I have a problem when I try to print Word documents that contain hyperlinks or any line or image in the document. Rather than printing the hyperlink, html or something prints out and if I'm trying to print a graphic I've downloaded for example, it will not print at all. Is there a properties button or flag that I need to turn off in order to correct my printing problem?

View 6 Replies View RelatedSometimes I will highlight a range of photo files and open them into Picture and Fax viewer. I can then page through all the photos I selected. Occasionally though, I will load a range of photos into the viewer and photos from outside the range I selected get loaded into the viewer. When this has happened, I've gone back and reselected the range and tried it again and still get pictures loading from outside the range I wanted. Also, I notice on the viewer's print wizard that pictures/documents from outside my range of selected documents are sometimes presented for printing. Anyone know how that happens and how do you fix it?

Some hyperlinks work and some do not in the same page. I asked tech help from my server what was happening. He thought it might be my pop-up stopper but disabling it did not help. He then thought I probably needed a Java applet which I downloaded, but it didn't help.

View 3 Replies View RelatedFor years I have been able to print from networked computers in my home ( two desktops running XP pro hardwired, one laptop XP wireless and one desktop xp wireless) to my main computer thru a router. The main computer ran XP home edition for years until my hard drive crashed and left me without an operating system ( The PC is an HP pavillion and had the recovery disc partitioned on the hard drive). I installed a new hard drive and was able to install XP pro from my boys computer that was received from a home school company that they use. The company had sent me a OEM version of XP pro with all their sofware on it that were copied on blank cd's. When I initially set my main computer up again I was able to print from all my computers. I then grew tired of always logging on with a password that was setup by the home school company.
Now I cannot print from any computer other than the main computer where the printer is connected. My first question would be: Can I delete the users on my main computer that were setup by the Home school company and start my own user? Next: Do I need a password? I would rather not have one. I only need one user account on the main computer. If I can delete the users and passwords, should I move any or all documents out of the user I want to delete? Will any of this solve my problem of not printing from my networked printers?
If I want to print a document in Landscape format that I have typed in Word, I click on Print/Properties/Basics/Landscape/OK, and it still prints out as vertical or Portrait. How can I get it to print in horizontal or Landscape format?

my primary printer is a Brother MFC-8670DN wired to ethernet.Operating system is XP home SP3.
My HP OfficeJet R40xi works just fine when I boot up or re-boot my desktop PC, but if I've shutdown to "hibernate" or "standby" I consistently get a "This document failed to print" error message. This problem started after I installed the SP-2 patch. I've double checked my parallel port settings in system BIOS and Device Manager and I've removed & reinstalled the driver but so far haven't found a solution.

The PC is also running Norton Antivirus 2005.Also on this LAN are several networked printers,one of them being a new HP OfficeJet 7310xi All-In-One printer. View 4 Replies View RelatedI previously owned a Lexmark Z25 printer and up to a certain point, it was printing ok. Then it abruptly stopped printing any pages. It sounded as if it was getting the signal from the computer, but nothing would print. Rather than buy new cartridges, which would have cost more than a new printer, I bought a Dell 720. Now, the color prints fine, but I cannot get the black to print. The cartridges are just about full with only a small amount out of the black cartridge.

Since reconnecting printer, the print icon button reverts to bringing up the print properties box as happens with going File - print. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an old Sony VAIO (running Win Xp) that I am using a print server. The VAIO is connected to a HP PSC. The VAIO is on a wireless network along with two other laptops. One laptop is running Win Xp and the other is running Vista. Everything was working fine as far as printing went until I reinstalled the OS on the Win Xp machine (same OS). Previously the VAIO would go offline due to hibernation and so if I tried to print something from the Xp machine, it would get in the queue and get printed when I turned the VAIO on. Now the print jobs are not getting in a queue when the VAIO is offline.I don't know what I did right before and so I don't know how to remedy the problem.

The virus is now wiped out, but my old install of windows was ruined. I attempted several methods of troubleshooting, the latest being running a windows repair through the CD. The current situation of the old install is that it boots up to a black screen where I can manoever the mouse cursor as desired but without any other functionality (this is before the login screen, which never occurs).

After checking the recycle bin and searching for hidden files and folders with no luck, I logged in as admin and looked at his C:documents and settings'username' folder and found that it was created on his original hire date in 2009. View 1 Replies View RelatedI was not able to restore the system back to a previous state, nor was I able to back-up my documents, so I was forced to reinstall Windows XP Professional version 2002 and all of my other applications. A new Active Directory was created, giving me new user accounts, even though I used the same user names that had been created under the old installation. Under one of the old user accounts, I had a folder that was password protected, and it contained several important documents. Since the new Active Directory does not recognize that old user folder, I can not gain access to the folder to retrieve the files, even when logged on as the administrator. I get an error message that reads: Documents and Settings My Documents is not accessible.

We bought it from best buy, and i guess they registered the computer to a 'valued customer' and its really annoying. Idk how the user name stuff works, but i think a while ago(not 100% positive cuz it was like 2 years ago) when we first got the computer i changed the admin 'valued customer' name to my name. but the 'my documents' folder defaulted to 'c:/documents and settings/valued customer' still. i fixed it by making a folder on c: with my name and made that folder the target location for the My Documents folder.
