Let's say I'm checking out one of the many motorcycle forums I enjoy. I'm discussing something & I want to incorporate a web address thaat they can just click on. How do I do this? The cut & paste feature doesn't work. Do I need to change some setting on my computer?Why can't I import a picture from my documents either?

Not all data was successfully written to the registry. some keys are open by the system or other processes." what does this mean? and how do i fix it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI thought that I would try Office XP Professional which I have. I also have Office 2003 Professional with which I have backed up the PST file in Outlook and uninstall the whole thing because I wanted to play with Office XP. So I install the XP version with all the toys, open Outlook and proceed to import the PST file and low and behold the PST file from 2003 is not compatible! Not a big deal, I can go back BUT! I would real like to get this to work. I also Downloaded SP3 for Office XP thinking that it would help but no… I also have Incredimail which has my address book and emails from Outlook 2003 so I created a CSV file and tried to import it but it couldn’t import it saying that it came from an unrecognizable source! I don’t get that… Can I get the PST file from Office 2003 to import?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI want to put the pictures that I saved from the My Pictures folder back to the My Pictures folder. I have set one of them as the new desktop background. (It was before the format).I have typed in "Export Pictures from CD to My Pictures folder" without the quotes and I get a list of links pertaining to CD recording errors and other things like that. I did right click on a picture in Drive E (my CD-RW) just to see what would come up and I noticed that on the Send To menu that these pictures can be sent to the desktop.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have taken a series of pictures on different days and downloaded them into a folder in My Pictures. I need to put them in a sequence so I right clicked each picture and re-named it as follows: 001jpg, 002jpg and so on for 100 pictures. In view, I selected arrange icons by modified and all the pictures moved to the sequence I wanted. All is well and good until I copied the folder to a CD. All the pictures reverted to their original sequence instead of the sequence I put them in.
How can I copy the folder with the pictures in the sequence I put them in? Whenever I open the picture file to look at that folder, they are always in the sequnce I put them in
I tried to import my registry that i exported but it just won't let me I tried it in safe mode and it still had the same error.I reinstalled ep cuz i couldn't get it to reboot and nowI have no restore point so i need some help!!Oh since i did the reinstall its so slow to boot it seems like forever.I installed service pack 2 and that's when i started to have some problems.I have a good reg export on another hard drive that i could access but i don't know where to put it if this is a possiblity.here's the error can't import c:documents and settingmikemy documents1106 reg . some keys are open by system or other processes.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI intalled Stripe RAID array with (2) WD 74GB Raptors which show up as C. I have a 200GB SATA HDD that was used as backup HDD in same system with previous PATA RAID array. With first XP PRO install I was able to import foreign disk with no problems and data on 200Gb was intact when I connected 200GB drive after updating XP. Because of driver problems on installation, I had to reinstall XP PRO and this time had all drives connected throughout installation. XP saw RAID and 200Gb and i installed XP on RAID array. When I try to import foreign dynamic disk this time it gives me an error," The operation did not complete. Check system log." Log : Error source is LDM. I checked and all sevices are running. 200Gb HDD is in BIOS and in device manager.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI keep my OS and data on separate drives, so all of my emails are still there, my account settings and address book should be as well. Importing everything into the new install of Firefox was a piece of cake. Everything, even the last sites I had open, imported without any issues. Outlook Express is proving more ... annoying. Microsoft's support site explains how to create new profiles, switch between those new profiles... none of which I need to do. I need to import my old Identity, from my data drive, into Outlook Express 6. I don't mean import the messages (there's not even room for them on the new partition), I just need to link the existing identity on the data drive to the new XP / Outlook Express installation.

2. Certain web addresses do not load. Mostly ad servers. For example the Drudgereport.com ads do no load on my computer. Also Myway.com logo, and yahoo logo to not load. Even the ads on this site do not load.
I am using an old Dell with XP and Internet Explorer 7. When previewing some images I have stored in My Pictures, I find when using the 'previous' and 'next' buttons I am able to pull up the next or previous pictures as I should. But when I e-mail an image to myself and then use the 'next' or 'previous' buttons, I begin to get images from web sites I have recently visited even if it is just my home page. While scanning my home page, for instance, I collect dozens of images in a matter of minutes.The only change I have made recently is a download of info from a digital camera disc to enable me to store pictures from my new camera.
I did a system restore to a couple of days before that download but I'm still copying dots, dashes, logos and pictures or frames from videos.
Get message "Cann't find import;dll may be missing, corrupt or wrong version file "RTL70.BPL", error 126. Trouble shooting steps taken - 1. Turned off System Restore, 2. Ran Disk Clean Up, 3. Ran CW Shredder, 4. Ran Ad-Ware, 5. Ran Spyware (Spy-bolt, Microsoft Antispyware), 6. Ran AVG Antivirus, 7. Rebooted in the Safe Mode, 8. Reran steps 2-6, 9. Rebooted in the Normal Mode, 10. Turned System Restore back on. Still get warning message.

When I choose Save As and click on save the computer hangs up. Internet Explorer is doing the same thing. I cannot type in a URL addresses and it go to the site. None of the addresses I type in show up in the drop down menu. If it is in my favorites I can get it to respond.

View 14 Replies View RelatedThis has been a problem for me for about 2 years now.I've seen many other people complain with the same problem, but have never seen a viable solution (it's always what brands, switch channels, winsockfix, firmware, etc.)Wireless connect (Belkin Wireless Pre-N card)Win XP SP2 (updated as far as it can go) The problem: Connection becomes unstable(i.e. slow) for about 2-5 seconds, then utterly fails to connect...can't access web, can't access local address(i.e. 192.168.1.1), can't ping anything. When using DHCP on router, doing a repair (i.e. release/renew clear ARP cache, etc.) fixes. If using static IP, then I must assign a new IP. That is, I have to go from say 192.168.1.110 to 192.168.1.111
The problem is not unique to a single ISP & router. I have two networks I can access. For troubleshooting sake, I made them both unencrypted (although WEP, WPA makes no difference to the problem). I have also tried multiple channels in the theory of interference, and channel strength for both networks are good(using NetStumbler). Both networks are on far channels from each other (i.e. 1 & 11), and there are no other networks detected in the area by WinXP or NetStumbler.Net #1) Ameritech DSL Modem ->DLink Router ->Belkin Pre-N Wireless(access point). Router logs in PPoE (the DSL modem's "router functions are turned off"), Belkin access point has NAT turned off. (don't have the exact model numbers in front of me, but it's irrelavent, as the problem transcends manufacturers.
I tried using IE 7 and was not impressed and had some problems getting to web sites from addresses posted in emails that I normally have done for years on trusted sites. I am running XP Pro SP2. I tried doing a registry cleaning after deleting IE 7 and finally had to do a system restore to prior to installing it, but now I am getting the same problem again. The normal browser I use is Firefox 2.0 combined with using Outlook as my email program.
