Word 2003 Mail Merge With Excel Spreadsheet Database?
Feb 13, 2009
Each of my records has a person from a school. Each school from 1 to 9 people, thus from 1 to 9 records. I can sort by school name and manually check all the people from one school but I would like to automate the selection.I want to know how to create my master form so that I list each person from one school on one page, then automate the switch to a new list on a new page each time the school name changes.
I have just installed microsoft work 2004 when I go into excel open page up, I thing I want to know is that i want to produce 12 months on this spreadsheet how do i get it so each month is at the bottom of grid and I click on ones I want, I thing these are call sheets.
When I try to open Microsoft Office Word 2003 a window pops up that says window installer then it says installing microsoft office word feature. It stops half way and another window pops up that says Installation error file not found. A required installation file SKU112.CAB could not be found. Original installation source required. If you installed Microsoft Office Standard edition 2003 from cd please insert your cd.
If you installed Microsoft office standard edition 2003 over your computer network please browse to the installation source on your computer. Also a window popped up that says Microsoft word has not been installed for the current user. Please run setup to install application. I don't have the cd its lost. This just started doing this about a month ago. I can't open any files through microsoft office word or power point.
I don't know what happened, but my default e-mail program in MS Word changed by itself and now when I try to send to and mail recipient it uses Outlook instead of Outlook Express like I originally had setup.
I have a user who cannot open DOC attachments in Outlook 2003. When she tries to open the attachment, it attempts to open the file in Excel. When she opens a doc file stored on the hard drive, it opens correctly, so I know it isn't a Windows file type association issue.
For some reason i get an error when downloading a game and people say that deleting Microsoft Office Excel 2003 worked for them. So i went to delete it in the Add/Remove programs but i couldn't find it. Can anyone help me delete this. I want to completely remove it from my PC.
I have auto-updates enabled on my compute. Today there were several for updating, but two failed. They are:
1)Security update for Excel Viewer 2003 (KB918425) 2)Security update for Office 2003 (KB917151)
I have checked 'Add and Remove' and they are not there. I am advised they are unable to be updated by the automatic update facility. I downloaded them manually, but that also failed to instal. Could someone help please as this has never happened before to me. The update is 2.3MB. I have 33GB free on C:/drive.
When I open an Excel file I get the response "Unable to read file." I can open excel itself, but just no files. old or new. When I open Word it says "The file filename is unavailable" Then when I close it, it is telling me that "The file normal already exists. do you want to replace it?" if i click yes it goes away but still wont open my file next time. If i click no it tries to save in to the TEMPLATES FILE under NORMAL. My Norton Antivirus has also taken away my privileges so I can edit the updates and Norton Internet Security says that the file cannot be found when I click on the desktop icon. The Norton Internet Security icon has disappeared off my task bar. I've been trying to download updates for windows, but it wont alow me too
When trying to open any Word or Excel file, the program starts configuring Front Page Express. Since I do not have it installed, it results in an error and therefore opens Word/Excel in a blank page. Because of this, I have to always use File -> Open to open anything.
Every time open Internet Explorer, Word or Excel, a box pops up that says: Windows Installer: Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Office XP Professional with FrontPage. With Explorer I end up hitting cancel about 10 times and it takes about 30 seconds and it asks me for a CD I don't have, I hit cancel some more, and then Explorer finally loads. With Word and Excel, I just hit cancel once, and then Word and Excel never do load.
Often when I am opening documents in Word 2003, it takes ages for the system to respond 20-60 secs and when it does so it does it in a jerky fashion. I have recently upped the RAM to 1 gig, so can't belive this is the problem.
It seems when I'm typing in an e-mail, word document, or on the internet. I will be typing and the location of my cursor moves, whether it be in the middle of the sentence or at the end.
I have Windows XP on HP A735W - trying to download an e-mail attachment fm attorney but it's saying windows can't download-and giving me options on searches via internet.what can i do to open this important doc?
