I downloaded a hotfix with a supplemental eula for my copy of windows xp,and accepted the license aggrement,I later downloaded the same hotfix another two times,just to read the eula.Does anyone know if this in any way invalidates my license by downloading it again?
View 6 RepliesFor some reason, when tried to open a PDF file over the internet, it shows the downloading and then when it's done, it's just a white screen. I tried going back but it's still the same thing. So I went to my desktop and clicked on some other older PDF file I had and I don't get know error message or anything, it doesn't open.

After downloading the program it does not install. I have burned data on DVD ,but for some reason when I try to use it ,the system(Windows XP Professional SP2 ) gives me "please insert disc" message.It started happening after I reinstalled windows ,but the data was burned onto disc on previous installation .It was the same system,I just had to reinstall it to fix a lot of accumulated problems .This happens with DVDs from various manufacturers and with different types of data,so I believe it's a system problem.It registers the disc being put in the DVD/CD drive(the icon is shown in my computer menu,although sometimes it is not) but it still gives me the insert disc message.98 % of the time it works O.K. ,but it should work all the time ,right?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have two CD-ROM drives on my Dell desktop. Until today they worked fine. I installed a new keyboard driver (which isn't working right) and now I am unable to read any CD in either drive. It's a MicroInnovations KB535BL keyboard with hot keys.The keyboard works but the hot keys don't. Their technical support gave me a different driver to try and that wouldn't install at all. I haven't heard from their second level technical support. So I tried to reinstall the keyboard driver from the CD that came with the keyboard. That's when I discovered that I couldn't read any CD on either of my CD-ROM drives. I haven't been able to contact MicroInnovations second level support.

It crashed yesterday and now whenever it boots it give me the following error A disk read error occurred Press ctl alt del to restart.I managed to get to the selection of boot in safe mode, but it still won't boot and then I get I/O error reading boot sector.At this point I just want to get the data off it. I had to reformat and reload one of my computers yesterday with windows XP and then proceeded to set up the networking. I will call the windows computers A, B and C. I reformatted A. Having run the networking wizard I can now from A read C but not B. B will not let A or C in. I need permission from the administrater. There is no administrater on any computer. C can read A but not B. B can read A and C. Does anybody know what is going on?
