I would like to change Mozilla Firefox to be the default browser in Win XP Pro. Currently the default is Internet Explorer. Now I know that Mozilla has a function to do this automatically, however I would like to be able to change it back again later if I want to.
View 4 RepliesWhen I try to change it to Firefox or any other browser, I try it 2 ways, one, by going to Start> set Program access anf defaults, and the other way by clicking the browser I want and when it says "Firefox is not your default, would you like to makeit so" I click yes andit seems to act like it is changing my browser, but then when I try to go to a site it keeps opening it with Avant. I never had this problem when I used only IE and wanted to change my default to Firefox. It always worked then but since I loaded Avant and started using it I can't get back to my other browsers. I also tried using Tools> Internet options> programs> and clicking on "make IE default browser and that did change it to IE but I couldn't get back to FF as default browser.

When I click on the file nothing used to happen.Suddenly now it opens with IE.When I right click and click open with FireFox nothing happens.

Ive downloaded mozilla firefox easily enough but I cant see how to make it default in place of IE. Ive also tried to delete the Mozilla Firefox download in order to try again, but will not let me delete as I dont have sufficient admin acess, which surprises me as its always been my computer.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was and still am having trouble with Windows Exployer. I can open it, but after opening a couple of pages it logs itself off. This is still happening. I tried using Firefox instead (now have both loaded) and have it listed as the Default, but I get an Unable To Connect error everytime now. Links try to open in Firefox and will not open.
1) Why is Exployer logging off?
2) Why can't I connect with Firefox?
3) Which do feel is better?
4) How do I set up default browser? ( I can't remember how I did it)
mozilla firefox can access the internet just fine but internet explorer refuses. any ideas? i don't have proxy server or anything of the like.
