I just did a spybot-search and destroy check on my computer today and something really lame came up with my system fonts. First thing I noticed was that my browser fonts in firefox are messed up. is this the same settings you have? because for some reason I'm getting a Garmond type font.
View 1 RepliesI turned it on and loaded up Simply Accounting.I noticed that the program window fonts were too small.I thought this had to be a simply accounting problem as i didn’t notice anything odd with my other Windows font in windows explorer.After doing some exploring i found that it was not only Simply Accounting, but other windows programs were affected as well.I looked in the typical windows appearance settings and saw that all was untouched.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe system's default font is now Wing Ding, which if you know is nothing but a bunch of symbols. I have tried to do a system restore past the date when this problem started but nothing changes. I've done a lot of searching on google but nothing has worked thus far.

When I click on the file nothing used to happen.Suddenly now it opens with IE.When I right click and click open with FireFox nothing happens.

I was a bit surprised, and checked the settings, but Firefox was still the default browser. Since then, every links from an other application (WLM, Google Talk, ...) open in IE. I want every links to be opened in firefox.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to change it to Firefox or any other browser, I try it 2 ways, one, by going to Start> set Program access anf defaults, and the other way by clicking the browser I want and when it says "Firefox is not your default, would you like to makeit so" I click yes andit seems to act like it is changing my browser, but then when I try to go to a site it keeps opening it with Avant. I never had this problem when I used only IE and wanted to change my default to Firefox. It always worked then but since I loaded Avant and started using it I can't get back to my other browsers. I also tried using Tools> Internet options> programs> and clicking on "make IE default browser and that did change it to IE but I couldn't get back to FF as default browser.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI was and still am having trouble with Windows Exployer. I can open it, but after opening a couple of pages it logs itself off. This is still happening. I tried using Firefox instead (now have both loaded) and have it listed as the Default, but I get an Unable To Connect error everytime now. Links try to open in Firefox and will not open.
1) Why is Exployer logging off?
2) Why can't I connect with Firefox?
3) Which do feel is better?
4) How do I set up default browser? ( I can't remember how I did it)
I'm using the Mozilla Firefox browser, and when I try to download anything, the browser stores it as a "download", but it won't allow it to be installed...Is there probably a setting a need to change somewhere?

I reloaded Firefox and it still does the same thing, nothing happens, then a crash message from Mozilla.The machine is running real sluggish, and efforts to use "restore" are not working. I tried four different restore points, going back to the first and restore goes through the motions, reboots, then I get a message that say the machine was unable to restore, no changes were made.

In Wordpad and WordPerfect they come up at the beginning of her font list as Arial Unicode MS, @MingLui, @NSimSun, @PMingLui and @SimSun. I have tried deleting them but they are write-protected.When you go to the font list the fonts are all there but many of them are invisible. I have tried uninstalling Office and reinstalling it but to no avail. I uninstalled it tonight but figured I would try and solve the deletion problem before reinstalling - in case they are connected.

From a read only CD, I have cleaned out several trojans, diallers and assorted rubbish, using Spybot, Adaware, and AVGfree. I have also installed Spyware Blaster. Connection remains unavailable. The installed Norton identifies C:windows erocheck.exe as a backdoor trojan but is unable to remove it and cannot then progress beyond the alert window so much for Norton.

When I click a link, the windows icon in the top right moves. As soon as I move my mouse that icon stops and I have no idea why this happens. It does not happen all the time and I have played around with it to isolate which windows and when it happens.....but it's not just my computer, but my work computer as well.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have burned data on DVD ,but for some reason when I try to use it ,the system(Windows XP Professional SP2 ) gives me "please insert disc" message.It started happening after I reinstalled windows ,but the data was burned onto disc on previous installation .It was the same system,I just had to reinstall it to fix a lot of accumulated problems .This happens with DVDs from various manufacturers and with different types of data,so I believe it's a system problem.It registers the disc being put in the DVD/CD drive(the icon is shown in my computer menu,although sometimes it is not) but it still gives me the insert disc message.98 % of the time it works O.K. ,but it should work all the time ,right?

I installed a new keyboard driver (which isn't working right) and now I am unable to read any CD in either drive. It's a MicroInnovations KB535BL keyboard with hot keys.The keyboard works but the hot keys don't. Their technical support gave me a different driver to try and that wouldn't install at all. I haven't heard from their second level technical support. So I tried to reinstall the keyboard driver from the CD that came with the keyboard. That's when I discovered that I couldn't read any CD on either of my CD-ROM drives. I haven't been able to contact MicroInnovations second level support.
