My computer started to crash a bunch, so I reloaded windows. Now it does it all the time. It reboots randomly and does not record anything in the error log. It did however just give me a stop error. The error was 0x0000007E (0xC00001D, 0x804FFDB7, 0xF789E678, 0xF789E374)

I have been trying to fix this problem for about three days now, and I am at the end of my rope. I was installing the Kodak EasyShare Software and when it was almost finished, my PC restarted. I disabled the automatic restart and received the BSOD with the above mentioned stop code. I have rolled back all of my drivers and reupdated them. I have installed new drivers for my chipsets on my motherboard. I can go into Safe Mode with networking with no problems. But as soon as I start Windows normally I get the BSOD. I don't see anything in my startup folders either. I have ran a HiJack this file and found nothing either.

I put everything together, went into bios, changed the time. Made sure everything else was alright, (boot order basically) then put in my XP disc (that ive used for computers before) and restarted. It recognized it, went to the windows blue screen where it tried to load everything. Loaded everything (at the bottom in the gray bar) then the last thing it says is "Starting Windows Setup" (or something close to that) the screen flickers and up comes a blue screen saying "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If is the fi."
Then Technical Information:
*** STOP: 0x0000007e (0xC0000005, 0xF78E0BF, 0xF78DA208, 0xF78D9F08)
*** pci.sys - Address F748E0BF base at F7487000 DateStamp 3b7d855c
At the moment i am completely lost, my only thought was to take out the video card and see if that helped (since it said something about video drivers) but everything is brand new, and plugged in correctly (i believe) so i dont understand what is going on!?

I'm having some issues with my computer at the moment. It seems whenever I load an application from a CD/DVD, be it a game, installing or playing, or anything else, upon attempting to eject it after I'm finished, I get either:
A) the inability to open the disc tray again,
B) my computer restarts itself
or C) the computer shuts off, and i receive a BSOD stop error : 0x0000007E.
I report to microsoft every time, but so far to no avail. My graphics card burned out recently, and ever since, be it with my integrated adapter, or new graphics card, i have the formerly mentioned issues. I have reset the drivers, reinstalled them several times, checked the firmware of my optical drive, and checked my hdd for viruses, aswell as cleaning up my registry, but still i havent been able to solve the problem.

A DFI NForce3 motherboard. He went to the DFI site and downloaded the bios upgrade using the winflash software. The system then started running memtest86+ It went through a dozen passes -- no errors -- and now he can't get it to stop. He's tried pushing escape but its turning the test back on. He's tried the other tabs on memtest86+ I can't remember the names and memtest86+ restarts but he can't get back to Windows. How can he turn the darn thing off I'm not computer literate, but I did a little checking and I came across something that said to take memtest86+ out of the floppy drive or reset the boot order. His memtest86+ is not on a floppy or cd and he can't get the bios to come up to reset a boot order

Man, my computer for the last two weeks have been crashing like an emo. I mean, when I play GTA: San Adreas, in 20 minutes, I get a BSOD with a stop error. When I put hardware acceleration to full, in a half an hour, I get a BSOD with a similar error. Believe me, I got three kinds of errors, and some were from different time. I believe the problem either came from the either the PSU, new 512 mb of ram, old 512, CPU, system board, or the graphic card. I'll try to post the error as best as I can. So, is there a solution to this?
Error Message: STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER (Q293078) This is one of them, but there another one with KMODE that I can't seem to remember. Also, sometimes, after it tries to recover from a serious error, the computer shuts down during the bootup before I can choose which XP version I can choose.
Also, I hate to say this, but I'm not using a legit windows copy sp1, but I have updated to sp2.

laptop was infected with the Antivirus 2009 after surfing the web and I removed it using malwarebytes program. Then shortly after the laptop would show a blue screen, displaying "KERNEL STACK INPAGE ERROR" and then reboot. After the reboot, my laptop seemed to run fine, I downloaded AVG antivirus software to check if there was a boot sector virus (?) and after running the laptop for about 30 minutes, it showed the blue screen again and reboots. This kept on occuring.
Then I tried to reformat the laptop. The first time I tried to format it as FAT32, it got to about 60% before rebooting. The second time I managed to get past the formatting (FAT32 [quick])and I got onto the part of installing windows. About 20 minutes into the installation. A stop error appeared "STOP C0000218 Unknown Hard Error". Could the hard disk be corrupt

There was a power outage at my house yesterday while I was away. When I came home my computer screen was black and displayed the message: boot disk error, insert system disk and press enter.
I tried rebooting but the message persisted (after going through the initial information about IDE stuff). I went into the bios to see if my hard drive was dead, but the bios still recognized it and my secondary hard drive. I also tried to boot from a Window XP cd and repair Windows on my master drive, but the error message came up regardless of the cd drive I used I have a CD drive and a CDRW/DVD drive. In both instances where I had the CD in one of the two CD drives, the CD was spinning and presumably being read) but I could never get the computer to boot off of it. (Note: I tried both CD drives, because my bios is set to boot off CD first, although I don't know which CD drive it actually looks at first

