CNET Answer Print Error
May 20, 2005Can any one tell me why the answers won't print when I try to print them when I'me on the cnet forum, or can anyone tell me if there is a way to print them?

Impossible To Get Connected To This CNET
Jul 3, 2008XP Pro, SP2, Pen4, Cable connection. Windows firewall, Norton antivirus.Over the past few weeks I've noticed that it's become almost impossible to get connected to this CNET forum. The same is true of the the sub text articles that offer more in depth information. For example, I received the article on the new Adobe Reader but couldn't open up the "read more" link. At first, I thought it was my ISP but then I realized that I had no problem connecting to any other links on the Net, just the CNET links. Then I started asking around and other people said they were experiencing the same thing with CNET links. Is this a problem CNET is already aware of. Most of the time my computer Times Out trying to open the CNET links. For some of us at least, this has developed into a real problem.

Jul 21, 2005I write a file in Word and then save it.Before I print it I usually go into Print Preview just to check things out.This time however it just showed me a blank box and the printer would not print.Everything was OK for a complete day and then the problem happened again - blank preview and no printing. This time switching off for 10 minutes and then back on had no effect.I have been trying most of today to correct things without success. I then copied it onto a floppy, put the floppy in my friends PC - same result as before

Dec 28, 2006I previously owned a Lexmark Z25 printer and up to a certain point, it was printing ok. Then it abruptly stopped printing any pages. It sounded as if it was getting the signal from the computer, but nothing would print. Rather than buy new cartridges, which would have cost more than a new printer, I bought a Dell 720. Now, the color prints fine, but I cannot get the black to print. The cartridges are just about full with only a small amount out of the black cartridge.

Nov 16, 2006I'm really bombed out when I have to scroll left to right on any web page. I love CNet forums, but it is a constant matter of that irritating scrolling that may make me stop using it. Yeah, I've tried adjusting my screen resolution, but then the type is so small it becomes a chore to read it. And, other websites designed to use my screen resolution look ridiculous in the browser. I don't care what "statistics" say about screen resolution,the vast majority of web sites are constructed to fit 800x600 res. Either that, or the web masters are smart enough to code them to fit various resolutions.

Sep 17, 2007I recently had my computer reformatted. Unfortunately, it still has some issues. The first problem that popped up was that my computer "froze" after I clicked to print a Word doc. The screen turned blue (of course, my first thought was I had the blue screen of death), and I couldn't do anything with it, other than a hard shut down. It came back up fine and worked "okay" the rest of the day, although somewhat sluggishly. The next day, I tried opening a Word doc. and the screen turned purple and again a freeze. Hard shut down again, and things worked "okay" the rest of the day.
The next day, I was opening something (can't remember now if it was a Word doc.), the screen blinked and turned the color of our home page, which is a sort of rust. I called our tech person, described the issues, and he suggested that I had a problem with Dreamweaver 8. I uninstalled it, as per his suggestions, and reinstalled it. Things seemed to be working fine, but I now get this error:

Error in TSafeMailItem - MAPI_E_CALL_FAILED. I'm wondering if it could be an issue with Spam Fighter, which I downloaded as per the tech guy's instructions. I didn't get the error message until after reinstalling DW, then checked my email. I do NOT open spam, and the sites I usually go to are safe. I'm not saying I couldn't have gone some where that wasn't, but AVG hasn't found any issues, nor has Spybot.

Since reconnecting printer, the print icon button reverts to bringing up the print properties box as happens with going File - print. There is only one printer attached - it is shown in "Printers and Faxes" with a tick. There is nowhere to check it as the default printer as it is the only printer.How can I make the print icon button just do straight default prints again?

Apr 25, 2010I have an old Sony VAIO (running Win Xp) that I am using a print server. The VAIO is connected to a HP PSC. The VAIO is on a wireless network along with two other laptops. One laptop is running Win Xp and the other is running Vista. Everything was working fine as far as printing went until I reinstalled the OS on the Win Xp machine (same OS). Previously the VAIO would go offline due to hibernation and so if I tried to print something from the Xp machine, it would get in the queue and get printed when I turned the VAIO on. Now the print jobs are not getting in a queue when the VAIO is offline.I don't know what I did right before and so I don't know how to remedy the problem.

Tried to correct it by going to Start>Run>services.msc>Print Spooler.. startup type set to Automatic>Service Status set to Stopped>pressed START and got error message as follows, Error 1068 The dependancy service or group failed to start.Windows XP sp2, 512 ram. Trying to install Lexmark x3450 printer but can not change setting on print spooler to start.
