I am using your prscribed approach for attacking an error message: "Error Loading DOCEOC16B1". According to your directions I'm to send you the following notepad file from Hijack. I'm new to this so I'll leave this in your hands.
Best regards...rob graber

I'm getting the "An Error Has Occured and Internet Explorer Must Close" message a lot. It's happened about 10 times today. I did a lot of Microsoft Updates today. Would that be the cause
A small window comes with message " Error loading newdev.dll".After clicking on OK button I got one more window with message:"Administrator privileges are required to install, uninstall,or configure the DSL software".Following troubleshooting steps I have performed:I have downloaded the DSL software from the interned instead of working with the original CD that came with the broadband.
I've got three exactly the same computers (HP and also all the components are identical). They came with new, unformatted, HD's. When I got them I formatted the HD's and installed Windows XP Professional (no SP) and everything worked fine.I now wanted to make a fresh start, so I formatted the HD's once again and installed Windows XP Professional (SP3). After this install I noticed that a number of devices weren't working. I checked the device manager and saw the audio device, ethernet port and video controller in the list, but with a yellow exclamation mark. It saw the devices, but it didn't install the drivers.
I'm trying to reinstall MSN Messenger because it suddenly stopped working...but I cannot uninstall or repair it. When I try to access C:Program Files MSN Messenger, my PC freezes for a while then a message appears telling me that 'The Disk in drive C is not formatted. Format it now? Yes/No'I also cannot delete the MSN folder because I get a 'data error (cyclic redundancy check)' message. Is there a way I can get ris of the MSN Messenger folder in order to reinstall?
I was trying to remove some items from the start up list on msconfig. It then told me to reboot. So after I logged on, a message popped up saying that I had altered the start up list. Is this normal/okay and can I press "don't show this message again"?
I wanted my xp to look like vista..so i downloaded "longhorn" but after completing all the process of longhorn my parents told to keep the xp look only.I thought to restore the pc on early time of 1 day ago.But after restoration its written on my monitor that there is some prob.in operating system maybe corrupt.
While i try to open folder on ftp server from IE explorer 6 on winXP sp2 pro win2003 I get an error message""an error occured that opening folder on ftp server. Make shure you have permission to access that folder."from win 98 or win 2000 i have not problem to open folders.

