Each of my records has a person from a school. Each school from 1 to 9 people, thus from 1 to 9 records. I can sort by school name and manually check all the people from one school but I would like to automate the selection.I want to know how to create my master form so that I list each person from one school on one page, then automate the switch to a new list on a new page each time the school name changes.
Going crazy trying to back up my Quicken 2004 files to CD-RW. The instructions for doing this from Intuit do not work. I have the latest patch which is release3. It claims that the built in CD burner program in XP will open if I click on file then backup. Nothing happens. Where is the built in Cd burner program? Dell was no help as was Quicken.
I go into Word, Excel, etc. after about 15 seconds it tells me that Word has encountered a problem and that it needs to close. I can't do anything. Print, open attachments, start on a new doc, anything
For some reason i get an error when downloading a game and people say that deleting Microsoft Office Excel 2003 worked for them. So i went to delete it in the Add/Remove programs but i couldn't find it. Can anyone help me delete this. I want to completely remove it from my PC.
I just install SP2 the other day and there are a few fixes I need, I've gotten more of the compatitbility issue Number 1 is with Excel. When I open up any workbook it treats the left mouse button as pressed. So when I go to click on any cell is highlights it and tries to select an entire group. The only way for me to close the program is to use the taskmanager or right click the program on my start bar.Number 2 is WMP. Some video files I had don't play sound anymore and I have all the same codecs as before.
I had a major crash and had to reinstall my Windows XP SP2, so I have had to reinstall most of my programs. Now whenever I load Excel, it takes a minute to "install excel features". I would think one install of whatever features it is installing would be sufficient. Why does it keep installing the same features and how can I get it to quit doing this?I am using Excel 2003 on a Gygabyte GA-8IEX mother board with a Pentium IV 2.53 cpu.
I've been fighting with Microsoft update web site for about a week and a half now. All of the sudden when I go there to get updates, all I get is the option to click on Express or Custom. Then when it gets to the page where ya see the green balls moving across the page while its scanning my system to see if I need any updates, it just stays there and if I stay at that page too long, my PC locks up.
I'm running XP Pro with 500MHz and 256 in ram. I've tried to contact Microsoft tech guys that I can barley understand and they have no idea what's going on. It doesn't make any difference if its a fresh install of XP Pro with nothing else installed except for my wireless card so I can connect to the net, or the current system I'm running now.

Upon starting Quicken 2004 Basic, I got a notification that I had to reinstall Quicken,Upon starting an uninstall of Quicken 2004, I got an Error 1316.A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file C:WINDOWSInstallerQuicken 2004.msl. I have used Windows install clean up, and have run a registry cleaner. I also have gone into the registry, and deleted anything pertaining to Quicken. No matter what I try, Quicken won't reinstall, because I can't uninstall the previous Quicken.
I have hit another wall. Using W2K-Pro I installed VirtualPC 2004-SP1. I then installed DOS 6.22.I began the win3.1 install and at the end of the second disk when it launches win3.1-Setup and asks for a Name and Company the Virtual Machine hangs. No mouse, no blinking cursor.I can right-Alt to shut down the VM. OK, so I though it might be the USB mouse and keyboard so I shut it all down and plugged in a M$oft PS/2 mouse and keyboard. Same problem with the win3.1 install. Not to be beaten, I went to another PC also running W2K-Pro. Exact same issue with win3.1. Not be be beaten again, again I installed VPC-2004 on an XP-Pro, damn me, same again at the end of the win3.1 second diskette. I have tried installing DOS and win3.1 onto a 486 machine and it installs fine so I doubt it is a faulty diskette.
I installed Window XP upgrade and didn't realize that it would disable my Norton antivirus 2004. After installation, Windows informed me that Norton would have to be reinstalled. I tried reinstalling it, but couldn't until the disabled one was uninstalled. When I tried to uninstall it, there were some files that the uninstall program couldn't find, so the uninstall failed. I need to know how I can get the disabled one off my system so that I can reinstall Norton again.
