Application Error Memory Could Not Written

Today, for the first time, when I signed on I get this big dialog box that states:winlogon.exe Application Error The instruction at 0x77f83aed referenced memory at 0x00440052. The memory could not be written. Click OK to terminate Click Cancel to debug.I tried BOTH Cancel and then OK with no results.When I clicked OK the programs would eventually come up, but I've found my application SCREEN SHOT DELUXE won't come up don't know if that is related or not.Also, had a little problem with Word Perfect on one boot, don't know EXACTLY what or IF these would be affected by this problem.I have a Dell 8250, Windows XP Pro, 512 RAM, 120 gig hard drive, 2.5 GHz.

Just started getting this error message. [see attachment] It pops up seemingly at random; startup, browsing, even while I left the computer for awhile (no tasks running). The app is different most every time, tho (eg. <whatever>.exe).

I get an application error on start up before ever making a move to open any programs. The instruction at "0x009a6f9a" referenced memory at "0x00000000" could not be written. The moment I noticed this issue was after an install of my Printer/Fax/scanner by HP, It is a wireless printer so the firewall asked if it should unblock for the install process. My question is should I try to go back to a restore point before that install or is there a workaround for this error.

My lap top (IBM think pad 600E) running windows 2000 professional has suddenly slowed down completely "when opening from switching on and when opening "all" new programs inc. Int Explorer, Outlook Express, windows, Skype etc. However - once a program finally opens it generaly works at full speed!!!I also get from time to time the message - (The memory could not be written. )In addition the Disc clean up program will not "clean up" - it just hangs there after starting for ever.Looked for a virus through AVG, and defragged, also took out programs not used often etc. Installed anti "Spy Bot" - which found 6 "bad" products - but won't / can't remove them.

i get this weird message just before shutdown:-the instruction at 0x01604617 referenced memory at 000000007, the memory could not be written. i have ran a disk check and it has come up clean. any ideas? someone said it might be malware? what is malware, and how do you scan for it?

I am trying to re-install a game on my computer. Due to a good virus attack, I was forced to reformat my hardrive and re-install Windows XP Pro. When I tried to re-install my son's game (one of those Sesame Street educational games) I get an error message saying that there is insufficient memory to run the application-- The title of the message box is "Can't run 16-bit application"; there is no error number. I have Googled for it, but the only answers I seem to get are for the autoexe.nt file being corrupt; however, my specific problem is not listed in the symptoms.

I am having problems with Automatic Updates and I keep getting the following error:
svchost.exe -- application error the instruction at "0x745f2780" reference memory at "0x00000000". the memory could not be 'read'
I have tried numerous fixes and it will not work. I tried turning off AU and manually installing the updates but it just hangs up. It is only the Office 2003 updates that did not update.

I keep getting this Application Error The instruction at "0x76c91645" referenced memory at "0x00000014". The memory could not be "read" Click on ok to terminate the program I get it closing certain programs by clicking on the X in upper right hand corner.like closing taskmgr.exe, spybot, adware, even HiJackthis, and some others. Ran adware, spybot, scanned for errors using Norton, scanned for virus etc.

I have got the following error on XP under a video editing app. The app is VirtualDubMod. I never got this error before. The error is below. I've been reading that Photoshop is being written for 64 bit. In view of what I've read about Vista will I be better off installing XP 64. I currently use XP 32 with no problems.

I get INST32.EXE Application Error Box with Message Application failed to intialize (0xc0000006) Click Ok to terminate . push OK twice to remove box. I am trying to load my Printmaster Platinum 7.0 or 8.0 and neighter will load. I have been trying to get this fixed for over 3 weeks. Nothing I have found will work.

Good morning, I have a couple of problems and I can't figure out how to get my computer back to where it used to be. I think it has something to do with updating windows. I get messages everytime I try to open a photo or a file. One message is Explorer EXE-Application Error, The instruction of ox600470a4 referenced memory at ox600470a4. The memory could not be written. Click on ok to terminate the program, click on cancel to debug the program. I clicked on debug and the program I got a message about Dr. Watson trying to communicate with ? and I clicked ok. Then the photo closed and all the icons disappeared and the reappeared. When I opened the same photo again, I got the following message. Data Execution Prevention-Microsoft Windows to help protect your computer, Windows has closed this program and also Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close, etc. Again the program shuts down. Basically, I can't open anything without the error messages. I can't copy cd's either as I have in the past with Nero. The program starts and then I get a read message or the cd just will not copy. Is there a way that I can do a restore and have my computer back to where it was 3 weeks ago? I could do that with my old computer Windows 98se. I have a HP Media M7060n now and I have XP home edition. Up to now I have had no problems. This computer is very different from my old one and I have no clue how I would do a restore. I just want a restore from 3 weeks ago, not a complete restore. I think the problem has to do with a windows update. I think I did one just before these problems occured. I lost my virus protection and had to reinstall it. I thought maybe that was the problem so I uninstalled it, but that wasn't it. So..here I am very frustrated. My friend has a laptop with XP Professional installed. It was bought 2nd hand with no discs. Can he install XP Home Edition and use the Product key on the base of the laptop,or is this key only for Pro.Failing that can he use a new XP Home Upgrade to go over top of the Pro Edition?In case anyone is thinking the obvious, it isn't stolen. He just wants to wipe everything out and put on the laptop what he wants. I was thinking of using my XP Home for the job.

I get the following error evry time my Windows XP Media Center PC boots

I cannot get it to boot in safe mode but I can boot to a DOS prompt in the Microsoft Windows Recovery console.

After having the comp for a week or so (got it from a friend for cheap, in perfect condition) any time i try opening a program such as Word, the Open With screens pops up, and i have to find the program manually and open it. when try to open anything in the control panal, such as add/remove programs, an error pops up that reads:

I just bought a HP Laptop Computer and it has installed in it, Works for Windows. When I try to run the word processor part it come up with this message:

Error from any application that tries to access the Internet. This includes IE, the Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, Limeware, uTorrent, any application, the moment I try to access the Interent with it. For example, I'll get the error the moment I try to log on with MSN, but not when I initially launch the messenger. However, if I don't actually click the Don't Send button, the applications work just fine...The problem has started when I accidently turned off the PC without a proper shut down.I don't actually get the errors in Safe Mode, but then again, I have no internet connection there.

This is a past post that someone else posted but I'm having the same problem and I did not understand the solution. Here is what he put:"Windows won't start up on my badly-infected WinXP PIV. It gets past the logging on to windows prompt and then this error message comes up userinit.exe application error (0xc0000005) and Windows then fails to load completely. This also occurs in safe mode and I haven't been able to bypass Windows and boot directly to DOS by using the F8 key on startup."