In a little bit of a situation. My laptop is not loading up, after about 20secs it states "Disk read error occurred- CLT+ALT+DEL to restart. But it just happend again and again. I've been reading around and everyone is saying just use the xp install disk to repair the master boot, problem is I have moved that many time is the past 2years I have no idea where that CD is.I've downloaded DiskInternals Boot CD and it will start on this. But it wont actaully repair the disk, just scan it I've used diskcheck via cmd on the boot cd but it states there is a master boot registry failure.
i am finding a missing file named ks.sys.i have been trying to install audio devices for my computer and it will not allow me to install them because i'm missing files. at first i was missing ksuser.dll file but i was able to download that and install it, and now its asking for the ky.sys file.
I have recently installed this OS on the PC I'm using right now, it used to have Win ME, which is probably by far the worst Windows that has ever existed. The PC runs way better than it used to overall, but I do have one big **** of a problem: I recieve an error message that says "can't find the specified file" when I try to install a program. Programs I've tried to install:
Adobe Reader Winzip W2KSP4 (service pak 4) Windows installer 3.1 And a few more.
Basically anything that has to be extracted or self-extracts. Could this be a problem with the temporary folder, or not enough RAM? (128 MB) Also: I have saved all this programs on the hard drive, I'm not running them from a network, the internet, or any other drive. Keep in mind that I can't install winzip or winrar so I can't use them to fix any problems. I've scanned the hard drive for errors (complete surface scan), ran virus and spyware checks... I have Spyware Doctor and AVG Free antivirus installed on my PC, I don't know if either could be interfering with my PC's performance.
I have had this problem numerous times in the past where the installation proceeds then ends with the messages: During the installation of the device. The system cannot find the file specified and it goes into a detection loop
a message keeps popping up saying the following: Cannot load dialog. Error 623: The system could not find the phone book entry for this connection. All I can do is click the close button and it goes away and nothing else seems to happen, but it pops up again in a few minutes.
Can someone tell me why, when I open a notepad file, whether from notepad or from Start Documents or what have you, I always get an error message: "Windows cannot find [file locationfilename.txt]. Make sure you type the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search." However, the file does open in notepad behind this error message and I am able to view it, edit it, etc.
I would like this error message not to appear every time (it is really just an annoyance to cancel it every time but after a couple of years I am tired of it) so I tried to find this answer in the archives but to no avail. However, I saw that it was recommended by more than one tech guy (or gal) to save a "hijack this" file in notepad, so I followed the instructions and did that just after my latest error message... The "hijack this" copy of the notepad file follows, and if you see anything else that I should make note of please let me know....
When trying to run my Iomega backup, I receive an error on a file: "The system cannot find the file".When trying to delete this file, I receive the message "Cannot delete file: cannot read from the source file or disk".The file has 0 bytes and is not in use it is not marked read only.
I have started getting the following message in my event viewer: Event ID 7000 Service Control Manager The SVKP service failed to start. The system cannot find the file specified. I did a search for SVKP on the services displayed via Sysinfo and got the following result: ??windows Kernal Driver State=stopped I did a full search for SVKP on my hard drive but came up with nothing
"GetLastError()=2: The system cannot find the file specified"
This is the error message I get when trying to uninstall a program (corel painter). I can't even access the program. When I do I get a "R6002 floating point cannot be loaded error."
I have a PC with XP sp2 home addition. there are some corrupt files due to a virus (cleaned now). When I try to either reinstall or deinstall Windows XP sp2 I receive the "the system cannot find the file specified" error. I extracted the sp2 .exe file and run the update.exe file and get the same error. I tried to look at the event viewer, but, it is corrupt as well
I am having problems being able to install updates from microsoft. I uninstalled SP3 and when trying to reinstall, I get the "The system cannot find the file specified" message. This message also occurs when starting Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint etc.I tried renaming SoftwareDistribution folder & deleting contents but to no avail. I tried manual download in safemode but same error.
I've tried and searched throughout the wholeee web it seems like, and I just can't figure out this problem. This error message pops up everytime I try to unzip a .exe file. I've already checked for antivirus programs that might be blocking it, but there's nothing.
I just can't figure it out. All the other stuff from the .zip unzips, but when it reaches the .exe file it gives the error.

Running XP Home Edition. I run SP2 setup. It does it's inspections and the last text I see displayed before it gives me "an internal error occured" is 'checking product ID.' I checked the numerical product ID and it does not match those as listed as Pirated. This computer has several issues and really should be reloaded, but the user has 'misplaced' the CD's that came with the system. Below is the latest attempt at running SP2 according to my svcpack.log
I have a user with a home driectory that has created a folder with mutliple folders within it. I am not sure how far the direcroty goes, but I have counted to at least 26 directories deep. I cannot delete the parent folder in either explorer, or from the prompt. At the prompt I have tried RD foldername and it says, "Folder not empty". Tried del foldername*.* with no error and still cannot delete it.
My computers motherboard got fried a while back so I got a new one installed from a pc shop. They also reinstalled xp for me. Been working fine up until recently when I had to update norton. Once I installed my new norton and tried updating its protection it completely collapsed my xp so I had to try and re install xp mysellf only to find the same symptoms that many other xp installers appear to be suffering from. On installation process my hard drive was not detected. I tried other routes such as changing the bios settings disable sata control in the peripheral settings and I also tried making my own xp install cd including the drivers needed for the xp installl to be able to detect the hard drive but was unsuccesssful.
I am running windows xp sp3. I tried to uninstall Frost Wire, via add or remove programs. I noticed that after it supposedly uninstalled from the a or r file the shortcut was still listed on my desktop. So I searched for F W and found a few references that popped up after my search. When I right clicked on them and tried to delete, that is when I received the above error message
