I have exported a chart of accounts to an Excel spread sheet. I wanted to create a unique folder based on each line item in excel. Is it possible to export each line from excel to create a unique folder with that name?
View 1 RepliesI just reinstalled Windows XP on my computer and now I cannot create a new folder. I usually right click and select New>Folder but for some reason I can't do it. I also noticed that I cannot read any of the names of the icons in My Computer. All I can see is the icon itself but no label. I've never had this problem before even after re-installing a OS.

I also have Office 2003 Professional with which I have backed up the PST file in Outlook and uninstall the whole thing because I wanted to play with Office XP. So I install the XP version with all the toys, open Outlook and proceed to import the PST file and low and behold the PST file from 2003 is not compatible! Not a big deal, I can go back BUT! I would real like to get this to work. I also Downloaded SP3 for Office XP thinking that it would help but no… I also have Incredimail which has my address book and emails from Outlook 2003 so I created a CSV file and tried to import it but it couldn’t import it saying that it came from an unrecognizable source! I don’t get that… Can I get the PST file from Office 2003 to import?

I have a folder with files I am keeping, copying it from computer to computer when I change computers. In this folder I am unable to see folder/file names unless I mark them. This has irritated me to some extent since there are around 12-13000 files in this folder by now. I have asked around at computer-tech stores, and some of my more or less nerdy friends. One of wich is mostly always able to help me but not with this.

Now whenever I load Excel, it takes a minute to "install excel features". I would think one install of whatever features it is installing would be sufficient. Why does it keep installing the same features and how can I get it to quit doing this?I am using Excel 2003 on a Gygabyte GA-8IEX mother board with a Pentium IV 2.53 cpu.

These folders appear on all of my drives c:, d:, g: and they are random. It looks like they are of another language, maybe? Actually, the wording makes no sense at all...> It looks like most of these folders previously existed.
Things I have done: Ran Anti-V program + Ewido Suite = No viruses, trojans, malware, etc. Ran three adware programs (ad-aware, spywareblaster, spyware doctor) = Clear. Checked all running processes and startup tab in mscofig = no peculiar programs detected. Ran regseeker = Phenominal amount of invalid keys, etc. (3,000+) very unusual to the norm!!!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI intalled Stripe RAID array with (2) WD 74GB Raptors which show up as C. I have a 200GB SATA HDD that was used as backup HDD in same system with previous PATA RAID array. With first XP PRO install I was able to import foreign disk with no problems and data on 200Gb was intact when I connected 200GB drive after updating XP. Because of driver problems on installation, I had to reinstall XP PRO and this time had all drives connected throughout installation. XP saw RAID and 200Gb and i installed XP on RAID array. When I try to import foreign dynamic disk this time it gives me an error," The operation did not complete. Check system log." Log : Error source is LDM. I checked and all sevices are running. 200Gb HDD is in BIOS and in device manager.

Importing everything into the new install of Firefox was a piece of cake. Everything, even the last sites I had open, imported without any issues. Outlook Express is proving more ... annoying. Microsoft's support site explains how to create new profiles, switch between those new profiles... none of which I need to do. I need to import my old Identity, from my data drive, into Outlook Express 6. I don't mean import the messages (there's not even room for them on the new partition), I just need to link the existing identity on the data drive to the new XP / Outlook Express installation.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running Windows XP. I went to the Properties on the Start Menu and decided to switch from Classic Start Menu to the newer version. In the list of programs on the new Start menu was EXCEL.EXE, but the icon was wrong and when I clicked on it, it couldn't find Excel. I went to the properties of the link and changed EXCEL.EXE to Excel. It still not working, I deleted the link.Now whenever I click on an icon on my desktop, the system tries to open it with Excel. Apparently the change screwed something up, but I do not know how to get back to where I was before.

In 2000 when I had multiple workbooks open and used ALT + TAB there would just be one icon for Excel, now there's one for each workbook I have open. Just had 8 open at once so finding my way around is a pain, know there will probably be just a box to tick somewhere, but damned if I can find it! Anyone else know where to change this setting?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just install SP2 the other day and there are a few fixes I need, I've gotten more of the compatitbility issue Number 1 is with Excel. When I open up any workbook it treats the left mouse button as pressed. So when I go to click on any cell is highlights it and tries to select an entire group. The only way for me to close the program is to use the taskmanager or right click the program on my start bar.Number 2 is WMP. Some video files I had don't play sound anymore and I have all the same codecs as before.

I had the Office XP installation disk "repair" the installation. there was no change. I tried MSWord. Help screen was same as in Excel - blank. I then tried to access Help and Support Center from the Start Menu. It would not open. I solved the probem by running the restore tool from the System Tools folder and setting the machine back to a time 1 week earlier, but I have no idea what would cause this issue. My machine uses ZoneAlarm Pro, Norton Anti-Virus, Sunbelt CounterSpy and is behind a router so I don't think it was the result of a malicious program.
