Application Error Start Up - Instruction At 0x009a6f9a Memory Couldn't Written
Oct 22, 2004
I get an application error on start up before ever making a move to open any programs. The instruction at "0x009a6f9a" referenced memory at "0x00000000" could not be written. The moment I noticed this issue was after an install of my Printer/Fax/scanner by HP, It is a wireless printer so the firewall asked if it should unblock for the install process. My question is should I try to go back to a restore point before that install or is there a workaround for this error.
Just started getting this error message. [see attachment] It pops up seemingly at random; startup, browsing, even while I left the computer for awhile (no tasks running). The app is different most every time, tho (eg. <whatever>.exe).
Today, for the first time, when I signed on I get this big dialog box that states:winlogon.exe Application Error The instruction at 0x77f83aed referenced memory at 0x00440052. The memory could not be written. Click OK to terminate Click Cancel to debug.I tried BOTH Cancel and then OK with no results. When I clicked OK the programs would eventually come up, but I've found my application SCREEN SHOT DELUXE won't come up don't know if that is related or not. Also, had a little problem with Word Perfect on one boot, don't know EXACTLY what or IF these would be affected by this problem.I have a Dell 8250, Windows XP Pro, 512 RAM, 120 gig hard drive, 2.5 GHz.
I am having problems with Automatic Updates and I keep getting the following error: svchost.exe -- application error the instruction at "0x745f2780" reference memory at "0x00000000". the memory could not be 'read' I have tried numerous fixes and it will not work. I tried turning off AU and manually installing the updates but it just hangs up. It is only the Office 2003 updates that did not update.
Win XP Pro logon is extremely slow and hangs at the black logo screen. After loggin on to safe mode and restarting I got the following message: winlogo.exe Application Error The instruction at "0x50171aa8" referenced memory at "0x50041240." The required data was not placed into memory because of an I/O error status of "0x000009c." I was finally able to logon to windows and have downloaded Hijack This and have run a scan.
problem with internet explorer. when i close ie, it shows an error message like this, "The instruction at"0x0291341a" referenced memory at "0x029c2b18". The memory could not be read". Then after i just left with ok button to go with. if i click 10-15 times on the same till that it will continuously shows message and then after it works well. whenever I try to use some part of Windows Explorer (e.g. opening Control Panel, Network Connections, folders on my desktop) I get an error message that says: "The instruction at 0x01dde065 referenced memory at '0x00000000'. The memory could not be 'written'. Click on OK to terminate the program" When I click OK, Explorer terminates and restarts, but still has the same problem. I tried restarting as well as running a System Restore and neither fixed the problem. All of my other programs appear to be working fine, and there is no noticeable performance drop.
I have an hp compaq nx 9010 laptop and recently got this message. i wonder if the change in ram has done it>? 1 chip is the original 256 mb, the other is a 512
My lap top (IBM think pad 600E) running windows 2000 professional has suddenly slowed down completely "when opening from switching on and when opening "all" new programs inc. Int Explorer, Outlook Express, windows, Skype etc. However - once a program finally opens it generaly works at full speed!!!I also get from time to time the message - (The memory could not be written. )In addition the Disc clean up program will not "clean up" - it just hangs there after starting for ever.Looked for a virus through AVG, and defragged, also took out programs not used often etc. Installed anti "Spy Bot" - which found 6 "bad" products - but won't / can't remove them.
i get this weird message just before shutdown:-the instruction at 0x01604617 referenced memory at 000000007, the memory could not be written. i have ran a disk check and it has come up clean. any ideas? someone said it might be malware? what is malware, and how do you scan for it?
I am trying to re-install a game on my computer. Due to a good virus attack, I was forced to reformat my hardrive and re-install Windows XP Pro. When I tried to re-install my son's game (one of those Sesame Street educational games) I get an error message saying that there is insufficient memory to run the application-- The title of the message box is "Can't run 16-bit application"; there is no error number. I have Googled for it, but the only answers I seem to get are for the autoexe.nt file being corrupt; however, my specific problem is not listed in the symptoms.
I just bought a HP Laptop Computer and it has installed in it, Works for Windows. When I try to run the word processor part it come up with this message:
"The Application Failed to start because LTKRN13N.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix the problem."I click [ok] and the window closes. Then another windows opens and says this: Windows cannot access one or more required files. The files may have been renamed, deleated or moved. Try re-installing Works and then starting the program again.
where it came from...and how it can be fixed??? It started about 3-4 days ago....only thing different about computer is that our internet was down for a bit due to a big storm we had...?The instruction at "0x014d3195" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read"I don't know if this is serious or not...but not a message I've ever seen before!
I keep getting this Application Error The instruction at "0x76c91645" referenced memory at "0x00000014". The memory could not be "read" Click on ok to terminate the program I get it closing certain programs by clicking on the X in upper right hand corner.like closing taskmgr.exe, spybot, adware, even HiJackthis, and some others. Ran adware, spybot, scanned for errors using Norton, scanned for virus etc.
a virus on their machine ,I don't know which or what, then tried to get rid of it by reloading windows. Because I teach office applications such as word, excel etc, they think I can fix it for them straight away. I have a little knowledge, they have none so to speak. Someone has pointed me to your site and so I thought I would give you guys a shot. What is happening. - The computer hard drive has got very little on it - but it is running very very slow. I know this is processor memory not storage memory that governs the speed, but I thought you needed to know that bit of info. The email doesn't appear to be working - it says the IMAP setting is wrong but I have checked the email account properties and they all look ok to me. It will log onto the internet - eventually - but is exceptionally slow and will not open any pages - although the browser window opens it keeps saying 'page cannot be displayed'. I have run adaware - but there wasn't much on it - although it did say that it could not delete 'deskadserve'.....
I was working on my computer last night and everything was fine. This morning I turned it on and got a message saying windows couldn't start because the file windowssystem32configsystem was missing or corrupt. The only option that I seem to have is to reformat and reinstall all the software which will wipe out all of my files. It have weeks of work on that computer. I sometimes back up online but it's been a long time since I've done that. Is there someway that I can fix it without a total reinstall?
My computer starts up. It goes to the gateway screen where I have options to press f2 and f10. Then it goes to the screen that I don't know what to call where I have an option to press f11...something I'd like to avoid doing if possible. Then it goes to a new screen saying that windows couldn't start up and gives me 5 options: Safe mode, Safe mode with Networking, Safe mode with Command Prompt, Last known settings that worked, and Start Windows Normally. Last known settings that worked and Start Windows Normally both go to the windows loading screen, which loads for a bit, and then my computer resets. All three Safe Modes start running off system32 directories and stop at system32DrivesagpCPQ.sys before my computer resets.
I have got the following error on XP under a video editing app. The app is VirtualDubMod. I never got this error before. The error is below. The instruction "0x025397a8" referenced memory at "0x01bc39f0". The memory could not be read. What exactly does that mean? How do I fix it? Is it possible to fix it?

I am abysmally unlucky using newsgroups.I tend to get no reply at all.If I do something wrong, please let me know.I do need help.I am getting an error trying to delete a user account on a Windows XP Home machine which was heavily infected (virus, mal-ware, dialers, etc).I tried to delete the user account and specified to save the files.I got the message "The specified local group does not exist" and every other attempt yields "Could not complet the operation due to error 80070402". I have googled around and I am seeing this message turn up, but I am finding no resolution steps that will work on the XP Home OpSys.
I have a graphic aplication, but when I try to open it the pc give the message (you need at least 3 mb of virtual memory) how I can increase that kind of memory?
When down loading certain Norton updates, I get the message "couldn't create callback object" What does that mean, and more to the point, how do I fix it?
