking Compatibilty" for hours.Generally Windows seems to be fine except for these three issues; system is quick and general useage is without issues.

so i was connected my bass amplifier (from headphone output) to the line in and i recorded the sound with soundbooth. when i played it back it was kind of skipping so i changed the quality to a higher hz and i recorded and it sounded right. when i went to move my amplifier a bit, because cables were all over the place, strange noises started comming out of the speaker. i unplugged the amplifier and restarted the computer and the sound and the realtek icon were gone . so i reinstalled the drivers and the icon was back, but the computer wasnt detecting when i plugged in my speakers or headphones. so i dugg deeper and checked my BIOS and everything was ok. i then went and uninstalled every driver related to sound with device manager and driver sweeper and reinstalled everything in safe mode. i even tried windows recovery and it still didnt work.i'm wondering now do i have to buy a soundcard or is there something else i can try?there aren't any yellow triangles in device manager and the realtek hd audio says that the device is working properly. We have 4 Emachines desktops running Windows 7. 3 of the 4 use a Cisco wireless adapter USB to get on internet through our Netgear router. Sorry if I'm using the names like I'm advertising for them, just don't know how much difference knowing brand to brand makes. Anyways one of the desktops USB just stopped working, it showed up in the device manager when you would plug something in but it could not read off of it. I tried multiple portable drives and it the USB wifi adapter quit working. After a few hours I somehow figured out that if I brought the desktop and plugged it into a ethernet cable it would get online. I then performed a Windows update and it fixed the USB's. It done that twice over the period of a week. Both times a updat fixed the problem. I say all that to say Sunday, the one computer that is hardwired to the router by Ethernet cable quit working. The difference is the USB's all work fine, but I believe there is something wrong with the Ethernet port. Basically the same scenario one day its fine next it's not. I've check for updates but it say there is none. I have changed ethernet cable between them, tried swapping port with the cable. Also I swapped other computers to the same ports, they got online fine without a problem. I called Emachines they walked me through a test like thing in dos then told me it was fine. I haven't installed anything recently it just quit?
I recently built a new system and everything had been working fine but recently it won't recognize my camera/usb when it's connected. It had worked originally but now -- although it beeps when plugging/unpluggin the usb cable -- nothing shows up on the computer at all. My wife mentioned that she had canceled out of something once when she plugged it in and it wouldn't work after that.
System information: Windows 7 pro i5-2500k HD 6950 1tb spinpoint f3 8gb 1333 ram
The camera is a cannon powershot sx-130 is, if that matters. This is the same for every usb port on the computer. Other devices (ipod, for example) are able to use the same usb ports with no problems and the camera works just fine on other computers. Can you plug usb 2.0 devices into a 3.0 port?
My computer (windows 7 64bit desktop) at the office seems to be not able to connect to internet sometimes even though the cable is plugged directly into the internet port on the wall. Sometimes it works one day and then the next day when I come into office again, and it won't work. Every time I need to do the ipconfig release and renew then it starts to work again. I also heard that my coworker experienced the problem too when using windows 7, but the older computers running on xp never had an issue.
I have a new pc with a Gigabyte GA-H67MA-UD2H-B3 motherboard and I plugged a Microsoft 600 Wired Keyboard into the rear port (designated for KB/Mouse by Gigabyte). The keyboard works in the BIOS, but when Windows 7 loads, the num lock light switches on, then Windows 7 says that "Driver not installed properly". In the Devices & Printers window, it shows an icon of the keyboard with a yellow exclamation mark and says "hardware not available". However, mouse continues to work. This happens in all the rear USB ports. If I plug the keyboard in the front port, Windows recognizes the keyboard, install the correct driver and it works! All the USB ports work fine otherwise (tested with thumb drive as well as mouse). I also tried with a Logitech K120 wired keyboard which also had the same problem.!!
So way back when I installed windows on my SSD I made a system image restore doohickey, using the "Create A System Image" tool, once I had applied all the necessary settings, installed drivers, etc. Now, windows is experiencing problems and I wish to restore to this back up. How on earth do I do this? The images don't have any kind of runnable-files inside to use. And when I use the recovery disk it says it cant find any image. Ive explored windows various restore utilities and the likes, and at no point does it simply say something like "Please select the file location of your restore image". I have the system image doohickey just sitting there...how do I tell windows to just use that backup? It all seems to be trying to do it in some automated fashion..
I have been doing some searches using the search box that comes up when you press the colorful button on the bottom left. It finds nothing. I can have folders and WORD documents on my desktop, and it always comes up now with nothing found. If I create a test Folder, or WORD document, put on the Desktop, it won't find them. Always used to work fine. Only difference now is that I put in a new HD after the old one failed. Everything else seems to work fine.
