Jul 6, 2007after installing acrobat on my machine, I realised that my FILE print port for postscript printing had been deleted. Need help to reinstall the print port.

Mar 18, 2006when i start up and log on under my name and as admin all my programs try to open with acrobat reader.i have to right click and run as but system files eg misconfig. control panel i can't open.two other accounts with out admin rights are running as normal from start up?

Jul 9, 2005I have recently tried to reinstall some oldish games (rainbow 6, Total Annhilation) and when you select install, an error pops up:
16 bit windows subsystem
C:WINDOWSSYSTEM32AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application. Examination of that folder shows that I do not have a file called Autoexec.nt at all, is this correct? These games have run on this PC before and the error applies to multiple games suggesting a system problem. Is there a way of repairing or checking windows to replace this file. I did get a virus recently however Norton said it quarantined it - this might have
affected windows though prior to this I had noticed no differeance.

Attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the Original CD-ROM. Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair.
So I enter the cd rom and press 'r' for repair, I choose C:windows, however before it can begin to repair it asks me for an 'Administration Password' which I have no idea of after many attempts.
I do not want to have to format the pc since I have some very important files on it. Any help is appreciated.

Jan 7, 2007was getting a blue screen 07A was told by computer techs without looking it was either my hard drive or my operating system. Checked my hard drive several different ways and no problems. So I went to do a Windows XP repair instead of complete reinstall as they are a pain. After a long time it came back that couldn't do this because SPCMDCOM>SYS file was missing and couldn't repair from recovery console without it. My hard drive was replaced by Dell in July of 05 I think. What can I do without going to extremes? Secondly can I install my cd/dvd rom on my other Dell PC with discs I already have? I am very aggravated. I want to try to save at least 1 computer. On the 1st PC about 2 months ago I had my 17 inch flat panel go out it starts but then go black, I am using the 2nd computers screen!

Nov 26, 2007I have a pc that has mine and a roomates account on it.it would not finish booting to the main Windows desktop screen.It sits at the "Windows XP Home Edition" loading screen for about 2 or so min. then goes black for another 2 min. then a little white arrow cursor comes up and the screen is still black. Jul 6, 2005Sometimes I will highlight a range of photo files and open them into Picture and Fax viewer. I can then page through all the photos I selected. Occasionally though, I will load a range of photos into the viewer and photos from outside the range I selected get loaded into the viewer. When this has happened, I've gone back and reselected the range and tried it again and still get pictures loading from outside the range I wanted. Also, I notice on the viewer's print wizard that pictures/documents from outside my range of selected documents are sometimes presented for printing. Anyone know how that happens and how do you fix it?

I had her go to Folder Options to change it but she only has the General and View tabs.Got the file type changed by right clicking and Open With but I'd like some ideas of how to get the missing tabs in Folder Options to show.

Sep 15, 2009I have Office XP loaded on my PC, with added graphic filters, conversion filters and the 2007 compatibility pack loaded. Just yesterday, I tried to open a Word 2007 doc (.docx) which usually opens with the added compatibility filters. When the conversion list appeared, there were only 5 items listed, where there should have been around 20. Can't figure out where they went. I reloaded my filters and compatibility pack, but still can't open file and only get 5 items in conversion table. It almost seems as if the filters are being turned off. Any ideas? Is this a registry problem?
