Printer Wont Print: Getting Message "this Document Failed To Print"?
Aug 17, 2005I installed a new modem the other day cause the old one got fried. Now I am trying to print and the printer keeps giving me an error message, "this document fail to print." I tried all possible troubleshooting techniques but nothing help. I don't know what to do.

It sounded as if it was getting the signal from the computer, but nothing would print. Rather than buy new cartridges, which would have cost more than a new printer, I bought a Dell 720. Now, the color prints fine, but I cannot get the black to print. The cartridges are just about full with only a small amount out of the black cartridge.

May 8, 2008I have an interesting situation. On a 100 node network I have multiple printers with static IP?s. 1 certain printer, Marketdell, on port 172.16.2.156 is not able to be printed to from only 1 user. I have deleted the printer from the PC, shut down, turned on, Added printer opened notepad and tried to print, Can?t print.
I opened up printer and faxes, double clicked on the printer and could see the empty print queue. I then opened up Marketdell Printer Properties, clicked on print test page. Received error: Test page filed to print, would you like to view the print troubleshooter for assistance.

CONTROL PANEL> PRINTERS> OPEN and it says its printing just fine but it isnt Its in the front usb hub and tried the rear it dont make any differnence. The printer is on and its got paper etc etc.

I checked the dependencies and both boxes are 'GREY' (closed) and show no dependencies listed.Im thinking I deleted some files or file required to operate the spooler/printer? I have changed both the colour and black cartridges and the computer is seeing them as full, but if I scan or print from computer it prints say the colour purple as light yellow and red as bright Yellow etc. I have tried removing and reinstalling software but that didn't cure the problem.

May 22, 2006I have a dell 2400 series PC running XP home edition. My Dell A920 printer stopped working. When I uninstalled and tried to reinstall it, I couldn't get it to reinstall properly. I used the original CD and I also downloaded a driver from dell.com. Neither worked. I tried to install a new Samsung ML-2010 printer. I used the included CD. It finished the install and when I tried to print the test page, it wouldn't print. It appears in the print queue as "printing" but never prints. When I reboot, I see a message on the system tray saying new hardware detected, there was trouble on the install and new device may not work correctly. I tried to do a repair from the enclosed Samsung CD but it didn't fix the problem. When it tried to print the test page, it said "not responding" in the blue bar across the top of the page

Mar 1, 2009We have two laptops and one wireless (HP Photosmart C7280) printer. Our laptops both connect to the internet wirelessly through a router. I was able to install and can print wirelessly from my laptop (a Mac) with no problems. However, we cannot figure out how to print wirelessly from my boyfriend's laptop (a Dell). We have installed the printer software and the printer itself on his laptop, and the laptop is able to identify the wireless printer over the network. We made sure that the printer is set to "online" and that file/printer sharing is turned on. But, whenever we go to print any kind of a file, we get an error message simply stating that the printer was unable to print and that we should run the troubleshooter. So, we run the troubleshooter, and we get this message:"The troubleshooter was not able to ping (detect a connection with) your print server. This might be the cause of the problem. Verify that your network is configured correctly and that you are connected to the network."
I am more used to working with Macs and my boyfriend is computer illiterate, so we're a bit lost as to what this means. I was able to set up a wireless network connection on his laptop, but beyond that I'm not sure what else to do. Most of the other advice I've seen online involves a wireless printer that is wired to one computer, and another laptop trying to wirelessly access that printer through the connected computer...if that makes any sense. Our printer isn't wired to anything, and we just can't figure out why it'll print wirelessly on the Mac but not on the Dell laptop. Any ideas?

I checked "Printers and Faxes" under the control panel, and I noticed that my printer had not appeared. My printer is an HP Photosmart C4580. If anyone has any idea how to fix this, please let me know. Another thing, I noticed on other threads that people had the same problem as me, however they said that they had a message pop up regarding the printer spooler.