I am running Microsoft Works XP and have used the Word Processor to create a resume. I have saved the resume to My Documents. I have sent it out as an attachment to e-mail. Those receiving the e-mail say they get an error message that they can not open the program. The receivers usually ask me to resend as a Word Document. As far as I know it was orginally sent as a word document
I had a major crash and had to reinstall my Windows XP SP2, so I have had to reinstall most of my programs. Now whenever I load Excel, it takes a minute to "install excel features". I would think one install of whatever features it is installing would be sufficient. Why does it keep installing the same features and how can I get it to quit doing this?I am using Excel 2003 on a Gygabyte GA-8IEX mother board with a Pentium IV 2.53 cpu.
i'm running xp proffesional sp2 i'm wanting to know how i can merge my 20gb system drive back into to one. it is currently split into two called: local_disc C - 11.2gb system_sav E - 7.69gb (this drive partition is blank and has been formated) i would like to merge these two partitions into one.
I upgraded to Windows Live Mail and now am unable to view my previous e-mails in my hot mail account that i have had for years. How do i retrieve these e-mails that i believe are still on the server?
We set up two separate admin accounts, one for my wife and one for myself. now we realize that it's not just settings that are separate, but you cannot see programs, pictures, desktop files etc etc on each others's accounts. is there a way to merge the admin accounts so we can see all the information, and if so, do we need to set up tweo separate user accounts to safely access this information?
Should file names in the merge registry entries dialog box look like this? The real path to this file is C:Other FilesRegistry Backups. I've been using the Command Prompt (cmd.exe) recently; could that have anything to do with this? I just can't remember if file names always looked like that.
When I click on a Word document (on my Desktop, for example), it seems to take a long time for the document to open. Yet if I have Word open and click on the document it opens instantaneously. Similarly, when I right click on a document, photo, spreadsheet file, it takes what seems a long time for the menu (Open, Run as, Send to, Delete, etc..) to open.
I have Windows XP Pro SP2 as my OS. When I try to save a document directly from Word onto my DVD I get the message that is read-only. The OS does see the DVD drive because Roxio can burn to the drive. I prefer saving directly to the the drive from Word. What could be the problem?
I just installed my home Dell Dimension 4700 -- and can't seem to find any MS Office or "Word" options on my "All Programs" drop-down. The system is supposed to have Windows XP resident, but I'm not finding any of it. Also, I want to be able to convert old Word Perfect files to Word -- and vice versa, but have thus far been unsuccesaful in figuring out how to do it.
I just uninstalled something with word perfect on my dell inspiron 600 in order to free space b/c I didn't think that I used it, but now all my word docs (I'm running windows 2003 with a 2007 service compatibility patch/update) have turned into what looks like word pad docs! How do I find what was uninstalled and get it back?
I'm working through an ASP.NET tutorial in which the datasource is to be an Access .mdb (the famous Northwind db, to be precise). I'm instructed to configure the permissions the folder in which the northwind.mdb file is supposed to reside. The tutorial instructs me to browse to that folder, and right-click it and select "properties" and select the "security" tab-- but i don't have a Security tab. My user account is an administrator account, but just to test it, i logged is a "Administrator", but there was no change. Why do my folder properties not show a Security tab, and how do i change it so they do?
For the last couple of months now, I've noticed that my system, which has operated flawlessly for almost 2 years, started doing strange things: SystemSuite 6 Pro - Uninstall goes thru the process of creating the uninstall database, resolves the links, then abruptly closes SS6. Ad-aware SE - used to run thru the first 45,000 files rapidly, and never spent any appreciable time with the file counter not moving. Now it gets to only 12-1500 files and the HD starts chruning and won't stop; have to kill the program with task manager.Word or Outlook Express - frequent intervals where I'm typing, but letters don't appear on screen until after a 10-15 sec. interlude like something is running and taking the full resources of the CPU.
Back about three weeks ago, in an effort to speed up my start-up on my computer, I ran Cleaner. It identified all the start up things. I went through one by one and disabled those that I had checked on a registry database. Unfortunately one of the first I disable was USERINIT.EXE.Now, as some of you may know, I can't login to my computer! I can power on, and try to log in, the windows attempts to load my preferences, and then logs out. Over the past several weeks, I have tried in vain to get some helpful suggestions on how to remedy the situation, but obviously my range of knowledge in dealing with this type of problem isn't strong enough to figure it all out. It was suggested by a friend that I just do a ffr, but quite frankly, I see that as a last ditch effort. I have files on the computer, that I really don't want to lose. And it seems that as I know what the problem is....there must be someway to fix it without going to the extreme. As my computer is 3-4 yrs old, my windows CD was only for SP1, and I don't think that would help....although I don't really know.