I've got a problem that, if fixed, would by-pass other problems. I got a virus on one of my Dell Dimensions (E521) and figured I would simply just reformat the hard drive and do a clean install of Windows XP. I backed up all my information, put the hard drive in my second PC (E520) and reformatted the hard drive. So I ended up getting Windows XP installed on this newly reformatted hard drive by using my second computer (E520) to reformat then install using the Dell operating system disk.
I put the hard drive back into the first computer (E521) where it came from and I get this blue screen error with "Stop: 0x0000007B" I know that this means there are a lot of different things that could be going wrong, but it is mostly due to the computer not being able to load the OS from the hard drive. This is a big problem, but the bigger problem is my USB keyboard is not being recognized at start up on the first PC (E521) meaning I can't get into bios or do anything really since when the hard drive tries to load it gets this blue screen error.
I've tried updating my bios by making a bootable bios update disc and forcing my computer to start from disc by unplugging my hard drive, but it wouldn't work because I needed a keyboard to start the bios update from the disk in the dos prompt. - If there's a way to make the update start automatically it may update the bios, fix the keyboard problem, where I'll be able to get into bios and make sure the hard drive is being recognized properly. I figure if I can fix at least one of the problems I'll be able to fix the other. If I can get by the blue screen, I'll be able to get to windows and do a bios update there since the keyboard will be recognized OR if I can get the keyboard to work I'll be able to get into bios where I'll be able to fix the hard drive problem.....

once the on button was pushed, it came up with the BIOS screen asking for the password.I removed the CMOS battery, which allowed me to change the Password so I can get onto BIOS now. However, when I boot now it just comes up with the BIOS screen.I set HD to boot first, aswell as setting the clock and date. I then ask it to save and quit, after which it shut's down, and reboots, only, BIOS keeps coming up. And I need to get this sorted asap

I have had windows XP Pro installed, updated and running fine until about a week ago. I was away from home for about a week and left the machine plugged into the mains but powered down. When I returned home to boot up, it kept doing things like constantly hanging on parts of the bios POST screen, eventually booting up after thirty or so complete restarts. It finally booted into windows but after the last shutting down, it will now not boot up at all. I have replaced the bios battery and reset the bios several times.

Installing windows on a pc built for my friend and it comes up with a stop code.
stop d1. driver_irql_not_less_or_equal then it states
acpi.sys
address fc40d3b4 base at fc3fb000
which i think refers to a stop a1 as well.
ive tried using 2 different type of memory on the m-board and still get the same error.
there are no other hardware besides a cdrom and hdisk, mosue and keyboard. i did have an old logitech mouse but swapped that as i read that can cause problems too.
i dont know how to go about fixing this as their is a hotfix for acpi problems but thatr equires u to actually have windows on teh pc in teh first place i.e safe mode.
i can get into bios and it performs POST no problems. the only other thing is it boots fromcdrom but it says no emulation.

I have a Toshiba Qosmio F15-AV201 Win XP MCE SP 2 laptop purchased in 2005. I have a one year old Toshiba Qosmio specific HD, that's the only change in the system I've made. I have satellite internet and use a Linksys router for the Qosmio. I live in a VERY rural area, so I left the connection unsecured.I got a stop error "attempt was made to write to read-only memory" and the culprit per the blue screen was w29n51.sys. The exact error code is 0x000000BE.Another weird "symptom" was vertical blue lines on the windows start up screen. These weird blue lines were NOT there in safe mode.My son recently downloaded a bunch of crap on the desktop, MP3s and possibly video clips. He got some nasty spyware/malware I managed to get off the desktop via the recovery console.

When I turn on my computer, it does the bios check, then goes into the bios screen on its own. I have checked all of the bios settings, and see nothing set wrong. The only way I can get itno my xp pro system, is to use "F8" during the bios check, the select my hd from there, then it seems only half of my programs work, and it also seems to be randomly changing the programs that do not work, when I do this.

The computer I am working on is a Compaq Presario SR1020NX running Windows XP Home Edition. It connects to the internet via a Linksys WMP54G adapter. It tried to install Windows XP SP3 and it failed. While the update was trying to work correcting the changes it made it froze so my b/f powered it off. It rebooted just fine and he was on the internet for a little bit and then it stopped working. We recycled the modem and the router, I reset everything. Tried to uninstall and reinstall the adapter and nothing worked. I contacted Linksys and we tried to use WZC to connect to no avail. After troubleshooting a little more we determined that it had to do with the updates that were just installed on the pc. The tech suggested removing all the updates that were just installed and try again. I tried...but that is where everything went heywire. I uninstalled the first update and rebooted.....then got a blue screen flash up that said autochk program not found - skipping autocheck and then went to an endless boot cycle. I couldn't boot in safe mode, tried last known good config and nothing worked.