I have a Buffalo HD-LB3 3TB external harddrive. My main goal is to get it to work with my xbox 360. I was able to get it to work on my blueray player but it is not found by my Xbox. I have formatted it to Fat32 and I have partitioned it into two pieces, 1.8 TB and 1.1 TB. Still nothing is working.
my cmd is not working actually when putting some commands on it showing command not found but when i am using same command in system32 folder they are working?
When I went to add a new Bluetooth keyboard (Control Panel>Add Devices). When pressing Add Device, nothing happens.I have two Bluetooth devices already installed, are listed under "Devices" are "found" and work fine.Problem is that, I can not either add new devices or, remove any of my Bluetooth devices already installed.Click Add Printer - fine, the wizard starts.Add Device - nothing."Remove Device" - when a device is highlighted for removal, the system appears to be "working" for a moment, but then does not remove the device, it remains.Have checked that Services related to Bluetooth have not been disabled but am wondering if anyone knows if there are any specific services that would be required for Add Devices or Removal of Devices to function? (HID Devices and Plug and Play are Started / Automatic)
I have to warn you... I'm severely technologically impaired, so I know next to nothing about computers. I keep getting a pop-up that says "Window desktop manager has topped working," sometimes it says "and was closed."
When I open the task manager, the screen appears, but when I click on the "End Task" button nothing happens. The rest of the functions (processes,Services etc) are working ok. I have downloaded a Task Manager Fix program and ran it, but am still not able to end tasks.
I have just up-dated all my drivers using "Driver Update" and now when I try to open some programs I get a fatal error message and a message that "Desktop manager stopped working".
1. I have no OS installed, but BIOS shows that there is a WIN 7 OS, which I know isn't there. 2. I have four partitions; C,D,E,F. 3. The C: is the HP_RECOVERY partition. 4. The C:HP_RECOVERY partition is set to ACTIVE. 5. I have rebuilt the BCD from scratch. 6. There is a BOOT (X partition which shows on the CMD. Someone said its the RAM virtual partition. 7. Upon booting the system gives WINDOWSsystem32winload.exe error. 8. The f11 or recovery manager ain't working.
A month ago, I got my brand new, very nice Aurora R4 Alienware computer. A week after that the Realtek HD Audio Manager stops working every time I start my computer. It is very annoying. I still get sound, although now after trying to troubleshoot it, Vent tells me Direct Sound can't be enabled because it can't find a driver. Which of course is even more annoying.
The error message says : Quote :Problem signature: Problem Event Name:APPCRASH Application Name:RtkNGUI64.exe
My laptop is from Toshiba, model L650 PSK1JA OK3017. Here's Toshiba's driver page for my device: Support :: Toshiba ::Computers, Laptops/Notebooks, Tablets, Televisions, DVD and Blu-Ray Players, Camcorders, Storage, Accessories, and moreI recently purchased a blank hard drive along with a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I've installed all drivers listed on the page for a 64 bit system but when I try to install the "Intel Wireless LAN Driver (For Intel Model Only)" driver or Proset driver, the driver extraction begins, ends, but when the setup is meant to run, nothing happens. I've redownloaded it and attempted to install it twice to no avail.Basically, I cannot connect to the internet and Windows cannot detect my network adapterI can't call Toshiba support because their operating hours are when I'm at school.casionally, when I try running the driver I mentioned before and the extraction is complete, when I select "No" as to whether I want to run the file, Windows gives me the error: "Archive Extractor -- Error occured in system module [-135]".
A little bit ago I complete reinstalled Windows 7 Ultimate and ever since my computer has been freezing randomly to the point where not even task manager works. Soon after the freeze my computer will turn off. I have updates all of my drivers, did a memory test and many virus scans and they all turned out alright. It stopped for about a whole week then started up again.
Why do I get this?. Desktop Window manager stopped working and was closed? I am using motherboard P4S8X with Windows 7 just install. And 2 gb memory.
It maybe a driver issue with the MOBO or some other device. Try and update the MOBO drivers to start with and see if that does anything. If worse comes to worse, you can do a start repair by booting from the W7 DVD.
I was actually thinking this was more specific to the video driver, as DWM has close ties to it...
I having trouble with my REALTEK HD audio driver on my netbook. This happened after i upgraded my system from Windows XP to Windows 7 Home Basic. After I upgraded the system, I have successfully installed all my drivers and they are working normally except my audio driver. I can't get it to work!I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, setting compatibility with my drivers to XP, replace with another driver,
