View 3 RepliesI write a file in Word and then save it.Before I print it I usually go into Print Preview just to check things out. This time however it just showed me a blank box and the printer would not print.Everything was OK for a complete day and then the problem happened again - blank preview and no printing. This time switching off for 10 minutes and then back on had no effect.I have been trying most of today to correct things without success. I then copied it onto a floppy, put the floppy in my friends PC - same result as before

View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know what the problem could be with my printers not printing out envelopes? They will print out a letter but not envelopes though they act like they are printing but nothing prints when they come out in the tray? And, yes I have ink! LOL! Just curious as to what could be the problem.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI previously owned a Lexmark Z25 printer and up to a certain point, it was printing ok. Then it abruptly stopped printing any pages. It sounded as if it was getting the signal from the computer, but nothing would print. Rather than buy new cartridges, which would have cost more than a new printer, I bought a Dell 720. Now, the color prints fine, but I cannot get the black to print. The cartridges are just about full with only a small amount out of the black cartridge.
View 7 Replies View RelatedAll worked as normal Printer icon would print automatically with default print settings; File -Print would bring up print properties dialogue box to select options.Unhooked printer from laptop. Since reconnecting printer, the print icon button reverts to bringing up the print properties box as happens with going File - print. There is only one printer attached - it is shown in "Printers and Faxes" with a tick. There is nowhere to check it as the default printer as it is the only printer. How can I make the print icon button just do straight default prints again?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an old Sony VAIO (running Win Xp) that I am using a print server. The VAIO is connected to a HP PSC. The VAIO is on a wireless network along with two other laptops. One laptop is running Win Xp and the other is running Vista. Everything was working fine as far as printing went until I reinstalled the OS on the Win Xp machine (same OS). Previously the VAIO would go offline due to hibernation and so if I tried to print something from the Xp machine, it would get in the queue and get printed when I turned the VAIO on. Now the print jobs are not getting in a queue when the VAIO is offline.I don't know what I did right before and so I don't know how to remedy the problem.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI just starting using another computer and found out that it does not have a parallel port for my printer. So I purchased a usb - parallel cable. Hooked it up to my HP 722 printer, set it up, made it the default printer. When I go to print, a page comes out blank. I tried Word, Notepad, Wordpad, and still nothing. It does however print from the internet with no problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor years I have been able to print from networked computers in my home ( two desktops running XP pro hardwired, one laptop XP wireless and one desktop xp wireless) to my main computer thru a router. The main computer ran XP home edition for years until my hard drive crashed and left me without an operating system ( The PC is an HP pavillion and had the recovery disc partitioned on the hard drive). I installed a new hard drive and was able to install XP pro from my boys computer that was received from a home school company that they use. The company had sent me a OEM version of XP pro with all their sofware on it that were copied on blank cd's. When I initially set my main computer up again I was able to print from all my computers. I then grew tired of always logging on with a password that was setup by the home school company.
Now I cannot print from any computer other than the main computer where the printer is connected. My first question would be: Can I delete the users on my main computer that were setup by the Home school company and start my own user? Next: Do I need a password? I would rather not have one. I only need one user account on the main computer. If I can delete the users and passwords, should I move any or all documents out of the user I want to delete? Will any of this solve my problem of not printing from my networked printers?

My HP OfficeJet R40xi works just fine when I boot up or re-boot my desktop PC, but if I've shutdown to "hibernate" or "standby" I consistently get a "This document failed to print" error message. This problem started after I installed the SP-2 patch. I've double checked my parallel port settings in system BIOS and Device Manager and I've removed & reinstalled the driver but so far haven't found a solution.

I have a Windows XP Pro SP2 PC on a P2P LAN. The PC is also running Norton Antivirus 2005.Also on this LAN are several networked printers, one of them being a new HP OfficeJet 7310xi All-In-One printer. This printer is connected directly to the LAN and provides networked printing and scanning to the PCs on the LAN. I have two Windows 2000 Pro PCs and a Mac OS X printing and scanning to that OfficeJet without any problems From the XP box, I can print to the OfficeJet as long as I'm logged as the local administrator. When the user logs in with her user account, she is unable to print. Her jobs get stuck in the queue, labeled "Error - Printing."

View 6 Replies View RelatedAfter updating my version of iTunes this afternoon I was of course prompted to restart my laptop (an HP Pavilion dv6000), which I did. However upon start-up I noticed a variety of Windows menu texts to be completely missing - that is, the dialogue boxes and other such usually-text-containing shapes came out (albeit somewhat abnormally usually, often shortened to a few pixels) with no text in it at all. Internet pages themselves show up just fine, but any other text associated with internet explorer itself (i.e. tab and toolbar titles, dropdown menus like 'Page', etc.) is text-blank (icons still remain though, which helps a little)
View 7 Replies View RelatedFor some reason, sometimes when I start my computer, after having put it in hibernation, the screen is blank. This is as if the video card has put the monitor in standby or something. Sometimes a wake-up event, like the mouse and keyboard will fix it, but often it doesn't. In that case, I have to CTRL-ALT-DEL, then feel my way to the "restart" (and because Firefox always hangs when it quits, I have to guess when the "End Now" button comes up).

The error message would take me to the Windows Update page and tell me to update the ethernet adapter, which was erroneous as it referred to an adapter I don't have. I've tried to delete the printer, but when I open the printer folder in Control Panel the system reboots before I can delete anything. I've upgraded the driver for the printer, which is an Epson C62. I've tried a system restore
