New Network Printer On Remote Location Wont Print?
Aug 12, 2008
I have installed a printer in a remote location on four machines. They all run Windows XP (SP2 I think). It works perfectly on three of the machines, but will not work on the fourth for some reason. It installs on a TCP/IP port just fine, and we can view properties and everything, but it will not print at all. I have no physical access to these computers, so cannot provide very much more information about them, but I'll try my best.
I write a file in Word and then save it.Before I print it I usually go into Print Preview just to check things out. This time however it just showed me a blank box and the printer would not print.Everything was OK for a complete day and then the problem happened again - blank preview and no printing. This time switching off for 10 minutes and then back on had no effect.I have been trying most of today to correct things without success. I then copied it onto a floppy, put the floppy in my friends PC - same result as before
I previously owned a Lexmark Z25 printer and up to a certain point, it was printing ok. Then it abruptly stopped printing any pages. It sounded as if it was getting the signal from the computer, but nothing would print. Rather than buy new cartridges, which would have cost more than a new printer, I bought a Dell 720. Now, the color prints fine, but I cannot get the black to print. The cartridges are just about full with only a small amount out of the black cartridge.
I installed a new modem the other day cause the old one got fried. Now I am trying to print and the printer keeps giving me an error message, "this document fail to print." I tried all possible troubleshooting techniques but nothing help. I don't know what to do.
I recently installed three new Dell Optiplex, Ultra compact computers in a Doctors Office. To keep things streamlined and tamper proof, I located the PC's above the ceiling tiles and wall mounted the Dell 19" monitors. This installation method required me to utilize the USB ports in the monitor for the keyboard and mouse. The problem is that whenever the monitors are powered off for any length of time, the PC no longer recognizes the mouse and keyboard. A simple reboot fixes everything but due to the remote location of my PC's, a simple reboot requires a ladder and is quite annoying and time consuming in a hectic doctors office.
We have a couple of users who Remote Desktop into their office workstation. The network is Small Business Server 2003 and both the workstations and the computers they use at home,to go into them are Windows XP Pro.One user cannot print from Remote Desktop to his local printer at home. When he tries to print, it seems to spool correctly, but never prints. The printer window says printing, and nothing ever happens. He has tried this with 3 different printers, all different makes and models, but still nothing. I have also seen this firsthand.I checked his settings, and it does say to connect automatically to printers, so that is not the issue.
I have an interesting situation. On a 100 node network I have multiple printers with static IP?s. 1 certain printer, Marketdell, on port 172.16.2.156 is not able to be printed to from only 1 user. I have deleted the printer from the PC, shut down, turned on, Added printer opened notepad and tried to print, Can?t print. I opened up printer and faxes, double clicked on the printer and could see the empty print queue. I then opened up Marketdell Printer Properties, clicked on print test page. Received error: Test page filed to print, would you like to view the print troubleshooter for assistance.

The printer is on and its got paper etc etc.
I have connected 3 new PC's on a P2P network, and connected a HP 4610 Color Laser Printer via a JetDirect 175 print server. On one PC, I can only print from the Administrator account. The other 2 computers work fine. On the one that is having issues, when printing a test page I receive a "Failed to Print" error mesage, and looking in the printer jobs menu, it shows that there was an error printing. The Administrator account can print fine from this machine.
The user accounts are "restricted user" accounts on all 3 computers. All 3 computers are exactly the same type, and all have the latest updates.
Compaq Presario running Windows XP, second upgrade.I am unable to install programs. When I try it seems as though there is a second installer trying at the same time and that conflicts with the initial installer.I get the message: "Error 1606. Could ot access network location %USERPROFILE%Recent" I have followed the advice on checking the registry for wrong paths, but I could not locate any. The initial problem was with WordPerfect Office Suite 12. When the computer was booted I would get a message that Windows was trying to reconfigure WordPerfect Office Suite 12 There didn't seem to be any reason for that, so I tried uninstalling WordPerfect but it would not uninstall. I then removed it manually and removed all references that I could find to Corel in the registry.
We are connecting Windows XP-Pro and Windows 2K to a Remote Desktop (via Netmotion) and everything is working fine except we cannot print locally. We have enabled the local printing & ports from the Remote Desktop options. There are no firewalls interferring. I can ping the local machine from the Remote Desktop.
a friend has 3 computers 1 desktop, 2 laptop, Linksys wireless router windows Xp. HP Photosmart 400 will only print from destop Computer. Is there a way to get the printer to print from all 3?
I currently installed Windows Live Onecare on my computers for security. On my laptop, when the "firewall" is "ON" my laptop will not print to my desktop printer. When it is turned "OFF" , it DOES print. Why's this??
I just starting using another computer and found out that it does not have a parallel port for my printer. So I purchased a usb - parallel cable. Hooked it up to my HP 722 printer, set it up, made it the default printer. When I go to print, a page comes out blank. I tried Word, Notepad, Wordpad, and still nothing. It does however print from the internet with no problem.
If I want to print a document in Landscape format that I have typed in Word, I click on Print/Properties/Basics/Landscape/OK, and it still prints out as vertical or Portrait. How can I get it to print in horizontal or Landscape format?
Im running XP Professional, SP 2, on an Intel P3 1Ghz, 512 MB of RAM.I deleted my old Lexmark printer after I installed a new HP. Now my printer wont work. I tried restarting the print spooler and nothing. I checked the dependencies and both boxes are 'GREY' (closed) and show no dependencies listed.Im thinking I deleted some files or file required to operate the spooler/printer? Or is it possobly spyware or something causing this problem? I did perform a registry cleanup after the installation of the new HP printer.
I am trying to setup an Terminal Services session that will allow me remote to a computer and execute print jobs from that computer that will print out on my home computer
My printer puts out blank paper whenever I request a print from Microsoft Word, Wordpad, or note pad. I cannot do a command prompt. Everything is fine with internet outlook express. Printer does a self check very well.
My printer has just started not to print all the full colours. It is an all in one HP PSC 1410 and now prints everything as either Yellow, Light green or light blue. I have changed both the colour and black cartridges and the computer is seeing them as full, but if I scan or print from computer it prints say the colour purple as light yellow and red as bright Yellow etc. I have tried removing and reinstalling software but that didn't cure the problem.
I used to be able to select text and check the box that says selection and only what i selected would print. That box is now grayed out ALL the time. How can this be fixed? my primary printer is a Brother MFC-8670DN wired to ethernet.Operating system is XP home SP3.
Does anyone know what the problem could be with my printers not printing out envelopes? They will print out a letter but not envelopes though they act like they are printing but nothing prints when they come out in the tray? And, yes I have ink! LOL! Just curious as to what could be the problem.

We have a vender that wants to use our printer at work which is hooked up to our network but he can't join our network because he is not an employee.Just spoke to him and he has a Sony Vaio laptop and DOES NOT WANT ANY DRIVERS on his machine. Im lost. I was just going to install drivers on his machine and hook the printer up USB but he just formatted his machine and now doesn't want any drivers at all.
