System Wont Find Any Default Drivers After OS Installation?

I've got three exactly the same computers (HP and also all the components are identical). They came with new, unformatted, HD's. When I got them I formatted the HD's and installed Windows XP Professional (no SP) and everything worked fine.I now wanted to make a fresh start, so I formatted the HD's once again and installed Windows XP Professional (SP3). After this install I noticed that a number of devices weren't working. I checked the device manager and saw the audio device, ethernet port and video controller in the list, but with a yellow exclamation mark. It saw the devices, but it didn't install the drivers.

I plugged in my WD passport external hard drive into my USB port on my pc that has a newly installed copy of windows xp professional. The new hardware installer pops up, I chose the auto find drivers. Then it copied over called Initio. After that I got another little window asking to give the location of this missing file ivusbWxp86.sys.

Reinstalled WinXP and now all my drivers are missing. This CPU was custom made. At first i thought all i had to do was download the chipset and the geforce 4 driver. But now i'm confused.

I just installed XP on my Toshiba A60 Laptop and I am getting no sound or battery meter. When I look at my device manager under 'Other Devices' there is Multimedia Audio Controller, PCI Modem and SM Bus Controller which all need drivers.

Is there anybody who can tell how I can add a driver so that windows Xp recognize this and does a unattended installation of the hardware device (a example is a USB mouse) But the Windows XP is alreay installed so, I am not really looking for a sysprep solution?

I have successfully created a USB installation routine for Windows XP using Multiboot.cmd. The problem i am having is that the installation works perfectly on evry machine i have tried it on apart from Dell machines.
It gets as far as Setup is Starting Windows (after loading in all the background drivers) and then Blue Screens with error 0x0000007b. I have scoured the internet and found nothing of any use on this error code.
It does state that when installing from USB to ensure that no other USB devices are plugged in but the mouse and keyboard themselves are USB devices.

I have 2 partitions on my computer, and I have Windows installed on C, and everything else I am putting on D. Is there any way to default it so when I load new programs, it tries to load to D:Program Files instead of C:Program Files?

XP will prompt for the installation CD.To facilitate the process, you can copy the i386 folder on the CD to you local hard drive and change the registry, so that XP will look for them automaticallyEdit these 2 change the value to the correct i386 folder (eg. e:i386 to c:i386)change to the correct drive letter

what i'm trying to do is install a SAMSUNG SGH-D600 mobile phone under WinXP via USB cable (original Samsung cable from the box). For this post the results are for the new drivers from the "Samsung PC Studio 311 FKB" package.But, i've been getting the same thing with the earlier versions of Samsung SGH-D600 Drivers, as well as Mobile Action drivers for D600.

I can't install my sound card and i don't know what make or model it is and i don't have a CD 4 it. I have only had the problem since i completely formatted my hard disk and re-installed XP home, I have looked around the XP disk and i can't find any folder 2 do with drivers. In device manager under other devices it says: multimedia audio controller with a yellow ,as well as Video controller also having the yellow.

How do you find out what correct drivers to use on your computer?? I recently had a driver issue and was trying to upgrade my Nvidia drivers which I removed via the add/remove program but I'm now unable to get the correct version for my computer. I downloaded NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4600 [Display adapter] but everything (icons, fonts, etc) comes out miniaturized now!!!

I purchased a SIIG PCI firmware adapter. It has no drivers and says that it will use Win XP drivers. Well I installed the board and booted the pc, Win XP
recognized the hardware but could not find any drivers. I tried unplugging it manually, installing it in another card slot with no luck. I took it back to
my pc dealer and he plugged it in his system and had no problems. I decide to try another brand, an IO Gear GIC1394.

A friends HP Media Center PC m7077c crashed. Had no recover disk, etc. Installed XP Pro SP2 and I need drivers (according to Device Manager). No sound is obvious but video controller is not. Video seems okay. Where do I find drivers for this machine. XP Pro, Home and MCE are different OS's ... as far as my experience. The drivers are not the same.

Anyway I found the problem (the cable had been damaged) and now the computer can see it but cant find any drivers for it.Under drive properties it says the drivers are not installed code 28 I dont know the manufacturer of it either, the properties just say standard CD-ROM Drive

I know I was maybe getting into troble with XP 64 (pro sp2) I tried driver genius and driver finder (hope the money back is true) both failed

I recently was forced to reformat my boot drive (I use Windows Xp Home Edition). I have a second hard drive, which I had mirrored my OS. The drive is my new boot drive, but I have noticed I can not install drivers anymore, despite the fact my user profile shows as having admin rights.

I recently bought an xp home edition disc and did a fresh install on my computer because my old installation that came with my Packard Bell iMedia got completely messed up over time Anyway, I have now no drivers for anything. I downloaded the correct nvidia driver, which was easy to locate and which fixed numerous problems. However, windows doesnt ever know the logitech speakers are there.

I've just reinstalled windows xp media center edition on my mams toshiba satalite a50 laptop but i cant get onto the internet using ethernet because i can't find the drivers well i goto install my bt home hub and it says i can only connect to the internet by using the usb wire and doesnt give me a option to use the internet throught the ethernet wire. so i install the usb drivers for the homehub and connect to the hub using usb then i went onto the toshiba website and downloaded the drivers so i could try and get my ethernet connection working but nothing seems to get it working plus my wireless connection doesnt work ther isnt anything on my computer that gives me a option to connect to the wireless network.

I use two hard drives, a smaller one that runs XP and a larger one for primarily storage. I replaced the storage drive...this had been the "first" drive and was labeled c: while the one running XP was labeled d:I installed the new drive and rebooted. In the process, the volume labels flipped: the primary drive became c: and the storage drive becoming d: This has thrown Windows into a world of confusion and all previously installed programs show up as uninstalled. They are still there in "program files" but many of them refuse to open, reporting not being able to find .dll files which I can search for and find on the computer.

When the storm died down I booted the computer up and it made a series of "ca-click, ca-click" (that's pretty much exactly what it sounded like, too) noises. It ran slowly, but it managed to boot up. I ran all my programs normally, including logging into World of Warcraft. I got disconnect from the server (DSL hiccup, I think) and went to log back in. There's a bug in the game that sometimes causes computers to freeze on re-logging automatically into an instance. I could still hear ventrilo, but the monitor was frozen.
I told people I'd brb and pressed the power button. It rebooted and this time it made a LOT more clicking noises and paused at a black screen after the dell logo went away. After a few minutes it told me that one of my sys.dll files was missing and I needed to put in the windows disc and repair. Every time I subsequently restarted, a different file was supposedly missing. Sometimes it was NSFW and sometimes it was something else.

I recently downgraded my Gateway Notebook MT6841 (http://support.gateway.com/s/Mobile/...4584Rsp3.shtml) from Vista to XP.for obvious reasons.I was thrilled to find out that they dont supply drivers for the Mobo's Video card, audio, and modem drivers for XP.
