I've got a problem with Internet Explorer (thought this question belongs to this forum). Well, everytime I exit Internet Explorer, then open it back again - I see that all my cookies were deleted. Why does that happen? Is it some wrong configuration in IE? If so, how and where can I change it?
View 7 RepliesI am running XP Home. Once I delete the internet history from the internet options, close IE, re-open IE and the history I just deleted comes back to life? Scanned my system using Norton System Works and Internet Security. Supposedly no virus or spyware or such.
View 6 Replies View Relatedthis one is a stumper guys,i have been getting pop ups only from internet explorer,i have run ewido,ad aware,spybot,hijack this,i have switched from internet explorer to mozzilla,i have deleted all temporary files.the cleaners clean them but when i go back online they see where i go and do pop ups similiar to the sites i go to.i then click off the internet and clean these new cookies,adwares and such then i run all these programs again and they all show me that my com is clean.then back to the internet i go and i am hit again with more pop ups.i have done all these cleanings in regular and slow mode.winfixer has been one of the most common and traffic to.i kill them and they come back.

I have an XPS 400 Dell computer XP Media Center Operating System. Recently my son added modzilla to our computer. In doing so he deleted internet explorer. The computer was running sluggish so I went back to a later restore date. When the computer came back up after restore only my husband and my profile were shown. while signing into my profile i get the following error message:

what do i do to get this back? There are no icons or start menue on my deskdop just my background. I can view files if i go to task manager but nothing else can be done. I know very little about computers and I need help very stressed. My kids need a computer for school.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhenever i launch internet explorer it takes longer than usual to load. And when i go to type a web address it just freezes and never loads a new webpage. I don;t know what is going on. This has started to happen on friday. I;ve ran the following and they found some stuff and have deleted it but i still have the same problem. I;ve even tried system restore and it still persist. I noticed that when i try to delete my history i get an error about not being able to open shell32.dll or something and that some about a inetcpl.cpl is having a problem.
When I start IE6 it just hangs on a white screen. I have SP2 and I've removed and reinstalled IE6 a couple of times but it doesn't help. When I launch IE it just hangs attempting to load my homepage (google) but I can press stop and access Options etc.. Firefox and all my other programs that access the internet are working fine but I need IE working too.I can't even access my router control panel via IE which makes me think this is a IE networking configuration problem. I've tried flushing dns but that didn't help.

Whenever I open up a messenger it hangs and then freezes. I ran my spybot detector and there were a few things but I got rid of them. My virus scan was clear and I also ran my disk defragmenter. I'm not sure if I got a virus somehow. I deleted all my cookies and files.

When I click start, then favorites, and then click on a link, sometimes it will dial up and go to that particular web page as it should, it will only partially load the Internet Explorer page. I've since uninstalled it, so I am now running IE 6, but IE 7 left something behind. Now, when I connect to the internet I get to my home page, but when I select a link I get a blank web page and the error message "Windows cannot find ˜(null). To search for a file, click the start button, and then click Search.Through research on the internet I've found that the registry key "C93E5AB5-7B71-4C31-B6B2-7F922A551EFF" needs to be deleted to fix my problem. Desktop would not load up but could still run programs.read somewhere that userinit.exe ran explorer.exe so tried running that from run.would start to work, brought desktop n everything up, but would freeze.on a whim i opened the control panel from run to see if there was anything i could do from there.When i ran control, it started my desktop and everything worked just fine.
Since then, i can start everything normally from running control when i start up. but i imagine it would still be healthier for my computer in general to have userinit working properly. however, here is where my computer knoledge fades. from reading other similar probs, it would seem that userinit has different parts? reg keys ect. only part of the whole working userinit configuration or whatever seems to have been deleted, since reading others who have had it fail completely dont appear to be able to do anything with their comps. so wondering how i can go about finding out which part i need to replace/fix. looked in i386, and there is a userinit, but when i go to copy it over to sys32, says overwrite? i didnt, since i would assume that means that part is fine. any ideas on what i need to replace?
I'm running Win XP. I was trying to get rid of windows messenger, and had gone into "add/delete prog." and then "add/delete windows components." There I UN-checked everything that was checked EXCEPT for windows messenger. the laptop proceeded in what i thought was deleting that program.
