i got a printer from a family member a couple of days ago, and he couldnt find the software, soo i went on HP and downloaded the driver. when i try to printer something the printer pulls the paper in a little ways the it pushes it back and does that about 2-3 times? have no idea what is causing this.

I previously owned a Lexmark Z25 printer and up to a certain point, it was printing ok. Then it abruptly stopped printing any pages. It sounded as if it was getting the signal from the computer, but nothing would print. Rather than buy new cartridges, which would have cost more than a new printer, I bought a Dell 720. Now, the color prints fine, but I cannot get the black to print. The cartridges are just about full with only a small amount out of the black cartridge.

And then i click RUN i type in services.msc and enter. Down the services list i go to Print Spooler and double click it. It says "Service status: Stopped". Granted, it's not top of the line, but I just bought it because my old one was broken (I thought) and now it is starting to have the same problems as the last one, and the problems started about a week after I bought it. I tried restarting the print spooler and nothing. I checked the dependencies and both boxes are 'GREY' (closed) and show no dependencies listed.Im thinking I deleted some files or file required to operate the spooler/printer? I have changed both the colour and black cartridges and the computer is seeing them as full, but if I scan or print from computer it prints say the colour purple as light yellow and red as bright Yellow etc. I have tried removing and reinstalling software but that didn't cure the problem.

It works perfectly on three of the machines, but will not work on the fourth for some reason. It installs on a TCP/IP port just fine, and we can view properties and everything, but it will not print at all. I tried win3.11 but the printer driver will not run correctly with win3.11 so it is back to win3.1.Is there anyway I can make XP or W2K use the w3.1 printer driver? I tried to install the driver in XP and W2K from the plotter disk but I get "there is no printer information in that location."

I recently had a problem with the printer so I went through the troubleshooter process and was instructed to contact Epson. I did, and when I sent the error script that I receive, they told me to contact Microsoft. I have been searching the articles for patches, fixes, etc but am not having any luck. When I try to reinstall the printer (with the printer cd or manually), the installation appears to be going through and copying files and then I get a message that the installation can not finish. I'm trying to get my Canon IP8500 printer to work with my Samsung NC20 netbook which is running Windows XP.Usually I simply plug the printer into any Windows XP computer and it'll automatically install the necessary drivers. However, when I plug it into my netbook and instruct Windows XP to automatically search/find and install the drivers, it can't find any.So I've gone onto the Canon website and manually downloaded the drivers, but when I try to install them via the setup.exe it says that a newer driver is already installed, and aborts the setup.The weird thing is that there definitely isn't a driver already installed, because I've even gone into device manager and uninstalled the printer/driver before trying again.
