I recently purchased a new computer that came free with it's own Photo Shop program, so every time I try to edit a picture in My Pictures folder it opens THAT program instead of PAINT, which is what I want to edit the pictures in. Anyone got any clues how to set it right?
When attempting to Edit photos in My Pictures, window pops up advising that, "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel."

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to put the pictures that I saved from the My Pictures folder back to the My Pictures folder. I have set one of them as the new desktop background. (It was before the format).I have typed in "Export Pictures from CD to My Pictures folder" without the quotes and I get a list of links pertaining to CD recording errors and other things like that. I did right click on a picture in Drive E (my CD-RW) just to see what would come up and I noticed that on the Send To menu that these pictures can be sent to the desktop.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have taken a series of pictures on different days and downloaded them into a folder in My Pictures. I need to put them in a sequence so I right clicked each picture and re-named it as follows: 001jpg, 002jpg and so on for 100 pictures. In view, I selected arrange icons by modified and all the pictures moved to the sequence I wanted. All is well and good until I copied the folder to a CD. All the pictures reverted to their original sequence instead of the sequence I put them in.
How can I copy the folder with the pictures in the sequence I put them in? Whenever I open the picture file to look at that folder, they are always in the sequnce I put them in

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am unable to successfully boot up Win2K on my one hard drive because Symantec Ghost is failing to load. Specifically, the error message reads that the Logon User Interface Failed: File c:/Program Files/Symantec/Norton/Ghost/ginastub.dll has failed to load. There is no other option but to restart and it just comes back to this message. All support I have found about this message points to deleting the ginastub.dll Registry key. However, I can't not get to that hard drive's registry because (1) windows does not load, (2) since windows does not completely load, I can not edit the registry through the network. So, I am left with adding the HD as a slave to another computer and editing the Registry that way. Does anyone know how that can be done, editing a secondary hard drive's Registry?

going through control_panel>user_accounts> and switching the account to a limited doesn't work (some progs can still be installed).Going into computer Management gives me the ability to look at the groups and move user names from one group to another, but I can't edit/modify what each group is allowed to do. Right clicking on group and selecting properties gives me this.Going into Group_Policy allows me to edit what users can do, but it applies the changes to every user (including the admin).
I want to open .jpg files using Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, and I have changed the file association to do that. The problem is, when I click on the "open image for editing" button, it opens Paint. I want it to open Photoshop. There appear to be no options (or any other) menus available.

In both instances, the DM is reporting that the 'Multimedia Audio Controller' and the 'PCI Simple Communications Controller' are not correctly recognized (drivers not installed).I've done some searching online and many people suggest that a dial-up modem is the culprit behind the messages. In fact, there isn't a dial-up modem installed in my system, only a 10/100 NIC which works fine with both Windows native driver and the maker's driver.I've also searched for the PCI commun. control. drivers online to find that I have nothing to download. I'm not entirely sure what this controller does, although I can most likely find the multimedia audio controller. It's worth noting that XP is acting flakey sometimes when I use explorer to navigate around directories, and that I was recently unable to install Sisoft's SANDRA diagnostics app. Otherwise, the system seems to be stable enough to use online and for basic text editing.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am using an old Dell with XP and Internet Explorer 7. When previewing some images I have stored in My Pictures, I find when using the 'previous' and 'next' buttons I am able to pull up the next or previous pictures as I should. But when I e-mail an image to myself and then use the 'next' or 'previous' buttons, I begin to get images from web sites I have recently visited even if it is just my home page. While scanning my home page, for instance, I collect dozens of images in a matter of minutes.The only change I have made recently is a download of info from a digital camera disc to enable me to store pictures from my new camera.
I did a system restore to a couple of days before that download but I'm still copying dots, dashes, logos and pictures or frames from videos.
Aside from Paint lagging, the rest of my computer is kinda slow lately, and there are a bunch of SVCHOST.exe's that seem to be running when i look at the task manager. I killed the one that was taking up the most memory usage and the computer was slightly better... in Paint, I could actually use the Pencil tool without lagging, but the scrolling and paintbucket was laggy still.

I key ctrl/alt/and prtscn to cache screen shots. I can no longer save to Paint. The pencil icon is on first instead of the select. It will not show the paste button on the drop down menu only the select all.
I can use paint using my scanner but not screen shots which I use all the time.