I recently bought a Acer Travelmate 8000 laptop from ebay, it has a Mobility Radeon 9700 in it. Trouble is, because Acer arent in ATI's list of approved venders or something, I cant install the ATI mobility drivers, OR indeed, the normal Radeon drivers. Anyone have any way around this, or any other ideas.
Norton Antivirus 2004 never Live Update the definition files. Last month downloaded a definitions file from directly Symantec web site. By now it is already one month old and I have to download again the LARGER definition file. I have a slow dial-up connection.
I am running Windows XP. I went to the Properties on the Start Menu and decided to switch from Classic Start Menu to the newer version. In the list of programs on the new Start menu was EXCEL.EXE, but the icon was wrong and when I clicked on it, it couldn't find Excel. I went to the properties of the link and changed EXCEL.EXE to Excel. It still not working, I deleted the link. Now whenever I click on an icon on my desktop, the system tries to open it with Excel. Apparently the change screwed something up, but I do not know how to get back to where I was before.
I recently did a PCRegistryCleaner "recommended speedup" via running "services.msc" every time I open an Excel file I get a Windows Installer Preparing to instal screen which must be Cancelled before Excel will open up. There were many items recommended to be Disabled and I'm wondering if anyone can suggest an easy way to fix my problem rather than working tediously through every Disabled item one at a time?
When I insert comments into Excel spreadsheet, I know that there's a way to put your name at the top line of the comments automatically, but I just don't know how to do that.
Just had a new PC at work, gone from 2000 to XP. In 2000 when I had multiple workbooks open and used ALT + TAB there would just be one icon for Excel, now there's one for each workbook I have open. Just had 8 open at once so finding my way around is a pain, know there will probably be just a box to tick somewhere, but damned if I can find it! Anyone else know where to change this setting?
I was using Excel and tried to access the help screen, a gray window opened with no content. I had the Office XP installation disk "repair" the installation. there was no change. I tried MSWord. Help screen was same as in Excel - blank. I then tried to access Help and Support Center from the Start Menu. It would not open. I solved the probem by running the restore tool from the System Tools folder and setting the machine back to a time 1 week earlier, but I have no idea what would cause this issue. My machine uses ZoneAlarm Pro, Norton Anti-Virus, Sunbelt CounterSpy and is behind a router so I don't think it was the result of a malicious program.
I have been having this problem in excel lately when i open muliple sheets in excel it gives me this error message "EXCEL cannot open with available resourses ,choose to close data and other applicaions".
I would like to create booking system where the date is automatically in the correct order,On the same page i also need to enter time, addresses and names.I need expert help as i am not great on computers as you can tell, i am learning slowly.
I've attached a shot of the toolbar at the foot of the screen. You'll see that one of the open programs is MS Excel. There are 5 Excel files open at the same time, but the icon only lists the active one.Until about an hour ago if I had 5 files open the Excel icon stated this and I could click on the icon to choose the file I wanted to work on and I LIKED IT THAT WAY
I have a user who cannot open DOC attachments in Outlook 2003. When she tries to open the attachment, it attempts to open the file in Excel. When she opens a doc file stored on the hard drive, it opens correctly, so I know it isn't a Windows file type association issue.
I don't remember the conditions that brought this about, but I have a very small Excel icon on my notebook's desktop that can't be deleted. It does not load and has no display when you right or left click on it and remains in the same spot.
I have exported a chart of accounts to an Excel spread sheet. I wanted to create a unique folder based on each line item in excel. Is it possible to export each line from excel to create a unique folder with that name?
I've always been able to open wk1 files in Excel. Now, I'm getting error: "Your are attempting to open a file type that is blocked by your registry policy setting" Don't know what's going on - added the wk1 file type in Folder Options & associated it with Excel - same message. Deleted that and am back to where I started.
