I have got the following error on XP under a video editing app. The app is VirtualDubMod. I never got this error before. The error is below. The instruction "0x025397a8" referenced memory at "0x01bc39f0". The memory could not be read. What exactly does that mean? How do I fix it? Is it possible to fix it?
View 6 RepliesI have window XP SP2 installed on my laptop. I also use InterVideo WinDVD Creator for video editing. Recently when I try to import video file into my application, my laptop, processing percentage goes up to 98%, and the application just freezes up. I also tried the Microsoft movie maker software and I get the same result. I was wondering if I need to reinstall the application or there is something that my laptop is missing. The application was functioning fine until 2 days ago, and since then I haven't installed any other application.

I have tried numerous fixes and it will not work. I tried turning off AU and manually installing the updates but it just hangs up. It is only the Office 2003 updates that did not update.

I was looking around on some sites and i was looking at a forum about my computer ( a acer aspire 5100 laptop ), and it said i could use 256 MB of my ram as video memory, but it didnt say how or if it did it automaticly, anyone know anything about this?

When I tried to re-install my son's game (one of those Sesame Street educational games) I get an error message saying that there is insufficient memory to run the application-- The title of the message box is "Can't run 16-bit application"; there is no error number. I have Googled for it, but the only answers I seem to get are for the autoexe.nt file being corrupt; however, my specific problem is not listed in the symptoms.

The moment I noticed this issue was after an install of my Printer/Fax/scanner by HP, It is a wireless printer so the firewall asked if it should unblock for the install process. For me backup files are not necessary, so I deleted the contents then installed WOW in its spot. Then later on I decided to merge this partition using partition magic. While merging my computer crashed. My C: drive is saying that it has the contents of the old partition, but it is not accessible or visible. I tried using partition magics drive mapper to make these files go into c: but it did nothing.

I recently purchased a new computer that came free with it's own Photo Shop program, so every time I try to edit a picture in My Pictures folder it opens THAT program instead of PAINT, which is what I want to edit the pictures in. Anyone got any clues how to set it right?
When attempting to Edit photos in My Pictures, window pops up advising that, "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel."
