I just downloaded Explorer 7 I think it is. Problem I'm having is when I hit my back button or "backspace," explorer doesn't always respond. Why is this?
It gets really annoying because in some instances I will have to hit the back button several times for the previous page to load
left & right buttons work fine, but i cannot get the back & forward buttons to work. I re-install the 5.2 intellimouse software, but still have the same problem.

Actually it flashes up and quits at lightening speed The version which am working is 8x...No add ons is installed in it which can cause this behaviour...I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling it but the effect tends to just the same. At the same time the 'Search' button in the Start Menu does not even load up. Nothing happens when i click on it...But the Search button in the 'My computer' still works. i want my Search function back to normal in my Start Menu

Anyway, there are now tool bars installed that we keep uninstalling that reappear instantly, other programs we can't uninstall. Our MS Anti-spyware beta won't even run, we keep getting an error that says "rendering lens," and the computer is dragging in general.

When I go to Turn Off Computer, the "Turn Off" button has changed, indicating that when I hit it, it will install the updates. There's also a field I can click which will Turn Off without installing the updates. When I click the Turn Off buttion, it attempts to install two updates. It doesn't appear to be successful. Every time I Turn Off Computer it apparently tries to install the same two updates. I can reboot and do this over and over and they don't "take".There's nothing in Event Viewer to indicate what's going on. I couldn't find any installation logs though I'm not sure where to look.

the desktop icon size - have an 17" monitor and set resolution size to 1152x864 - but now the middle button on top right corner of screen will not not revert back to the double square allowing me to minimize my window - it seems to be stuck in Maximum size so I have to reduce the screen with the cursor, otherwise I loose everything above the Function Bar of File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, etc. I tried lowering the resolution, but that did not seem to work either...also when I click on this middel button between _ and X - it enlarges beyond my screen size and I cannot scroll
I am using Windows XP Pro, Mute button doesnt work. Also the eject button doesn't work (this never did, but i would like to set it up to eject my disc drive). Another thing i would like it to do is for the F14 button (which is unused on Windows) to work as a print screen button.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I push the mute button on the keyboard it does not turn off the volume but it does do the red no sound line. I also can't turn the volume up or down from keyboard. When I go to sound control and manually adjust by clicking mute and dragging my volume up and dopwn on master control that does not work either. Theu opnly way I can adjust sound or mute is to manually scroll the wave sound or mute wave sound with my mouse. help-master control sound does not have any master control and neither does the keyboard express volume/mute feature

View 3 Replies View RelatedI downloaded part of this file and then stopped it halfway through. Now I want to re-download it but it still is only downloading part of it (I think from the cache). Can someone please tell me how to clear the cache so that I can re-download the whole file. I cleared the Temp. Internet Files, Cookies, ran disc clean-up, shut-down and re-started the computer, removed and re-inserted the RAM but it still only gives my part of the file.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI started my system, which has ran XP Pro well for 2 years now, and it came up with a message box with some gibberish in it and a button to push which says OK. When I press the button windows starts but none of the programs which used to load at start up actually load. Instead I am prompted to pick programs from a list or look for them on the web. Also, once this is past, the icons on the desktop and all the start menu items have the app name followed by a .ink extension. This is pretty wierd. I cannot figure out how to get the system back. I do have all of my data on my c drive. If I book to a prompt I can see all of my data.

View 2 Replies View Related"Open With" dialog box with IE.When I click in my short-cut icon(s) on the desktop to launch my web site(s) I get the dialog box which reads "Choose the program you want to use to open this file". When I then select Internet Explorer and tick the "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" and click OK I get to my destination.But when I repeat the process of clicking the icon(s) for my site(s) I go through the same process again and again.It all happened when trying out Safari browser now uninstalled. The icon clicking worked properly with Safari but would not go back to working OK with IE.

View 6 Replies View Relatedi got somethin that is called ''A delayed writing failed''(my translation?) at E: S(with dollar tag over S)mft chkdsk manage to repair and delete the bad filepost-segement so i could acces the drive again. but now the problem is thath around 150 Gb of files has instead got hidden on the drive and can't be directley accesed with windows explorer..the files are recovered by chkdsk and the files works
however I can acces thoose files with Nero Burning Room LOL and R-Studio Data Recovery for example.first i tryed to copy thoose files to another hardrive with R-studio and back to orginal harddrive. the problem is that thoose hidden 150 Gb:s is still left on the drive.so my discspace is insufficient to succed to copy them back

I can access and view all of my other programs via TaskManager, but Windows XP programs are not working (Control Panel, Run...., Windows Explorer).
